the gender role subversion of hyun woo (and the son-in-laws married into the family) being in a position and undergoing treatment usually reserved for women combined with the class differences and oppression that comes with marrying into a family with immense wealth and power is so interesting esp. when other characters comment on either how he's lucky to marry into a rich family when the reality is the opposite or consider him a gold digger and undermine his capability and intelligence

like, even situations and treatment that would be considered as a given if he were a woman are seen with sympathy for his state by other (male)characters. even tho ojs's character as a doctor was supposed to be a fun cameo, it did add a lot bc after listening to hyun woo he was so grateful for his wife and that he wasn't living his life when like. actually ur wife could probably relate to a bit of hyun woo's experience!

my favorite scene in today’s episode has to be when hyunwoo was going to return the new engagement ring but haein had to reveal she was trying it on, then made an excuse that it’s only to “analyze trends” so he mustn’t misunderstand her intentions. yes, it’s funny and cute. but we see that hyunwoo is getting better at reading haein beyond what she tells him, an improvement from always being an oblivious fool taking every word she says at face value. he understood the subtle i rejected your proposal not because i don’t love you and don’t wanna be with you. and the teasing at the end that he’s not gonna return it so she can always analyze trends whenever she wants? oh im proud of my parents

ok i know the kiss scene at the end of episode 5 of qot is iconic, but i don't see anyone talking about the hug that happened before the kiss?? i honestly like it better than the kiss scene because of the emotions and intensity that came with it. the way i'm getting teary-eyed just thinking about it lmaodhfjks

when haein told hyunwoo that she just wanted to go home with him after being rejected for the treatment and he made this face before pulling her into a desperate hug?? mans broke down

you can literally see the regret and guilt that he felt for letting haein go to germany alone(although she didnt let him know), as well as the realization that she's not as tough as she pretends to be, that she's scared and she needs him, and that she still loves him!!!

this hug is so precious because it is made up of all the things and feelings they couldn't say to each other for the past years.. look at how they're holding each other... i broke down, i tell you!!! this scene made me feel a lot of emotions and got me wailing like a little child, i need people to talk about it more

The Qot-Qítiō culture area encompasses the peoples descended from the Qot colony, founded around three centuries ago by the Senq Ha Empire, situated overseas. The Qot colony was one of several colonies founded on Uanlikri with the intention to conquer and settle the famed Land of the Moon. The Senq Ha's colonization efforts resulted in mass death and displacement on the western peninsula and beyond.

The Qot colony was the only colony to successfully rebel and secede while the Senq Ha Empire was still strong. Decades later, the Senq Ha, weakened by prolonged war on the homeland, would abandon all their colonies. This would put a stop to the colonies' expansion, as infighting inside and between the colonies diverted resources from conquest. The Qot, already independent, fared better than the others for a time.

Qot was one of the colonies founded by the Senq Ha Empire in their effort to conquer Uanlikri. It was settled by voluntary colonists of the majority ethnicity of the Empire, the Setsé, and by forcibly resettled Qítiō, torn from their families on the mainland. Feeling disfavored by the Empire and inspired by the Gichan rebellions in the South, the Setsé allied themselves with the Qítiō and expelled Senq Ha rule. The secession was violent and resulted in loss of crops, livestock and people, loyalists and rebels alike.

In their efforts to rebuild and remain independent from the other colonies, the rebelling Setsé and the displaced Qítiō borrowed many practices and customs from eachother. The Setsé independentists took on the name of their colony and became the Qot. Some Qítiō remained with them, while others returned to the nomadic lifestyle that had been theirs on the mainland.

Some thoughts while waiting for ep 13

So I was watching the preview for episode 13 and something picked my interest and that is haein showing off her ring twice.

Many thought that was cute and are awaiting for it, I am too

however, after watching the preview many times, I don't think it's simply just showing off but her amnesia is getting worse

I guess this is when she accepted hyun woo proposal since we can see him very happy and hugging her

while in the second scene

He somehow has a sad (kinda forced?) smile

haein accepted the proposal but she forgot she accepted so she told him again which might explain hyunwoo's expressions

it might be me just overthinking but the thing that is for sure is I need episode 13
