i am not the one of us who usually posts here, but i have something to say.

while x personality disorder abuse does not exist, this does not mean people with x personality disorder cannot be abusers. furthermore, it does not mean you should excuse their actions because of this disorder.

there have been many times where i have been in a harmful/abusive relationship to me and i excused it because "oh they have aspd" "oh they have bpd". abuse is, under no circumstances, excusable.

making excuses like this also furthers the stigma against personality disorders. personality disorders do not make you abuse people, and excusing someones abuse of you because they have a personality disorder goes directly against that. please stay safe.

no we have hyperphantasia and absolutely no innerworld. its an issue of low communication and having a hard time continuing to be consious away from front.

i strongly suspect that your visual imagination (how well you can visualize an image in your mind) is directly correlated to how much of a headspace you have. This would give a reason for why headspaces vary so much, and why those with aphantasia (from what we’ve heard) tend to lack a headspace.

-okay imagine the last time you felt sad. not crying sad but still really sad. now imagine feeling that way just because you see someone else sad. thats empathy. imagine the last shitty situation you were in. you see someone else in that same shitty situation and you feel bad. id say thats sympathy.

-it can be, its different for everyone. its called selective empathy/sympathy. me personally, i wouldnt feel empathy for a person like hitler or something. but i will sometimes see people talking about the good motives that people who did bad things had, and i feel empathy/sympathy. its hard to explain but its not like i agree with their actions.

-not necessarily. i havent done a lot of research but from what ive heard, while it can be a symptom of ASPD or something, sometimes you just dont have it.

im curious about something and figure maybe someone here could answer these questions (/nf) cause i have... no idea where else to post this: -what do empathy and sympathy feel like. i dont want the definitions of them but more of an explanation of what they feel like in the moment if that makes sense?? -can empathy and sympathy be situational/conditional? (like, can you instantly lose empathy and sympathy towards someone? can your empathy and sympathy be different for different people, even those you're close with?) -can having low/barely any empathy and sympathy be a sign of anything, cause if so, we wanna make sure to look into it just to be safe LMAO (we're slightly suspicious we may have one other thing outside of our current issues but we arent sure enough to look into things). if anyone can answer these tysm we appreciate it a ton /gen! -Ash
