Through reading and highlighting, I actually find interesting parts on this page, such as he describes as well  ‘’it could be agreed that graphic design, as currently practiced.’’ He argues with practicing through graphic design and I agree as well. As myself learning to be a graphic designer is just take time more with practicing. As well within agrees, and adds that  ‘’a prime example of a popular accessible medium exhibiting symptoms of postmodernism.’’  I think discussed is more in experiments with media and etc. Through reading his understanding and discus,  ‘’It is not this book’s purpose to provide an overview of postmodernism.’’ In other paragraphs continue with ‘’ multitude of something conflicting interpretations’’, and lastly ‘’postmodernism has generated.’’ Bit of the understanding in my brain as my argument is that he clearly has knowledge about post-modernism as well combing with graphic design.

Session 7 : Post Modernism and Visual Culture
Link down notes:
‘‘Postmodernism remains a difficult, slippery and for some, infuriating topic. It is now so well established as a way of thinking about our time and our ‘condition’, that it cannot be simply ignored.’‘  by Rick Poyner in the book - No More Rules.
Roughly dates from the 1980s to the present,
Seductive and fashionable,
Disputed: lack of consensus on its meaning or application.
Post also has other meanings such as:
After-modernism,
Anti-modernism,
Hype-rmodernism.
Working through a timeline and context is roughly founded in 100 years, mid 19th century the to late 1970s.  A sustained period of innovation in the arts linked to changes in industrial practices, science, and media.  The key ideas such are rationalism means: ‘‘The practice or principle of basing opinions and actions on reason and knowledge rather than on religious belief or emotional response’’. Key themes are in visual culture:
Crisis of representation,
Foregrounding of high culture,
Belief in grand narratives.
The after-modernism is has run its course or complete knowledge or history of modernism has been surpassed by a new age.  The key points of after-modernism are that from the 1980s onwards:
The post-industrial age: post-Fordian economics,
Computerization is seen as principal force of production,
A new era in global markets: liberalization,
Turbo capitalism v late or post-capitalism.
The anti-modernism is a complex reaction to the failures of modernism, with conflicts, holocaust, ecological disasters, and many others. As well anyhow,  anti-foundational is a rejection of rationalism, truths, certainties, doctrines, and stable beliefs systems. As well, other examples:
Contradictory attitudes to modern media,
feminist anti ‘patriarchal’ perspectives,
no more rules  - subversion of modernist.
Lastly, a hyper-modernism is cyclically seen In relation to tandem with post-modernity.  In relation to new media technologies as:
Technological acceleration,
Cyberculture and the ideological new,
Post-internet: culture hybridity.

This graphic novel book called ‘’no logo’’, written by Naomi Klein. She writes about issues such as sweatshops in the Americas and Asia, culture jamming, corporate censorship, and Reclaim the Streets.  She always writes about No Space, No Choice, No Jobs, and No Logo. There is a quote that’s it’s kind of interesting and it’s ‘’Machines wear out. Cars rust. People die. But what lives on are the brands.’’ This little bitty quote was written by Hector Liang a former chairman of the United States.  I this book it’s a well-written book about a book focuses on branding and often makes connections with the anti-globalization movement. Anyways in this highlighted parts of the couple pages of the book, are bits that little didn’t understand, when I read more I found a good understanding through Global culture.

Session 6: Global culture and ethical design
the link below notes...
A ‘’framing’’ Globalisation with inter-linking themes such as:
The global village,
Digital integration,
Trade without borders.
Within the global village as the definition is the idea that people are connected by easy travel, mass media, and electronic communications, and have become a single community. An example of the global villages is all the combined socialites. Cultural imperialism the disproportionate effect of one culture over another and it’s post-traditional community.
As for digital integration is a development, the media synchronized into visual ‘world time’, opening up new patterns of cultural exchange with the internet, mobile networks and social media.  As well within computerization as the principal force of production has changed the way knowledge is acquired, classified and exploited.
The trade without borders meaning post-industrial society, turbo or late capitalism. It’s found since the 1980s growth in global economics. Movement in the west from manufacturing to service-based economies. As well within national borders/ideologies less relevant with the collapse of institutional barriers to trade.  Such as within a:
The modern car industry,
USA - renewed protectionist/nationalist agenda,
UK - BREXIT - renewed protectionist national agenda,
Global brands - the francization of the high street,
The big-box effect with movement from the town centers of consumer  leisure pursuits.
Link up the book research...
As for extra research their couple bits the Naomi Klein argues that corporations are:
Immortal - accumulated power, wealth and influence,
Ephemeral - can change their operation quickly,
Aggressively competitive - driven by profit and growth,
Chameleon-like - change their ideology to suit the location.
‘‘products are made in the factory ... but brands are made in the mind’‘, quoted by Walter Landor in No Logo 1999 by Naomi Klein.  As well as within a signifier of the image, lifestyle attitude or myth.

For the fashion choices of the subculture, I chose my own culture in Poland. When I researched subculture within fashion the ‘’Dresiarze’’, comes out and I think it’s alright. For the fashion choice or what they wear is mostly conformable and scruff style such as they don’t care, but I can see over the years it changes and more fashionable choice for polish guys. But it’s looking at like a gangster type of style and also like a rapper style as well.

Session 5 - Subculture and styles
Link below images of notes..
In this lecture we talked about the lovely word of subculture. The subculture goes back to 1800s and the early studies refrend to deviant. The subculture is associated with past 1945 youth of subculture such as ‘’the rise of teenagers.’ What that means is within example of moods, rockers and teddy bears that involves with ‘’the rise of teenagers.’’ As well with a refers to any minority group with a sherd set of beliefs values or lifestyle.  A subculture means that is a cultural group within a larger culture, often having beliefs or interests at variance with those of the larger culture. I think that is great explaining what actually means with usefully understanding.
Link up the images of fashion and graphics..
These actually some pros and cons of the fashion aspects through subculture. They are such as:
mainstream culture,
deferent grand faction or planned future action,
conformity to borrow traffic rules,
fatalism,
confront in routine,
strong work ethic,
family as moral,
defined gener roles,
deferent to religion beliefs.
These square values are points that are from the pros points on the subculture. Another are cons, such in another word an negative points are :
confer as cultural,
hedonism,
spontaneous actions,
non conformity,
belief in self anomy,
distend for work chic,
anti-materialistic,
spritural as instamatics,
non-barney.
These are beat values and points through culturally fashionable choices, and they think it’s good for them.

Link below are written notes.. The comic art from the artist Jim Lee it’s created for Batman, most iconic comic novel and from 2002/3. I choose this particularly artwork, because doesn’t uses colour and it’s only in black and white. As well doesn’t have a onomatopoeia just panels of illustrations of what is going on through the stories, and I can really see the emotions through this comic novel. I think doesn’t need to use a colour cause its has in it an example and whats is going on even without an single colour.
