At the question Koda’s eyes widened and he bit at the bottom part of his mouth, a strange sort of grimace on his face. The answer would be obvious really, if Kirishima took a step of logic further but he didn’t know how to tell Kirishima…that he had a rodent information network spanning the city and forest surrounding UA. That would be… Weird right?

Creepy too. He didn’t want to admit he was in essence, a spymaster. He was doing his best to keep tabs on things and make sure things were quiet… which they were so he was just monitoring villain activity and things like that… Not people.

Sensing his discomfort, a few of the older rats curled closer to his neck and groomed the skin there gently.

“They are cute- they’re very clean and smart... and a lot of them live around the campus already…” Evade the question Koda. Don’t admit anything. Kirishima doesn’t have to know ANYTHING.

He was alerted to the other by the rats, looking up at him. At Kirishima’s slow, almost clumsy sign Koda’s expression brightened, surprise and delight pulling his mouth open wide and his eyes fixing on the movements. There was something so kind and so special that Kirishima was signing for him, working to not startle the array of rodents… It. It meant so very much to the petting Hero.

He couldn’t return the signs, hands occupied, but his voice was soft and very fond. “Some are from the forest… Some from the city. They’re good scouts. Tough and… Very kind.” He knew they may not be everyone’s favorite animal, and Kirishima hadn’t come closer, but it meant a lot to himself and the rodents that there wasn’t the scent of disdain or malice from the redhead.

         “Heh.” Would it be okay to speak? He wouldn’t frighten them away now that they and Koda were alerted to his presence, right? Maybe. Maybe, but he wouldn’t come much closer just in case. That’s it. Just keeping his voice low and soft, like Koda’s. Kirishima managed a grin, shoving his hands into his pockets as he leaned against the wall. 

         “They’re pretty cute.” It wasn’t a lie, he could admire how adorable they were even if they were the kind of animals he preferred. The cute little twitches of their noses, the little flicks of their tails, yeah, they were all so damn cute! Not that he wanted to hold one, even with his curiosity making him want to. Koda didn’t seem to have a problem, maybe it wouldn’t totally be bad– “How’d they get in?”

Koda is soft... He's one of those people that cries at a sad ending to a movie or story. Hyper empathetic. He knows that the characters aren't real, and that real life doesn't always end happily either, but he can't help the quiet tears that come.

Oh. Tenya wasn't one to mince words was he? Koda wondered slowly if Tenya was going to appreciate the answer- he came from a family of heroes after all. It was a noble profession, one of acclaim and renown. Koda didn't know what the normally so serious teen was going to say.

Koda began slowly, as he does with all things he speaks. "I don't like to fight. I'm not strong, physically or emotionally. I've been shy and scared most of my life, and that's never changed. There are always people like that... But they can't do anything about it and get hurt, or they end up doing something terrible because they're so scared."

He looks down at his hands. "I'm not strong... But neither are they and I can do something to help them. If... I can be scared for them, so they're not...? I mean- I'm already scared anyway."

He rubbed at the back of his head. This never made much sense when he tried to explain it. He should really just say because it was the right thing to do. He thought about his neighbors and his mother when villain attacks happened and got so anxious breathing hurt. That every time something bad happened he knew he had to do SOMETHING he couldn't just SIT there!

He turned his hands over, wringing them as he very seriously avoided all eye contact with Iida. He didn't want to know how the student council president would view him after such an admission. Didn't want to know, honestly. Koda always thought it was a fluke he got into UA if he was honest with himself.

         Tenya watched the birds FLY away for a moment, still somewhat fascinated with Koda’s quirk; of having the ability to SPEAK to animals and understand their context behind their noise. Almost something coming from those fairytales, right? Where the girl sings to call the birds and the other woodland creatures to help her reach her DREAMS- Koda seems like someone in that story.

“I’m fairly well. Thank you for asking.”

         This was a START of a conversation. There were still a few of his classmates that he still wasn’t particularly close so he was glad to have some alone time with the SILENT WORKER..

“If you don’t mind me asking but why did you want to become a hero to begin with?”

Large ones, small ones, babies and elders. They're all along his arms and shoulders as he's settled in the dorms. They're very adorably chatty, telling him all about one another and the goings on of the school and forest.

He looks like he's from some horror movie, except that he's smiling.

Photo album for my Inko Midoriya cosplay. All free hand and painted with acrylic paint over the course of 6 hours or so?

I was trying to think of what a photo album in the MHA world would look, and there's no doubt in my mind Izuku would want one of All Might. The backside makes me laugh because it's All Might's belt buckle and crotch haha, but I didn't wanna do his pecs or chest and liked the design.

Anyway I'm gonna be at a small con this weekend and giving any MHA candy and bandaids lol. Especially any Izukus
