Map of the Soul: Persona Tracklist Analysis + Theories
Remember to follow me on Twitter: @/Introvert_Mochi
Here a link to a thread I wrote before the tracklist or the first ‘Boy with Luv’ teaser came out.
Link: ”https://twitter.com/Introvert_Mochi/status/1111497849613762560
Here’s my other Tumblr/Twt threads that relate so you can cross reference.
Persona Concept Photo Analysis + Theories: https://antisocial-mochi.tumblr.com/post/184045441489/concept-photo-analysis-thread
Analytical Psychology / Jungian Archetypes: https://twitter.com/Introvert_Mochi/status/1105177041769562113
Let’s start with Mikrokosmos
Tumblr media
Another thing,  Carl Jung drew mandalas to relate to the metaphor of the microcosm. He said that through them he acquired a living conception of the self. To him, self was like a monad full of unity, harmony, & balance of existence.
Tumblr media
In doing a little more research I found Mikrokosmos Ontology which is quite interesting, so I thought I'd share
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jamais Vu: (very interesting connects to quite a few things.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jamais Vu is very interesting to me because, it's a flipped Deja Vu. In terms of BU, it definitely makes sense for Jin.
Also, a video pops up when you google Jamais Vu and it’s... kinda funny tbh
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, let’s look at Dionysus. Bare with me because, there’s gonna be quite a bit of info.
Dionysus:(Also been associated with the LGBT Community) Symbols related to him include: Thyrsus, grapevine, bull, panthers and other big cats.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's interesting that they chose Dionysus out of all the 12 Gods. In the mythology, He the most victimized & looked down on out of the gods. He wasn't a part of the dodekatheon or equal member with the other gods, often classified as a semi-god. He was always picked at, others tried to persecute him multiple times.
Think abt it, the boys are or were kinda the same way. They were the black sheep of the industry. Anything they did was questions & they were ostracized up until a few years ago. Here's another thing-- Dionysus was connected to the words 'persona' & 'mask' (connecting to Carl Jung's work, which mentions him/ uses his mythology over 100+ times.)
He also the most immature god in the Pantheon. He eternally parties, not really caring abt his duties seriously until he was in trouble. Sounds a lot like the boys in BU, they act like rebellious teenagers that don't have responsibilities, until they're in over their heads & have to figure shit out . (Which causes way too many problems.)
Again Dionysus is commonly assoicated with the LGBTQ+ community, based on certain part of mythology, especially the transgender community.
Moving on the the tracklist itself.  There’s tracklist only shows 7 songs listed 2 of which we already have heard (part of at least.) Personally, I think there's more, there’s usually an average of 10-12 songs per album. However, it's paticularly  funny that it’s 7 songs.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They could be solos, but some could also be subunits, like many twt armies have been guessing at.  (We may also get multiple albums, like the LY series. If we go based on analytical psychology/ the Jungian Architypes, We could have a four albumed series, Persona,Self, Shadow, & Anima/Animus.)

Concept Photo Analysis THREAD:
Be sure to follow me on Twitter @/Introvert_Mochi I post threads much quickly there.
Related/connected threads:
Tracklist Anaylsis: https://antisocial-mochi.tumblr.com/post/184046387869/map-of-the-soul-persona-tracklist-analysis
Analytical Psychology / Jungian Archetypes: https://twitter.com/Introvert_Mochi/status/1105177041769562113
So, right a way, there's definitely an early 1900's feel to the photos, + the magic shop photos only add to that aesthetic. I'm not saying any of this stuff connects to anything, but there's just some interesting nods to the past I wanted to point out.
These were two of the items I was able to identify, thought I'd give a lil history lesson.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's two other items I couldn't identify as easily.  At first I thought was talcum powder/baby podwer, but looking closer, it has something to do with baseball- which there's another little history lesson for you. Some on Twt said in could have something to do with the Ariston Bathhouse raid in 1903. (Fitting into the gay cb agenda. I’ll link the person’s thread for that stuff here.)
Link: https://twitter.com/hetphobejoon/status/1113121457113124864
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was in Hobi's concept photo, but not in any of the others. It doesn't look like a hair brush handle because, when you look at the tiny pic of Hobi, the hilt is different. (Idk, just a weird detail.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Keep this gesture in mind, it’ll make more sense later.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The second set of concept photos give off the idea of what's shown to the outside world or what's expected of them, whereas the first set seems to show move of their true selves. (Which we’ll get more into soon)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m going to get into the grapes and such in a seperate thread, so look out for that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I kinda thought this was interesting given everything related to the grapes and the strawberries in mythology. (Love, Wrath etc. which are exact opposite of one other.)
“Anger that destroys evil” & “Love can defeat evil.”
 BOY MEETS EVIL
 BOY WITH LOVE
Moving on,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Someone put it perfectly, they aren’t revisting their past eras, they’re re-writing them.
Possibly anima/animus? (More feminine jewelry/accessories, clothing etc.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sope’s brooches
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
some of Hobi & Kook’s jewelry
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m going to go into Dionysus in another thread, I’ll link all the threads to together so y’all can read/ cross reference.
Let’s move into versions 3 & 4.
“Try to erase myself & make me your doll”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ver. 1 = Persona Ver. 2 = anima / animus Ver. 3 = Self Ver. 4 = Shadow (2 & 4 could be interchangeable)
I love that concepts 2 & 4 show distinct contrast to 1 & 3. As I mentioned before, ver. 2 shows a more external view of the boys. They appear more 'prim &proper' or some could even say, 'conceited.' (So focused on their looks)
Same thing in ver. 4 it's loud w/ all the designer clothing & jewelry. Their famous, their desirable, but if you strip of of that away, they're still ppl. They have likes, dislikes, insecurities, fears, dreams, hobbies etc. They aren't flat & lifeless.
Persona, the word in and of itself means, "an aspect of someone's character that is presented to or perceived by others." It's a character, an act- a mask shielding what's truly underneath, hence the lying + the body language to match.
You can pile of the makeup & expensive clothing on that you want, but it won't make you less insecure, nor hide who you really are from yourself. Looking at versions 1 & 3, you see the stark shift in the personality of the photos. They feel more genuine, true to who they are.
It'll be interesting to see where the album itself goes. I feel like some songs may be louder, in the respect that, they'll talk abt how far they've come, where they are now etc. But I think they will also be 'softer' songs, reminding ppl that they're still human, they still have emotions, fears. They aren't perfect, they're still growing and they're okay w/ it. In Intro: Persona, Namjoon already started feeding the idea of, " Yeah I'm on top of the world, but I feel so out of place. I'm not worth of all the attention being thrust at me."
"I'm held on such a high pedestal and expected not to fall. I'm so caught up in this world, I sometimes forget who I am, who I wanna be, if anything at all."
And even tho they look happier in ver. 1 & 3, doesn't mean it's necessarily true. Remember, they have a constant facade they need to keep up. They have to smile through whatever may be going on in their lives because, they're public figures now.
They have to be perfect. It's all cotton candy clouds and rainbow glitter, nothing goes wrong in their world... The little box rooms in ver. 3 could symbolize the feeling of feeling trapped inside your on head, feeling like you're locked away in some aspect.
Side note:  This is kinda related... The 'map' is on the back of the PCs and it's almost identical to the Young Forever maze.

