Okay so just to sum up recent events on the US Right:
• Trump starts a contract with Peter Thiel's Palantir company to create a database of ALL INFORMATION on EVERY LIVING AMERICAN
• Its revealed Stephen Miller and Elon Musk have had a very massive fight, supposedly because Elon Musk is sleeping with Miller's wife
• Trump ousts Elon from the administration, after over five months of being besties. Leaves with Stephen Miller's wife, who he just hired at one of his companies (!?)
• Elon starts saying the Big Beautiful Bill sucks
• A GOP Representative reveals that most of them didnt actually get to read the Big Beautiful Bill, GOP leadership basically made them rubber stamp it and they are pissed to find out it makes them all look horrible. A lot of them are now discussing a shakeup in GOP leadership.
• Trump says Elon has "Trump Derangement Syndrome" (🤮)
• Elon escalates massively, stating that Trump is in the Epstein files and THATS why they havent released them yet
• This comes right as Alex Jones loses a massive chunk of his audience because he's endorsing Trump's Palantir contract, and his fans are basically all very concerned about their privacy. They want a new conspiracy to follow and they just got one
• Trump starts threatening Elon's government contracts
• Ian Miles Cheong calls for Trump to be impeached immediately, and for JD Vance to become President. Elon Musk quote retweets this with "Yes"
• JD Vance was mentored by Peter Thiel
• Steve Bannon takes to Fox calling for the immediate deportation of Musk, and making SpaceX a public company

[gripping the sink] perfectionism does not help me avoid embarrassment or shame. perfectionism is in itself a form of shame. when i struggle with perfectionism i struggle with shame. when i struggle with perfectionism i struggle with shame. when i struggle with perfectionism i struggle with shame

small and easy health tips that make a lot of difference
wash your face every night - washcloth, warm water, and a simple cleanser will do wonders. plus, warm water helps make you all sleepy for bed
take a multivitamin every day - and keep an eye open for coupons for them. usually multivitamins have some pretty great coupons
if you can, open the windows every once in a while. fresh air does a lot of good for your body (and state of mind)!
keep a few cleaning supplies in the bathroom. every so often after having a shower, give things a quick wipe-down. the steam from the shower dislodges any sink guck, making the job much easier - and never underestimate the power of a clean bathroom for both physical and mental health
keep a water bottle by the bed and drink some water when you wake up. it’ll help you greet the day a little easier, and plus - whose mouth ISN’T as dry as the sahara when they wake up?
it’s not always easy, but try to make doing dishes before turning in for the night a habit. i can’t express how lovely it is to wake up and walk into a clean and tidy kitchen
keep snacks in the fridge that are delicious and healthy - my faves are strawberries, cherry tomatoes, and grapes. i love snacks. plus, there’s not really much prep involved with those kinds of things
sweep! sweeping takes up a bit more physical energy, but it’s become one of my favourite things to do. i put on some nice music and visualize sweeping out not only dirt, but anything else clouding up my space - negative energy, self doubt, etc. it’s a nice, witchy little ritual for me now.
light a candle, specifically one that smells delicious
identify the things that make you feel better about yourself and your surroundings and prioritize them and only them when you’re feeling sucky. that way, you still feel accomplished, but you aren’t using up all your mental and physical energy trying to run through all your tasks/cleaning/etc
remember that you’re doing these things for you, and not anyone else. you deserve to feel happy and at ease!

biggest misconception i used to have about programming is that there is such a thing as "programming" in the first place. its like saying you can do Sports because you know to walk. theres not much in common between a gamedev who uses godot, an insane guy working on the linux kernel and a mathematician who plays with python a lot. obviously things overlap but these are very much completely different disciplines, and unlike other things ive taught myself like drawing or animation or 3D modelling or another language, there isnt a "threshold" where you suddenly just Get it and feel like you could do or learn anything if you just werent lazy. or maybe there is and it just takes a fuckton of years to get there. whatever
#in a serious sense: agreed#in a funny sense: there is a threshold and that threshold is having the Audacity and a lot of free time
