How are you doing?⁠ It's crazy days out there, I know. I've been functioning somewhere between "business as usual" and "the world is crashing down around me." Just taking it day by day.⁠ ⁠. How are you staying sane through all this?⁠ ⁠. Over here in my corner of the world, I'm trying to keep this small business chugging along. So I'm going to do my best to keep it business as usual, with a focus on what you need right now.⁠ ⁠. What would you like to see from this account? I want to focus on contributing something positive, or at least distracting, for you all. . I personally love zoning out to chainstitch embroidery videos, and I know a lot of you feel the same way - so I'll be posting more videos so you can chill out and pass the time too.⁠ ⁠. One thing that’s brought me comfort is getting to see what other people are doing in their corner of isolation. It’s a nice way to “connect” when we are all so separated. So I’m going to try to do more of the same. You can get some little behind the scenes views of how I’m spending my time and what projects I’m working on. ⁠. Tomorrow, I'm going to have a new product shop update (as planned), with a few new styles of chainstitch shirts. ⁠I’ll also include a way you can help out those who need it most right now. ⁠. ⁠I’ll also share some other ways you can show your support for small businesses. And some cool free resources people are putting out to make the day more enjoyable. People are doing cool things out there right now! So I’ll try to pass along what I find. . For now, stay inside. Are you hanging in there, out there? In this crazy time, I’m already realizing how nice it is to have a platform like Instagram to “stay connected” while we’re all stuck inside. I like seeing how you’re passing time in your pod. It’s really cool to see so many resources being shared for helping those most affected by all of this. We’re all in this together, and your posts are keeping me entertained, so THANK YOU! . So if you’re new to Club Chainstitch, I think it’s as good a time as any for an introduction.👋 ⁠. My name is Ann.🙂 When I'm not hunched over a chainstitch machine, stitching up custom embroidery, I am probably knitting, sewing, or mindlessly scrolling through IG (just keeping it honest).⁠ ⁠. ✨I've lived in Chicago for the last decade. and in Kansas City for a couple decades before that. The midwest vibes run deep.⁠ ⁠. ✨I get really excited (obsessed/fanatical/crazed) about reality competition shows. I go hard for Survivor and Big Brother, and I'm probably listening to a recap podcast right now. ⁠. ✨I once won a drawing for a year's supply of milk. I was a small child, so the value of the prize was definitely lost on me. (Although it’s 25 years later, and I'm still bragging about it, so.)⁠😎 ⁠. ✨I try to be a healthy adult, but I'll forever have a triangle sized place in my heart for Cool Ranch Doritos.⁠ ⁠. ✨If I go too long without engaging in some type of "creative making", I start to lose my damn mind. New year looking bright 😎 I’m hitting the New Years goals hard this year. Looking back, I think my only set goal for 2019 was: MAKE MORE MONEY. Goal achieved, let me tell you what. But this go around, in addition to continuing to make more money (always🤷🏻‍♀️), I’m focusing more on my own personal development. Cultivating new habits, better managing my anxiety, investing more energy in the relationships in my life. Moving my body more, creating an intentional capsule wardrobe.
