I can’t for the life of me understand why scarian is so popular. Not even in a “I hate this ship” way or even an “I hate Shipping in general” way. I mean that my brain genuinely doesn’t understand what tropes/dynamics are pulling people in so much that it’s by far the most popular life series ship. There are so many other popular or even unpopular ships I can understand the reasoning behind. Like treebark for example is known for leaning in to the bit quite a lot and are seemingly not overly uncomfortable with character shipping. Gempearl has a lot of Angst potential. Skizzpulse and Ethubs have been friends for over a decade. But Scarian?

Scarian I can understand kinda in 3rd life, I mean the ending alone has tons of tragic/doomed implications. But In a season filled with angst in all the main factions…. Especially when Flower husbands for example has a much more overtly romantic plot… I just feel like there are better options. And afterwards? I would honestly be more opposed to shipping it than anything what with the discomfort they both seem to have about it as well as double life clearly making them more dysfunctional than “shipping goals”. Is it a popularity thing with the CCs? Is it because they’re supposed to be doomed?

This isn’t even a situation where I think my stance is correct or anything. If someone genuinely explained what dynamic they have and maybe another ship that has their dynamic so I can get a better hold on the idea I’ll back off :p

So tempted to maintag this so I too can get people to tell me why they like it so much

I come from the days before 3L was a thing. Grumbo stood supreme in the shipping world. Scarian was there, a few fans were around. But it was all based on actual interaction and not fan built lore. To me, basically all of scarian is fanon stuff. S6, s7, s10 and 3L are the only good seasons with scarian interaction rahhhh I have feelings about this.

A lot of ccs dont like to be shipped, which is why I like to check with their stances on it before going ahead with making fanart and stuff. Content theyd actually see. Doc, Ren and Martyn are fine with it afaik but people like Xisuma and Gem aren't a fan. I think if we're able to move away from portraying Tango as a demon because he felt uncomfortable with that, we should be able to not make shipping content in the public where ccs can see. A lot of newer fans dont even know about the tango thing and thats so wild to me, but I guess now everybody portrays him as a blaze we're not running into that as much

People who are mad about Pearl getting out in this session and are going around mad at Jimmy need to remember that 2 of Pearl's deaths were caused by her going around to trap other people's bases as a green and one of her deaths was to Grian. Her final kill was Jimmy defending himself from getting final killed himself, too. Plus the villies final killed someone before even turning red, so I don't see why a red getting someone out of the series is even so bad.

That being said I do love Pearl </3

I love pearl too, she tried her best and the Plot gods did not smile apon her during that session

I unfortunately have not watched any of past life due to 1. depression and 2. my personal boycott of certain members of the life series (dont ask its a long story)

Brooo i hate this fandom sometimes, people usually recognize Hermitcraft and the life series as less toxic than the DSMP/QSMP side of the mcyt fandom, but people in the life series fandom are fucking FOUL sometimes. Can we go back to s7 hermitcraft before the life series was a thing and everybody got along and I dont get harassed for preferring Tango's content over Grian's?

Can we please stop with the sbi Aus where Tommy is the angsty little meow meow and is being neglected/abused by the rest of SBI? I get the DSMP was angsty but he is NOT the only one getting traumatized here.

Secondly, kindly stop with the same rigid family structure of Phil being a single dad to the kids. If anything the actual dynamic of SBI is Techno having to act as a responsible older brother or dad. I love Phil so much but making him ‘dad’ and nothing more is infuriating to me.

While I am on topic, let Phil experience the horrors more pls. There's this really great creator who has a dark sbi au where Phil suffers the horrors and its like the only one i’ve seen and QSMP has shown us this man very much experiences the horrors, but no one ever really seems to care?

Ok last complaint but I've seen too many Aus that still include Wilbur and like- guys its 2025. PLEASE CAN WE STOP WITH HIM. I know seperation of character and creator exists but like still- just let it go.

I will NEVER understand the habit the Life Series fandom has of drawing so many of the members as youthful and thin. The youngest members are in their late 20s and they are in the minority. There are so many creators in their 40s yet It’s so hard to find fanart that dares to add things like more diverse body types and signs of age like wrinkles and facial hair.

I think the most obvious example to me was with Tango. I started getting into the series well before I saw any fanart so I had my own preconceived notions of what his common headcannons were. I always imagined people would draw him as scrawnier but I was genuinely so confused just how YOUNG he looks. It’s especially obvious when he’s next to designs of the other Arizona dads and they look twice his age. And don’t even get me STARTED on height differences! that could be a whole other confession with my takes on it

Long story short: Use the large, varied cast of people as a chance to draw more than the same 2 types of characters you know how to draw

As a tangotek fan...... give that man some CHUB. He is just a dad from Arizona please don't make him a twink.

Im a big fan of both @/amberwrens and @/erosquartz's design for him bc he looks like just a guy!!!! Just a guy but on fire!!!!! He is not a flame twink he is just a dad.

Also same goes for Impulse, makes me so mad seeing him twinkified. Ugbhfhfhfh

I think it’s pretty cool to have a songwriter (sparkbird) in the fandom. Their songs are really good

I'm not personally a fan of their music but im a fan of who they are as a person !!! Just not my style. But they're definitely cool

Ok so here’s the thing: a few months back I created a life series au and fic that are based off of one of my favorite Disney movies

Then a week-ish after the fic is posted, I see a similar au from someone else (it’s not copied at all, some of the character placements are the same and that is it)

And I am seriously not mad at all, their art for the au is wonderful and I seriously think they are the coolest.

However it’s slightly painful to see my fic doing ok-ish when it’s still some of my best work while their au gets so much praise (again, deserved praise they are great)

thats so fair, its kinda sad to see your work not do well and already be comparing yourself to other artists

George ok maybe I get his entire social media presence under the GNF name is essentially dead now. Sapnap has no excuses though he still has a platform big enough to defend Dream

So this happened last year but uh-

I went to a con and showed off on tumblr a hotguy/CuteGuy body pillow keychain I got, and one of the comments I got on that post was from someone who got the full sized body pillow, and so I went to check their blog because oh cool some other cosplayer in my state!

So I am kind of just looking around when I see a picture of them and their husband doing a hotguy and cuteguy cosplay together (really cute)

And imma be honest I’m like 90 sure that at least one of them works for my school because they both looked so familiar (despite me not seeing them at the con)

when I was first getting into life series past Ldshadowlady and Joel povs and hardly knew anyone In the life series fandom let alone the Hermitcraft fandom I had this really weird dream where grain ( who I didn’t even know at the time was called grain ).

basically him and me where walking in the forest and he falls into a ditch and fucking dies but then everything resets and we’re walking near the ditch again and he tells me he has to die and I’m like no you can’t and he dies anyway so I hold him while crying before I die myself I woke up confused and on then day I finally learned all the lifers names.

oh and I used to think grain was the owner of Hermitcraft because of his fans generally making it seem like he owns the server from how much they glaze him/j

Kind of related but also unrelated to the Quackity drama topuc, he did have a pedophile scandal once because his brother was a pedophile.
