behold! by Endurance we sit comfortably, or something
based on That One Photo by Frank Hurley, which I am obsessed with, this has been my main project this year. it's doubleknit, so theoretically reversible, although the seaming means that one side is much neater than the other. it was a stash yarn project, including 100g of sock yarn from a shop in Bergen (the blue) and 100g of handspun sockish yarn from Tormisdale Croft on Islay (the grey), so about as far from Antarctica as it's possible to buy yarn 😅

There's a brand new Oak King Holly King short story awaiting you when you subscribe to my newsletter.
The Unveiling of Daniel Durst - wherein fae and mortal secrets alike are revealed, and Mr Grigsby learns the truth at last.
This brings the newsletter story total up to four. (And possibly more on the way...?) Including...
♡ Valentine (an Aubrey & Lindsey tale), wherein Aubrey is forced to celebrate his birthday for the first time in his whole life. ♡ Silver & Bone (a Fiorenzo tale), wherein Enzo fulfills a promise to Fiore. ♡ Bruises Bloom in Blackthorn Briar (an Oak King Holly King tale), wherein we see a pivotal scene from a whole new point-of-view.
In addition to these four free stories, you'll also receive updates about beta reading opportunities, ARC offers, and new releases. (The number of readers who are to this day still surprised to discover that Oak King Holly King has a sequel? Don't fall through the cracks like them. Be alert! Be the first to know! Be a newsletter subscriber!) You'll never miss another book!
And thank you for reading!

So, fun fact about the skinned FurReal pony - I got the ID wrong, but only because Smores and Butterscotch's necks are semi-fixed in position, and I didn't think to google if the image I had of Butterscotch was mirrored.
The skinned horse IS Butterscotch, not Smores, but all of that's besides the point.
The reason I'm making this post is that y'all need to know that they skinned Butterscotch to turn her into a flamethrower

Over on Patreon, just posted a first chapter sneak peek of something spicy coming in autumn...
~
London, England 1892
Riplakish Witchbreed didn’t know the man’s name.
He did, however, know every inch of his body.
The man’s age lay somewhere between five-and-twenty or forty summers, by Riplakish’s reckoning. (He’d never asked the man outright, but his mortal mother and subsequent experience had made him more skilled than most fae in reckoning mortal years.) His pale cheeks bore the faintest hint of freckles. He was doe-eyed, with long lashes, a sharp nose, and voluminous side-whiskers. His hair, cropped just above the ears, tumbled in walnut waves that appeared particularly becoming when plastered to his brow with sweat and tousled into errant curls like horns.
On occasion Riplakish had even glimpsed his smile. When it did appear it came at the end of their liaisons, a queer fleeting thing—the teeth a touch crooked, big at the front and sharp at the side—and all the more handsome for its rarity. But only after Riplakish had broken down all the man’s self-command, his stoic mask crumbling in ecstatic agony, leaving him with nothing to hide behind.
Riplakish had grown to love that smile.
And, alongside every inch of his body, Riplakish knew precisely what the man needed.
“Strip,” Riplakish commanded when the door to his boudoir had locked and shut and the heavy tapestries hanging on every wall secluded them from the outside world.
And as he’d done so many times before, the doe-eyed man swiftly obeyed.
The sober charcoal-grey frock coat, trousers, and waistcoat were folded up with a precision and care that Riplakish found rare in most London gentlemen of his acquaintance. The crisp white shirt with its pinstriped sleeves gave way to dark hair in a pelt across the doe-eyed man’s chest that trailed down over his navel to a nest of dark hair beneath and spilled down his thighs to his well-turned calves. Even without the generous tailoring of his coat, the man proved broad in the shoulders; the strength of his arm suggestive of labour but the soft hands belayed that. Perhaps he’d taken up boxing as so many gentlemen in the City had done, though—judging by the lack of bruises to his face or hands—Riplakish didn’t think he’d ever entered an actual bout in the ring.
Which wasn’t to say the man lacked for wounds. Just that Riplakish recognised them all—because it was his own hand that had dealt them.
Riplakish hadn’t given the man his first scars. Might’ve turned him away if he’d come to him with virgin flesh unmarked by the punishment he craved. Then again, it might’ve proved difficult to resist the pleading of those dark doe eyes. The way his soft tongue stumbled over his words as he explained what he wanted from his hired companion and begged for Riplakish to ravish him.
By now, after two years of monthly acquaintance, the flogging scars across the doe-eyed man’s shoulders and buttocks had built up into a beautiful withy pattern.
Riplakish wrapped his hand around the cat-o’-nines; oaken handle braided over with tarred hemp, crafted by the doe-eyed man’s own hand, and which Riplakish kept especially for his use.
“Is this what you deserve?” Riplakish asked him, as he had done a dozen times before.
And as ever, the doe-eyed man replied, “Yes, sir.”

Just thought you should know that hasbro has announced an official long furby
No this is not a joke
Tumblr media
Kids these days. Back in my day we had to put the long in the furbies ourselves. We had to skin the furbies for tumblr. There was no other choice.

(From Costume Design and Home Planning, 1916.) I sent this picture to several friends and they all had different favourite aprons, so I'm curious! Mine's 3.
Edit: All 6 of them have pockets! In varying sizes and shapes, but all are very pockety!

hey we fixed it
Warning! This audio sample will be very unpleasant to your ears!
Just a heads up that tomorrow's episode is gonna be uhhhhhhhh delayed because Ken's computer fucked up royally and he had to transcribe and re-record his entire audio track yayyyyyyyyyyy (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ⋆✲゚*。⋆
Tumblr media
Fun fact, that is a wildly abnormal number of dropouts for an average recording session.
Tumblr media
Don't worry, Ken is on the case to decipher the remix of his own words.
