Just in case Trump wins:
right after Trump was elected in 2016, suicidality skyrocketed. If you’re considering suicide in the wake of the election this year, at least wait until after it’s absolutely certain that he’s won - after every vote has been counted, every state certified, and maybe even after he’s been sworn in (IF he wins), just to make sure he doesn’t go to prison instead. Watch the results come in live here, but don’t obsess or let them sway your vote. (To be clear, I don’t want a single person to commit suicide over the election results, no matter what. But I know from experience that “don’t do it” is thoroughly unhelpful, so instead I’m saying at least wait.)
if you’re considering suicide because you fear worsening material conditions, you might think a hotline can’t help with that. and it’s true that they can’t change legislation or promise you’ll be safe. but it’s worth double checking whether what you’re actually hurting from is in fact unfixable. right now, just getting through the emotions can help you regain a more objective view of the situation, and then you can work on surviving it. plus, when something bad happens, we tend to vastly overestimate how bad it will seem in the future, no matter how bad it actually is.
In my experience, it might take a few tries before you find a hotline that picks up, either because they’re so busy, or they’re closed at that time, or they simply don’t serve your location or demographic, so under the thingy I’ve listed more than just the same handful that tend to show up on other websites. Even if you’re not actively suicidal, you can talk to them about your hard feelings, ask for material resources, or just vent to a compassionate listener.

For the love of God and your cat, don't buy that fake robo litterbox that's super cheap and hitting all the online retailers. I actually want to break things now, none of the buyers deserved to have that happen to their cats.
#this is for those who couldn't view the previous post#i saw the post a while ago#but watched the video about it#and now my blood burns#just knowing how those owners had been traumatized makes me want to yell

PSA: BAD LITTERBOX
i don't usually make posts like this, but this is a truly upsetting topic to me as a lifelong cat owner, so i feel i have a duty to share my knowledge with others.
there is a type of automatic litterbox for cats being sold that is EXTREMELY dangerous and has killed numerous cats through blunt force trauma, suffocation, etc. this litterbox is being sold under different brand names and logos, so i will include the picture of the model and two links to informational videos with more evidence and eloquence than i am able to provide.
please consider not having this type of litterbox in your home for your furry friends. me and my 16 year old tortie, puddy, want the best for all your kitty friends
image of litterbox below:
here are my two video links that provide proof and testimonials of this harmful product:

text dump - don't reblog
I don't talk much on my blog, but… like, I dunno I just gotta get this out of my head.
I came across an post where someone who genuinely responded to a question of homophobia as a no they just don't agree with their views/actions because of their belief in Christianity. And like, there's a lot to unpack, but as someone who grew up in a Christian household, claimed that faith, listened to sermons 3 times a week, went to a kinda-strict Bible college for about 7 years, read the Bible so much… That doesn't work. I'm asexual, no sex drive, didn't realize that's what made people struggle so much with abstaining till marriage and stuff. other than making kids, I didn't get why people would want to do that. I believed all the anti-gay rhetoric, but with a "Jesus loves you" twist. The whole "love the sinner/hate the sin". I didn't get it. We used the scriptures to back up those beliefs. Just as we've used the Bible to defend segregation, slavery, imperialism, genocide, and loads of other crap that does not promote God's love or mercy. We point to a different people with a different historical context and say "that's us" and appropriate the history of early Jewish people, making one-for-one correlations, enabling this behavior. And most of us American Christians are gentiles, go figure. There's more to queer folk than just doing the sex, it's how we're attracted, it's how we present, it's how we just … are. This sounds dumb and it's hard to word, but just is. If we want to be treated with respect and love, then we must treat them the same. If I want my asexual experience taken with respect, then I must give their experiences the same respect. If I want to be same and accepted as a genderqueer person, then I must show the same acceptance to theirs. It is impossible to fully love or accept someone LGBT+ when you view what they are as a sin. It's "I love you, just don't be you". There is no trust in that, only fear. No safety, just anxiety over how much we can be our self around you. No peace, just a sorrow and an ache knowing what arguments await us if we come out fully. There's so much more in my head, but I can't get it al out. If this has some of you disappointed in me, please, for the love all that is good just block me here and on other platforms. I don't want to argue Bible verses or discuss crap, I don't want to lecture and be lectured to. Just block me, and move on. Please. I'm tired.

REBLOG if you are old enough to remember what a VCR is.
#reblog#VCR was just a part of life#we taped so many things off TV back then#one of my early memories was watching the video game boss fights and endings that my sister recorded#this was way before video on the internet was a thing#so this was one of the rare ways so know how a game ended if you couldn't play#and proof of beating them
