My journey of yoga started with a back and knee pain. I had tried all the alternative methods such as acupuncture, chiropractors, heat pad ointments, and not to miss the pain killers, it helped for a short time, but the pain sprung back.  I decided to focus on the root cause just like any disease. This led me to the trying to find a solution that would help eliminate the pain at its root and this quest led me to yoga as everything else had failed. Yoga worked like a miracle for me it not only healed my aches and pain but provided for me a new learning to take care and be in control of oneself not in the egoistic way but in simpler terms of life.

Yoga is a form of exercise that enables you to move your body in various positions, making it more flexible and fit. Yoga poses help in improving your breathing and relaxing your mind.
Yoga in itself is so vast that it offers something for everyone. One of the forms of Yoga that has been gaining popularity worldwide is Yoga Trapeze, also known as Yoga Swing.
What is Yoga Trapeze?
It is a Yoga style whereby you hang on a fabric swing and practice poses in the air, similar to a flying kite. The idea behind Yoga Trapeze is to suspend the body using gravity, enabling it to realign itself.
It has excellent health benefits. It helps to improve the flexibility of the body and circulation. It also relieves back pain.
Yoga Trapeze for Beginner
Beginners can learn Yoga Trapeze from professional Yoga practitioners. Let us see some poses that can help you get started with ease.
· Lay Back: The most tempting pose is to lie on the back in the hammock, allowing it to swing. Put your arms out to the side, which opens the shoulders and chest.
· Chair Position: This pose requires you to sink as if sitting in a chair. You have to keep the wing under the armpits for a deeper stretch and rest your hands on your thighs. This stretch helps release compression through the vertebrae.
· Shoulder Expansion: This pose requires the hammock to wrap around wrists and press palms forward. The stretch shoots through the shoulders and spine and alleviates any pain in the lower back.
· Hammock Plank: Rest the top of the feet onto the hammock to build strength. Place your hands under your shoulders to enter the plank position. It enables the core to be engaging. The pose allows the shoulders, wrists, legs, and spine to increase strength. It is something that works for the whole body.
· Gravity Inversion: Wrap your hips in the hammock. Lean backward, straightening the legs out in your front as you roll back over the hammock. Enable your hands to stretch the arms out and move them in either direction, as if you are mirroring a starfish.
Besides ensuring fitness, Yoga Trapeze offers a lot of health benefits.
· Increases Mood: In poses where the body is in an upside-down position, the oxygen supply to the brain enhances. It helps in releasing hormones that give off happier signals.
· Helps in Back Pain: The Yoga Trapeze has gained a lot of recognition due to its unique approach that helps reduce back pain.
· Increased Stretches: Suspension enables you to feel the stretch in its totality, particularly in backbends.
· Strengthening Muscles: Being suspended in the air, it is not necessary to hold yourself. It’s a chance to tackle some stiff muscles and work towards strengthening them.

How does yoga help women stay youthful, happy, and healthy?
Tumblr media
Being healthy is essential for anybody who wants to stay happy and feel young. But when it comes to women, they need to stay healthy as they have multiple roles to play as a daughter, a sister, a wife, and a mother. Moreover, their roles and responsibilities increase when they are professionals or entrepreneurs besides looking after their homes.
Presently, many companies are using International Women’s Day as the perfect platform to introduce several programs for women’s wellbeing. Corporate Yoga for women is one of such initiatives that help them deal with workplace pressure.
Globally, Yoga is considered the most trusted and proven way to stay healthy. Ideally, you should find the best Yoga teacher to learn and practice Yoga.
Let us see how yoga practice can help women remain young and healthy.
Flexibility: Yoga brings flexibility to the body, which helps prevent pains, aches, and stiffness in the body muscles. For instance, daily activities like getting up from a chair or bending to pick anything can be easy and less painful. It creates space in the body, especially in the spine. It lengthens the spine and creates space in between each vertebra. It improves the nerve conduction to all organs, so everything works and flows better.
Balance: The capacity to balance involves both the body and the brain. While practicing it, we strengthen our balance and coordination. It improves our agility, which is vital as we grow older. It prevents us from falling, thereby avoiding any fractures or broken bones.
Breathing: People underestimate the power of breathing. Yoga helps increase lung capacity. It helps create more oxygen for body cells, creating more energy and life force in the body. As a result, we inhale more air (oxygen) and get used to it. It enables us to breathe correctly, which further helps in lowering blood pressure and better digestion.
Body Awareness: Yoga enables us to become more aware of our bodies. Regular practice can help us improve our posture. It also helps increase the body sensitivity levels making us feel the subtle energies moving around the body.
Along with yoga, women can enroll in meditation classes that can help them keep calm and remain positive in stressful situations.
Thus, regular yoga and meditation practice can have remarkable effects on your overall personality. Besides keeping you healthy, it keeps you youthful and happy.

