Tbh, related to my last post, a dynamic I love but hardly ever see in fanworks is that of Dia with an MC who fuckin hated him at first. Always getting annoyed by his antics, calling him out on his sometimes questionable decision-making, constantly at odds with him. And over time, reluctantly warming up to him, probably still giving him gentle bonks at times but not getting as genuinely heated about it.

Why, you may ask? Yes, enemies to lovers is great, but doesn't this dynamic make more sense for Lucifer? But you forget a core part of how Diavolo functions in relationships: he feels like people are only around him because they have to be. So to have someone who used to be very vocal about disliking him? Well, he knows that, if that MC really didn't want to be around him, they wouldn't hesitate to tell him to fuck off. (They've probably said meaner things than that let's be real)

But they don't. They willingly spend time with him and they text him stupid memes that made them think of him and they sometimes get mad at him but they still stay.

Now look me in the eye tell me that isn't a perfect dynamic for Diavolo.

MC says "fuck" when talking to Diavolo and he gets unreasonably excited about it. Like it's something that MC doesn't even think twice about, but that level of informality is so foreign to Diavolo he can't stop thinking about it for the rest of the day.

Okay here's my hot take: while I only will write (and have any interest in) dom!MC, I do headcanon most of the characters as being switches rather than exclusive subs. And like, for the most part, Levi, for example, being a sub is a pretty ubiquitous fandom opinion. My more controversial stance is that one of those, if not exclusive, at least heavily preferred subs is Diavolo.

Okay this is my last post about the Christmas event (probably) but man. Is it ever reigniting my love for Asmo. He's the perfect balance of sweet and an absolute menace.

Honestly, all the characterizations were absolutely fantastic, but Asmo is usually given such crumbs that him actually having a personality again stood out in particular. Ngl this might finally dethrone the 2020 genie event as being my favourite event plotline.
