Annabeth gets stranded on Calypso's island. Kissing ensues.

Annabeth has many she blames. 

Firstly, Calypso. Lovely Calypso, who dragged her from the storm drenched sands and into the warm confines of her cave. Who cared for her, listened without judgement to her story, weathered though her moods, and who kissed her—was currently kissing her. 

“You’re doing that thing again,” Calypso says after breaking their kiss.

Annabeth stares after her lips, pink and wet from their activities. The thoughts in her head slow a little when Calypso’s hands untangle themselves from her blonde hair and trail down to cup the sides of her neck. “What thing?”

“That thing you are still doing.” Calypso’s tone is playful, eyes squinting in the sunlight. “Thinking.”

“I’m always thinking,” Annabeth says after a moment’s pause, breath uneven. Then she pulls Calypso closer to her and kisses her fiercely.

She wants to blame the gods for this. 

To her mother, who sent her on a dangerous quest to begin with. Who starved her of affection and instead fed her logic and reasoning. Logic that was impossible against Calypso and her quiet island. Reasoning that was useless against a frantically beating heart and a need so great it felt endless. 

To Zeus, for punishing Calypso in this way in the first place. For undoubtedly creating the storm that brought Annabeth to Ogygia. For ignoring his promise. For continuing to keep Calypso imprisoned here. For believing himself better than all others. 

To Aphrodite, whose constant meddling was more dangerous than anything Gaia or Kronos could ever cook up. Who was the only one to visit her in her dreams since coming to the island, who gave her a bit of chocolate before turning her heart to ash. 

“You can’t stay here,” Aphrodite had said, and Annabeth’s heart had burned twice over. Once at the thought of leaving Calypso. Another for the realization that Aphrodite was right. “Your path continues elsewhere.“ 

Annabeth feels hands trailing under her shirt, soft fingertips stroking the skin of her stomach. She groans softly and rolls Calypso beneath her, sand prickling against her bare legs and feet. “You need to behave.”

"Why?” Calypso says. She bites her lips and continues to let her hands play along Annabeth’s skin. She’s blushing, pink tinged across skin darker than Annabeth’s own, and no matter how innocent her face looks, Annabeth can see the hunger in her dark, black eyes. 

Annabeth takes in a sharp breath. She’s at war with a foe she doesn’t know how to beat. What could she do against curves and breasts and long, caramel-colored hair? How could she think with such a creature below her, squirming against her, wanting her. When could she finally still the want eating at her insides, taking her over, commanding her to lower her head. To kiss at the skin of Calypso’s neck and revel in her whine.

Her friends as well. They are to blame, aren’t they? To Percy, who never set fire to her heart like Calypso had. To Piper, who stood by and watched with a strangeness in her eyes, like she knew of Annabeth’s future. To Leo, for not warning Annabeth of Calypso and this power she could wield over another. To Frank and Hazel for not getting to her in time during the storm. To Reyna, for forcing Annabeth to acknowledge her attraction to girls. To Jason for—because—

“Please,” Calypso gasps, fisting her hands into Annabeth’s hair as Annabeth’s lips reach the thin cloth covering her breast. “Please, Annabeth.”

She blames herself more than anyone else.

Conquered, defeated, and hopelessly in love.

annalypso’s so pure. such a Good. like.

calypso quite understandably has some Adjustment Issues when she first starts living at camp

and tbh annabeth isn’t all that concerned about it at first

like, it’s not that annabeth resents calypso. just that annabeth has a lot of her own shit going on and she sort of just expects other people to take care of it. the calypso situation. it’s nothing personal, it’s just not a priority to her.

but then maybe annabeth (and lots of other halfbloods tbh) start to see a therapist and she’s told that she sometimes should try to relax instead of like, hyperfocusing and overworking herself to the point of sickness and exhaustion. 

the problem being that annabeth doesn’t know how to relax because if she’s not doing something productive then she’s wasting time and she can’t waste time because doing that kind of feels like the world is ending (gotta love that ptsd)

she tries drawing (it doesn’t pan out). she tries reading (n remembers why she doesn’t care about reading).

they both find a solution when calypso asks chiron about the enigmatic concept of “school” and chiron has to tell her regretfully that he doesn’t think she’s ready for a school environment while annabeth is in the room

but calypso’s Kinda Upset because she’s missed a LOT and she wants to learn. math, geography, literature? history??? pls!!

so after a few more weeks where annabeth fails at relaxing, at finding a hobby, she tracks calypso down and asks if she’s down for like some really informal tutoring from yours truly

and like. calypso is a Good Student. she listens, asks questions, follows along. she’s gentle and nice and polite and annabeth can let herself lose a few hours every week to letting some of her knowledge out. putting it to good use. relaxing.

