"Fuck!!!" Acrylic + mixed media, 10 x 20 in. Started and finished 02/05.

My final daily painting! The theme was "narrative," I set up a still life of some of my things and tried to paint how I was feeling in the moment... which was extremely stressed because I was worrying about transferring. (Thankfully that's all sorted out now.) I included some familiar critters if you look closely. My painting teacher encouraged me to add the text, I was a lil hesitant but now I'm glad I did.

I really hate experiencing such strong + intense emotions but I'm trying to reframe it as a gift; art is my outlet and I think most of my work wouldn't exist if I was more chill. And a lot of my favorite pieces were done when I was really struggling, so I think I just gotta learn to lean into it. LMK if you have a similar relationship to your art!

"Sole Cycle" Acrylic, 12 x 16 in. Started and finished 1/31.

4/5 daily paintings for my Painting 2 class! The prompt for this one was "ambiguous" IIRC! I was stressing myself out over the details in this so my teacher encouraged me to ditch the representational approach and try abstract painting instead. Still very happy with this one, I'm grateful it got me out of my comfort zone!

"Dan Mirror" Upcycled 14 in. diameter mirror w/ spray paint + vinyl. Started 01/29 and finished 05/02.

One of my favorite pieces ever... a semester in the making. I found this mirror thrifting back in January and was gonna leave it until I realized the shape was literally a dandalien! It felt like fate. So it became painting 3/5 for my Painting 2 daily paintings assignment, and I just recently added the face with the help of my printmaking teacher + technician!

The prompt for this was "strange perspective," so initially I wanted to make a painting that literally stared back at you and Dan is the easiest character to make in 3D because he has no leaves, but I relate to Dan the most outta the Space Race cast so this piece can also be about seeing yourself in your favorite characters. Or something.

Cool design for an even COOLER project I got to work on this past week... will get pics soon but I liked the design too much to not post it on its own

Also the toaster is named Marty, I've talked about him on my stories but I don't think I've introduced him in a feed post. He's basically Dan and Andy's pet slash child, because conquering earth would almost be too easy without a weird little mechanical devil sabotaging you

Another piece I started during philosophy... the big guy is Seaquester, he's existed for a while now but I've finally settled on a design I like so I'm really excited to draw him more. And you know Dan and Andy (I hope???)

Big things coming soon. Gonna actually try to illustrate a full chapter of space race soooon because I never know how to describe it to people so I'd rather them read my unfunny, poorly drawn comic as I awkwardly stand there and watch their facial expressions

Another mock comic book cover! I started and finished this during philosophy because I am crazy. I love having a class where I can just sit and draw, I'm constantly making stuff for school but this is different because it's casual and on my own terms. This guy is my self insert Benny, they wear a visor because it's like the dandalien version of glasses (also it just looks cool as hell)

Maybe I'll start sharing more space race stuff soon because this project consumes me... you WILL love my ocs

How it feels to take 2 semesters of life drawing just to end up scared of drawing people

I feel like I've been stagnating with how I draw humans/humanoids (and kinda with my style in general) so if you see me trying some weird stuff with my art that is why

I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON SO MANY COOL CURRENT PROJECTS but they're all traditional so I just need a chance to document them... for now I will continue posting stuff from my transfer portfolio

This was an in-class life drawing assignment from last semester! I have buzzed hair but that's kinda boring to draw so my teacher let me draw myself wearing my favorite hat!!! (I love collecting hats now because I can wear them without worrying about ruining my hair.) Also I am looking off to the side because that's where I had put my mirror. I'm not used to drawing myself but school has me making soo many self portraits, it's new and weird but I still really enjoyed this.

I was doing mlp infection stuff before it was cool... (sorta not really I just wanted to say that) Reductive monotype, 11 x 13.5 in. Started/finished March 14, 2023.

This piece is almost a year old now but it's still one of my favorite things I've made. This was a Printmaking 1 assignment and I'm in Printmaking 2 right now so hopefully I can make more monotypes soon! Also please ignore the warping, this is meant to be more rectangle-shaped but I've yet to flatten it out but who cares

I got sick with some weird cold so I've spent the past couple days in bed with a fever... it's nice to have some my strength back because I was feeling restless
