If they make Hyun Woo to lose his memory as well. That'll a well rounded supremely stupid plot but now I want it to be that.
Let's see how much more frustration this drama can deliver with the finale remaining.

The way I saw this coming from miles away. The writers are using every trope every cliche and strangely I'm okay with all this. Because the actors are making it all worth it.
That said you know it all ends well. It's a romcom after all🙃

Finale days of qot. And I need Eun Seong to rot in the worst way possible. Give him a glory end if you want even. Just do it.
Give us the romcom that was promised. You have 3 hours makers. Make it count or else I will. But not watching any of your future works.

online communities are so strange because people slip away so easily. you can be on here for years, folding people you've never met into the fabric of your daily life, and then they disappear, leaving only ghost posts scattered across tumblr behind. or their blog stays dormant, for weeks, months, years, until you're only still following them because you remember that they love sunflowers or they were kind to you when they didn't have to be or the last thing they posted was sad and raw and you still worry about them sometimes.
and sometimes they come back when you least expect it, years later, even, and there's this sudden rush of relief like there you are, there you are, even though you barely knew each other.
there's a strange kind of love to it. i don't know you and i want to hold your hand across miles and time zones and oceans. i can still see the imprint of you in this community you left. you don't anyone will notice or care when you're gone, but we notice and we care and we wish you well.
i hope you're all okay out there. i hope the sun is shining on your face and you are breathing deeply. i miss you.

Hae-in at the prison trying to figure out Hyun-woo's role in her life: 🤔
Female guard to Hyun-woo: times up handsome
Hae-in automatically: hey that's my husband you're speaking to. Keep your eyes and comments to yourself. Don't make me come in there

They crossed all levels of stupidity with that memory gone thing. But I was there ugly crying because Baekhong are sadder than ever while Hae In doesn't even know why she's sad.
Queen of tears doesn’t hold up to any kind of logic but you know the vibes are nice so I’m going with it lol

every queen of tears episode is just
hyunwoo crying
hyunwoo screaming "HONG HAEIN" while running or "HAEIN-AH!"
haein strutting in a cute fit and saying something boss bitch
eunseong being a delulu freak
business plot
family makjang drama
baekhong soulmatism
soocheol going "DA-HYE-AH!!!"
hyunwoo crying
eunseong stalking haein
sad epilogue
and i eat it all up!!

The end will really make or break the show's legacy.
I'm really afraid that Queen of Tears is going to be one of those Kdramas that just trips at the finish line and I end up retroactively disliking it. I was so captivated previously, but I saw this amnesia switch-up plot from a mile away and I don't know if I can get over how stupid it is...
You have two episodes left to redeem yourself!

