28 Years Later is bathed in the blood of life, death and rebirth. It is a quarantine unseen by most, creating a deep misunderstanding of what lies beyond the land and customs we comfortably bear witness.

There is briefly lived though uproarious humor during the second half of the film. Doubt, fear, courage, triumph and deadly hubris all dance in sets between the living, the infected and the dead in a controlled burn. The mainland is covered in verdant, lush, rolling hills that hold stalled, degraded engines and buildings of the past. Our past.

Small communities laughingly somersault between the high grass and above the rocky cliffs, dealing violence when necessary and unnecessary, as threat or end.

A shrine of death 💀 watches with towering, empty sockets, where sight once grasped the materialist, conscious plane we call home.

Evolution between those with the disease of Rage and the rest of humanity--with unknown, latent end--swims to and fro an island that opens this all-watchful third eye.

It is worlds away from that quiet, abandoned London hospital and post-coma patient from so long ago. 28 Years Later is Eden at war with itself.