Balance and open up your chakras with these Yoga poses
Tumblr media
Since time immemorial, ancient Yoga experts have highlighted the importance of energy flow in the human body for better health and wellness. According to them, there are seven chakras or energy centers in the human body through which our vital energy or Prana Shakti flows. The energy flows freely from the base of the spine to the crown of the head.
But due to a sedentary lifestyle, there are chances that these energy channels may get blocked, leading to imbalanced Chakras, which results in physical and mental health issues. When a Chakra or the energy wheel gets blocked, illness and diseases start gripping the human body.
The good news is – you can balance your Chakras, i.e. ensure uninterrupted energy flow with Chakra-balancing Yoga.
The benefits of Chakra balancing Yoga poses are remarkable, as they invite fresh and positive energy with every inhalation.
Here are the 7 Chakras with their balancing poses
Muladhara Chakra or Root Chakra- is located at the base of the spine in the pelvis. To balance this Chakra Virabhadrasana I or Warrior I pose helps connect with the earth and strengthen the feet. The lower body opens, and the hips get stretched to release the trapped energy.
Svadhishthana Chakra or Sacral Chakra- is located in the lower abdomen, about four fingers below the navel. Easy Crow Pose – Sukha Kakasana is appropriate to balance the Sacral Chakra, as it stimulates and balances the functions of your urinary tract, kidneys, and gonads.
Manipura or Solar Plexus Chakra- is located at the solar plexus, between the navel and the bottom of the rib cage. The Boat Pose or Navasana requires you to balance your sitting bones and tailbone tripod. It helps to stimulate this Chakra, activate the fire energy, and connect you to the center.
Anahata or Heart Chakra- as the name suggests, is located around the heart region of the human body. Camel pose or Ustrasana helps in opening up your heart center.
Vishuddha or Throat Chakra- is located in the throat. Fish Pose or Matsyasna stretches your throat and allows a free flow of energy through your voice.
Ajna or the Third-eye Chakra –is located in the center of the eyebrows. It is the focal point for Yoga poses to develop more concentration and awareness. Child’s Pose helps you connect to the earth and stimulates the center of this Chakra.
Sahastrara Chakra or Crown Chakra- is located at the crown of the head. The most popular Yoga pose to activate your Crown Chakra is Headstand – Sirsasana. It stimulates this Chakra, a gateway to universal consciousness, by placing pressure on the top of your head.

SUFFERING FROM FROZEN SHOULDER: TRY THESE 3 YOGA POSES TO GET INSTANT RELIEF
Tumblr media
The modern lifestyle is full of comforts. But at the same time, it brings a lot of strain and stress. Ideally, as part of the hectic daily routine, you work long hours sitting in front of your computer screens and even eat lunch at your desk. At home also, you prefer to sit in front of the television and have dinner at the table.
Due to this sedentary lifestyle, you may experience strain in the neck and shoulders. At times, you may also feel stiffness and blockage in your shoulder region due to anxiety and negative emotions. And the worse is when this situation remains unaddressed, leading to a frozen shoulder.
In Yoga, there are specific asanas for improving every part and organ of the human body. There are also some asanas that you can practice Yoga for frozen shoulder.
Here are three best Yoga poses for a frozen shoulder that can help remove any blockages and reduce the tightness in your shoulder.
Paschim Namaskarasana – Reverse Prayer Pose
Stand in the Tadasana position and relax your shoulders. Bend the knees a little and stretch your arms backward. Try to join your palms in the prayer pose.
With deep inhaling, press the inner sides of your palms and relax for a few seconds. Now slowly exhale, move your palms downwards, and come back to mountain pose (Tadasana).
The Reverse Prayer Pose targets the shoulder muscles and joints by stretching them the most. It also opens and stretches upper back muscles. It is also helpful for all types of back pain.
Bhujangasana – Cobra Pose
Bhujangasana, as the name suggests, is the snake posture. To begin, lie flat on your stomach and place your head on the ground. Put both hands on the ground and lay pressure on your palms, then lift your body from the torso.
Now stretch your back and abdomen muscles, keeping your shoulder blades pressed against your back, and lookup. Hold this position for 10-15 seconds and exhale. Return to your starting position and relax.
By practicing this asana, you can increase the flexibility of back muscles and strengthen your spine. It also reduces stress and tension around the neck and shoulders.
Dhanurasana – Bow Pose
As the name suggests in this pose, your body will form the shape of a Dhanush (Bow). Lie down on your stomach and raise your legs and torso backward. Extending your arms behind, hold your feet with your hands, and then look up. Keep holding this pose for some time, release and relax.
This asana helps get instant relief from back problems and opens up the chest, neck, and shoulders. It also reduces stress and strain on the back muscles.
Although you can begin to practice Yoga for frozen shoulder yourself, you can take the guidance of a professional Yoga practitioner for the best results. If you are in North Carolina, you can enroll in online Yoga classes conducted by Anjana Yoga.