calypso asks about new york. annabeth tells her the history, and about the layout of the city, its most important architectural achievments. and because calypso asks, annabeth tells calypso about architecture.  

like? annabeth sneaking calypso out of camp to show her the buildings in new york, bring her up the statue of liberty, gushing about her knowledge of architecture to someone who’s like genuinely interested and just as amazed by it as her??? 

like annabeth sketching out building designs and muttering about math stuff and Architecure Things and everyone is like…idk what you’re saying but ok and calypso’s there like Actually Following Along and nodding her head and offering alternate ideas

calypso wanting more freedom eventually, like wanting to See The World so annabeth starts off by vouching to chiron to let them share an apartment together in the city? 

and calypso probably still has moments where it’s Too Much but luckily annabeth is alright with staying in w her on the couch, watching netflix documentaries and adding her own commentary

calypso probably keeps a lot of house plants too and it works out well because annabeth gets messy and forgetful sometimes like if calypso wasn’t there the blinds would be shut and her living space would be relatively depersonalized but instead it feels more like an actual home

ad;jfalskfj NEITHER of them are good at bodily hygiene tbh like annabeth is forgetful and Busy and calypso lived on an island by herself for centuries like. it’s good that both of them Understand

the concept of annabeth getting job offers all over the country and overseas and taking calypso with her to see the world with her, i’m. 

it actually probably takes them a little while to actually like get together but by that point they’re both basically best friends

they also have a lot of similar Anxieties when it comes to relationships because they both fear abandonment and they both crave permanence and yet they both hate feeling Trapped in one spot 

so like yeah can you imagine annabeth and calypso designing their own house and traveling the world and being free and having a place to come home to at the same time??

also i just gotta throw this in but they love having sex asf;ja;sdlfkj 

like calypso has never had the opportunity to know someone long enough to know their body so intimately n she LOVES that she knows annabeth so well, exactly how to make her feel good?????

ok and they’re both real tender with each other

also they have their own little quirks like annabeth sometimes doesn’t want to talk, just wants to Focus, and sometimes calypso doesn’t want to be touched or go out, n they both Get It

Hey how about we erase the idea of Calypso and Annabeth hating each other (because girl-hate is just so unnecessary) and instead have them bonding.

Show Calypso feeling terrible for the curse she put on Annabeth, apologising through her tears as Annabeth holds her close and says it’s all in the past. Show me Calypso teaching Annabeth how to garden and truly sit back and relax. Show me Annabeth taking Calypso around the world, telling her all about the various architectural sites, and Calypso being enraptured by them. Show me Annabeth and Calypso working together to create a garden, having sleepovers while they work out what will go where and what flowers to use. Show me Calypso holding Annabeth as Annabeth relives the horrors of Tartaurus in her nightmares and doing everything in her power to help Annabeth. Show me Calypso fussing with Annabeth’s hair since Annabeth never does anything with it, and Annabeth rolling her eyes but letting Calypso do what she likes. Show me helping Calypso when she has a panic attack because of how overwhelming this new world is, and finding ways to help handle this in the future.

i loved this show so much when i was younger and so i’m going to share my headcanons for this au. @dontcallmestraightorcis made a post and i just wanted to share these:

•piper as rikki, calypso as cleo and annabeth as emma. •idk about the lads but maybe jason as zane, leo as lewis, percy as byron and frank as ash? •so a bit of background: calypso and leo dated for a while before realising they were both gay and instead became best friends •and basically calypso and annabeth had been the best of friends since they were babies basically and, around a month or two before piper shows up, the two of them admit their feelings to each other and start going out officially. (leo, their other best friend, is so supportive and helped get them together in the first place). •annalypso just are incredibly gay for each other and madly in love. then piper moves to that part of australia and so, like in the show, the three girls end up on mako island on a full moon. •the three girls get their powers and follow more or less the original plot of the show. •however, one thing is different. piper is madly in love with these two girls who she knows are madly in love with each other but also madly in love with her. •leo (the super polyamorous gay he is) can tell that they all sorta like each other and liken it to the start of his relationship with frank (the stable guy) and percy (the star swimmer). •calypso catches on and comes out to her best friend leo as being also poly and then coming out to annabeth. annabeth splutters out that she’s also poly and the two spend an entire night talking about it. •they end up telling each other about each of their crushes on piper. •so the two girlfriends come out to piper whilst at the moonpool incredibly awkwardly but the end result is the three of them being girlfriends. •piper and annabeth get really competitive about who’s fastest but it’s all in good fun. •calypso loves being able to have her own underwater garden. •piper hates not being able to surf anymore but being able to swim at incredible speeds whenever she wants definitely makes up for it. •three badass mermaid girlfriends.
