I woke up this morning trying to look at last night's Oscars from a positive pov, so I played The Fame (2008) by Lady Gaga to improve my mood.
It's amazing how the tracks on this album haven't aged a bit. All songs feel fresh and if they were released now, they would be complete bangers. Lady Gaga was truly on her A-game for this album. She had something to prove and she did it. Songs like Poker Face, Paparazzi, Lovegame, and Just Dance feel as modern as you could imagine. The sounds are very 'brat' as the new generation might say, but most youngsters have no idea that The Fame is the original Brat. The Fame crawled so Brat could walk.
This era left us with iconic music videos and live performances that will forever live rent-free in my mind. She was my personal hero back then, and I still admire the evolution of her artistry to this day. I will forever be grateful for her making me and all my LGBTQ+ friends feel empowered and unafraid of living our true lives.
That VMA performance where she was covered in blood was the moment I became a Little Monster, and I will forever be one. I am just so excited for Mayhem coming this week.

Lady Gaga is a music icon, a fashion teacher, and an enjoyer of art in general. If you haven't followed her career, I implore you to do so; however, do not consume her art from the perspective of a pop star, but from an artist's perspective. She is a master of her craft and a knowledgeable artist.
