A slight grin  erupted  upon Chara’s expression at Frisk’s  attempt  to change such a vulnerable emotion into a face of  BRAVERY. Those  red eyes  shined with interest, because even if she tried to be KIND-- There was still  a part of her  who found it all to be so...  AMUSING . Chara  pushed  her attempt to be polite  further  and shook away the mocking attitude she wanted to portray.

Somewhat  pleased  by the reaction she received for her violent offer-- She’s quick to remove that smile OFF her face when she felt like Frisk was looking at her again.  ❛ Of course not. ❜  Chara denied such a remark,  ❛ I’d NEVER laugh at you. ❜   Chara crossed her arms, her head slightly tilting-- Reddish brown hair  softly flopping  with her movement.  ❛ You can tell me anything, partner. ❜

𝓕risk realizes of course, that crying is something that should be avoided at all costs. The heat that builds within their rib cage, the tears, the helplessness, and the way other people look at the kid when the tears flow down a pair of ruddy cheeks embarrass the ten year old. In spite of everything, she does her best to look BRAVE! 

Crying’s never ever once helped them before. Doing so now certainly won’t change anything. Of course the moment they hear 𝓒hara’s answer shoulders tremble and the eight fallen SOUL rubs the back of their wrist against their eyes.

“Ch-Chara?” The king stammered out in utter disbelief. The child he had lost once before, now stands mere feet away from him. While part of him did wonder just how they came back, the rest didn’t care. The rest of him just wanted to know if they were truly real. Or if this was just another dream.

With trembling hands and tear filled eyes, Asgore slowly began closing the distance between them, and slowly fell to his knees as he finally reached the child.

“O-of course I missed you.” He answered as he slowly stretched out a hand towards the child before him. However, he stops for a moment, as if the monster is afraid that if he makes contact, the child will be revealed as an illusion, and be gone once again.

After the short hesitation, he gently places his massive, furred, hand on the child’s cheek “I-I missed you so much.”

Play along.  She told herself. Smiling as he put a hand against her cheek, her own hand moved to be on top of his. As though accepting his genuine response. Chara began to smile BRIGHTER--    enjoying  the emotion  she got from him. It was so easy to toy with-- Yet... It’s not like she could truly   b r e a k   him. After all. He seems so  DAMAGED  already...

But perhaps that’s  a test  of her  ability.   To see how much farther he could be  PUSHED. Chara responds  quietly,   ❛ Well, I’m glad I wasn’t FORGOTTEN... I've missed you too, Dad! Even if for me... It hasn't been too long since I last saw you. ❜   Queue  childish laughter that  escaped  from her, a hand went to cover her mouth.  ❛ But... It’s been a while for you, hasn’t it ? Can’t say I’m...  UP TO DATE  on the changes that’s happened around here ! ❜  Chara grabs a hold of his hand and moves to hug his arm.  ❛ I don’t suppose  ASRIEL  came back like I did...?  ❜  Chara knew full well Asriel didn’t come back. But she played it up, with a softly curious look, red eyes wide and rounded.