The first episode was literally this. Hyun Woo was treated lesser than the Hong family by the family in spite of the knowledge that he is smart and competent. He was doing all his work but deep down he was tired of it all. His friend was his only support. He was so distant from Hae In that he probably didn't see her anymore.
So the news of her being terminally ill while shocking just tipped him off. He saw a chance to escape it all. He didn't want to be an empty vessel and also didn't want to handle the ruthlessness of the Hongs. He just wanted out at that moment.
But deep down he loved her. Which is why the automatic I love you after Hae In tells him about her illness. The constant check ins to check she was okay. Whilst all this was played out as comedy, the understatement was Hyun Woo was still in denial.
Enters Eun seong and he's again aware of Hae In. Trip to Germany and reminiscing and he remembers he loves her. The mortality factor is just starting to sink. And when it fully sinks he is inconsolable. Also Hae In is now more vocal and he knows that she values him, she lives him in her own way, deeply and eternally.
So yeah he's a human after all. He made some mistakes but he owns them.
I'm halfway through the show, Queen of Tears, and something that I've seen floating across is the anti Hyun Woo sentiment regarding how he treated Hae In initially and was just trying to do it all for the will.
Something to understand here is that in situations such as his, where he was emotionally empty and just a shell of himself who was just functioning, he didn't have the bandwidth to understand the gravity of situation that was Hae In's terminal illness.
In Hyun Woo's mind, he didn't have Hae In's support anywhere, be it against his in-Laws or in the company. She is silent against her family and hostile and argumentative in the company. He doesn't know what all she does for him on the sly or in backstage. He is not aware and Hae In never made the effort to change that situation.
All that pressure, anxiety, gear and emotional drain took its toll on Hyun Woo's emotional capacity. Stuck in a state of constant negativity, his initial reaction to Hae In's illness might be a form of self-preservation. He shuts down completely, unable to process the additional emotional burden of her mortality.
Something to remember is also the fact, that although he was thinking of it, the one thing that pushed him to draft the divorce papers were the talk of their child, whose entire identity and life was being decided by Hae In's family while she had no opinion on that and couldn't care less. This entire situation fueled the fire of resentment burning within Hyun Woo. Here was Hae In, seemingly indifferent to the future of their potential child, the very thing that initially distanced them. It felt like a repeat of their early struggles, where her family held all the cards and Hae In remained silent, leaving him to battle alone.
This perception, however flawed it might be, explains his impulsive decision to draft the divorce papers. Exhausted and emotionally hollowed out, he saw the child issue as the final straw, a symbol of their inability to stand together. He might have been grasping at a desperate solution, a way to force a change in their dynamic, a cry for her to finally fight for him and their future.
Of course, this doesn't paint Hyun Woo as a hero. His actions were undeniably hurtful, a clumsy and emotionally charged attempt to solve a complex situation. But by understanding the immense pressure he was under, the constant negativity seeping into his core, we can see a flicker of vulnerability beneath his anger. He craved Hae In's support, her voice alongside his in the face of adversity. Perhaps, the divorce papers were a twisted plea for her to finally break her silence, to acknowledge his pain and fight for their future together.
Here's where empathy becomes crucial. While his actions are undeniably hurtful, it's important to consider if they stem from malice or a desperate attempt to cope.
Think about it this way: Imagine a cup overflowing with negativity. Hyun Woo's daily struggles with his in-laws, the lack of support at work, and the constant emotional strain have already filled his cup to the brim. When Hae In's illness is revealed, it's simply too much for him to handle at that moment. He doesn't have the emotional space to understand the gravity of her situation, let alone offer support. in fact, it's easy for him to consider her death as an easy escape since his capacity for empathy or his love for her was essentially buried under all that negativity.

3o years of Anjaam. And the movie is actually so brilliantly made. The fact that it stands tall even after 3 decades is sad for society but what an achievement as a film.
Gave Vijay Agnihotri. The epitome of male ego coupled with unlimited resources. Doesn't care for anyone and will break you if you even look at him wrong. Not a single chance of redemption given to him. And he deserved everything that came back to him. Was so chilling that I forgot it was srk for a while.
Tumblr media
And then the lady herself. I love love it when the ladies are credited first. It feels nice that such movies were made and are being made. We're still far off but it's something.
Shivani played by Madz is a common lady who is living her life pretty well till Vijay sees her and it turns to a living nightmare for her. She is given a bare 5 years after that first fateful meet to be happy and then it's tragedy galore.
A man who can't listen to her Nos. A husband who dies after not listening to her pleas at all. A sister who dies after years of domestic abuse. Children die too. Shivani is left with nothing but a rage. A rage that burns all those who wronged her.
Tumblr media
The brilliant finale is what makes this movie a tremendous watch. The absolute rage with which Shivani kills all those people made me so happy. The cherry on top was her not killing Vijay right away but heal him to make him feel his death. Now that's revenge.
Yes she sacrifices herself in the way but it is powerful. To see a man being beaten to death by a woman he wronged is as satisfying as it can get.
This movie is a proof of Madhuri Dixit being the superstar she is. And srk again slaying as a psychotic obsessive lover. God he really went from that to his lover boy era. Wow.

Episode 14 has been watched. And I can safely say that we are getting the happy ending.
Next episode eun seong bitchass gets caught in the trap hyun woo laid out for him. And Hyun Woo gets out because he got a smart lawyer friend. Hae In is confused but that's okay. Hong family will save baekhong this time.
Soocheol is fine everyone. He's faking it. Remember he learnt the first lesson of boxing is faking it. So this Hong will be fine too.
For the finale episode Seul Hee tries to avenge her son but is struck by Grace's car.
And the show ends with Beomja's fourth wedding in yongduri.
Epilogue. Baekhong go on trips and baby 1031 is incoming soon.

The nation is going through the wringer right now. And if we fail this time, all will be gone.
I hear the terrible speeches of this man and just wonder how did he get the reputation of being a good orator. But then again there was also the myth of western ethics and international organizations that actually work for people across the globe.
Growing up and witnessing that the world is filled with greedy humans who do not give a damn about human lives has been an unsettling revelation. I do not know how to.accept this reality because deep down I still believe good wins at the end. But when does it end? The end of all ends??
