Ectopic fat- Ectopic fat is defined as storage of TG in tissues other than adipose tissue, that normally contain only small amounts of fat, such as the liver, skeletal muscle, heart, and pancreas. Ectopic fat can interfere with cellular functions and hence organ function and is associated with insulin resistance.

White adipose tissue (WAT) represents the largest proportion of whole-body AT and can be found around major organs and blood vessels in the abdominal cavity and subcutaneously. WAT stores excess energy in the form of triglycerides, and increased accumulation of WAT, particularly in visceral depots, is a key determinant of the relative risk for cardiometabolic disorders, hypertension, and Cerebrovascular Disease (CVD). To this point, fat distribution dictates CVD risk such that individuals with higher visceral AT and ectopic fat have an increased prevalence of cardiometabolic disorders including hypertension, dyslipidemia, and insulin resistance compared with equally obese individuals with less visceral AT and relatively more subcutaneous fat.

My dermatologist-approved skincare routine

I have relatively ultra-sensitive skin prone and this is truly the crème de la crème routine that has done wonders for my skin. I get compliments all of the time for my flawless skin so I have decided to share my routine. I have near perfect skin that hasn't been touched by any professional treatment yet, including botox.

This routine has removed my acne and scars from sun damage in less than a few weeks. I did countless of research before purchasing each and majority of these products were recommended to me from dermatologists as well as my older friends with amazing, wrinkle-free skin (45+) who swear by these products. Oil-based cleanser:

Rohto Mentholatum - Hada Labo Gokujyun Oil Cleansing [$15]

This oil cleanser is truly the best in the game. It takes seconds to remove all impurities and heavy makeup from my face. It truly is the cheapest product that I've found to work for me.

Water-based cleanser:

isClinical Clinical - Cleansing Complex [$45]

This is truly the best. It completely removes anything that I might've missed and feels incredible. My skin adores this.

Toner:

Obagi Medical Nu-Derm Toner [$43]

It took a lot of trial and error to find a good toner. My skin would become irritated insanely easy with other toners that caused rashes. This is truly one of my holy grails, I use it after every step.

Face mask:

HANACURE - All-In-One Facial Set [$110]

Just trust me. Nothing will ever top this. I typically use one once a week and that's all I need.

Essence:

SK-II- Facial Treatment Essence (Pitera Essence) [$99]

I swear by this product. The greatest in the game. You automatically will feel the difference. I cannot live without it.

Antioxidant Serums:

C E FERULIC® with 15% L-Ascorbic Acid [$169]

This is impossible to top. There's no product like this. Truly the best Vitamin C in the market. My dermatologist sent me to this after I suffered from sun damage that resulted in sun damage. I use this every morning and a little goes a long way. It stings a bit and has a funky smell but I promise, if there's one thing every woman should invest in, it's this. It improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, creates a brighter complexion, and improves skin texture and discoloration.

Eye cream:

SkinCeuticals A.G.E. Eye Complex [$105]

Like I said, SkinCeuticals is the best brand out there. Everything they claim, they deliver.

Serums:

Sunday Riley - Good Genes All-In-One AHA Lactic Acid Treatment [$122]

I cannot live without this. I apply it every night and notice drastic changes immediately. 10/10

Tretinoin:

Tretinoin Anti-Aging Cream .05% [Prescription needed]

If you're over 18 and not on tretinoin, you're failing at life already. The earlier you start, the better. I owe my lack of any professional facial treatments thanks to this beauty. You can only get it via dermatologist. 60 year old you will thank you for this.

Face cream:

SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2 Anti-Aging Lipid Replenishment Treatment [$136]

Every older woman I've met swears by it. This is truly the best facial cream in the game. I apply it twice a day and I love.

Of course, I could never forget sunscreen.

Sunscreen:

EltaMD UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46 [$39]

I apply this product every morning under my makeup. I never step foot outside in the sun without this sunscreen. One of the best sunscreens out there, especially for women with darker complexions. It does not leave a white cast on my olive, dark beige skin which I love. It's sculpted to perfection.