Daydream MV//Song Analysis & Theory
So, we know that Daydream is about having dreams, aspirations, goals etc. that one wants to reach some day.  It's about working hard & finally meeting a point in life that your happy with, however, with reaching this point, it comes with a whole new set of struggles & consequences. Like Hoseok kinda points out in the song, he's not able to do 'casual' things like more people can. (Going out to a bar w/ friends, hanging out in public spaces etc.)
Basically talking about how some are able to make their daydreams a reality, at a price; while many may never progress to the point & may never know the hardships that coming with 'making it' in whatever career or goal one is set on.
An idea struck  with a quick scene in the MV that brings a new perspective to the whole idea of the song itself.   There's a quick scene that shows Hobi wearing red tinted glasses. This got me thinking of the phrase 'Rose tinted/colored glasses.’
Tumblr media
Basic definition of the phrase: "An optimistic perception of something; a positive opinion; seeing something in a positive way, often thinking of it as better than it actually is." This could very well make sense in terms of the song's meaning of, always seeing becoming popular, rich, famous etc. as amazing, easy, &  fulfilling; when in reality, it's really not. There's so much pressure to do well or make good impressions, preserve an image. Once some get famous, they try to justify the imbalances in their lives.People will try to rationalize everything that's negative or wrong, just so they won't lose what they've worked for; or they'll push it away & ignore those things all together.
And as most of us know, it's ten times worse in Asian countries. So maybe, part of the meaning behind the song is... Make sure you understand what you're getting yourself into. Be sure it something you really want because, you may never have 'normal' like you once did.

Hobi x Jimin x Airplane Theories
So, many speculate as to what airplanes represent in the BTS Universe. One theory I haven’t seen is, the planes being a representation of a (youthful) dream or success. Specifically the Hoseok’s dreams/aspirations & how JM ties into Hobi’s ‘destiny.’
In the lyrics of Airplane, Hobi talks about when his dream to fly in an airplane first sparked. He also mentions about how he remembers the group’s first flight to Japan, often reminiscing about it.
Tumblr media
Some have said the airplane represents going international or becoming successful. (in this case, BTS becoming successful international entertainers.)
Going on that theory, let’s look at Daydream. The song talks about how, while Hoseok has fulfilled his dreams, it’s come at a price. Things like privacy and usage of vulgar language becomes next to nothing. Being like everyone else, enjoying the simple things, becomes harder.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
IDOL is an anthem saying, ‘Yeah, I’m an artist. Call whatever you want, I know who I am & what I want, no one’s gonna change that. I’m me and I’m proud of that, I. am. Enough.’ It’s sort of the aftermath of figuring everything out & just being done with the BS. (Again, be see an airplane in the MV.)
Tumblr media
So, how does JM fit into all of this? Well, as we know Hobi and JM are a pairing within the universe. We often see them together in the MVs throughout the eras. There’s so many theories about how they came together, why they may have grown apart etc.
Another big theorized thing is why JM is always looking up. Some tie into Hobi, while others connect JM to the other boys. What if the reason JM is always looking up at the sky is because, he’s daydreaming about where Hobi may go in life.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What if Hoseok’s told him about his aspirations, say when they were in the hospital together. Maybe they shared common dreams, helping them build a friendship. (Which is why they would often hang out, have pillow fight etc.)
Tumblr media
In the Notes, we know that Hobi’s always been there for JM, always saving him. Maybe Hobi finds he needs to take care of himself, follow his dreams, without dragging JM along. (Hence why we see he leaving JM in Euphoria.)
In the highlight reels, we see JM record Hobi while he dances. Later we see him practicing that same dance, eventually clashing with the girl and getting hurt. Maybe the reason JM works to the point of hurting himself is because, he’s afraid Hoseok will leave him behind. (JM sees Hoseok’s potential, which could be that daydreaming about Hobi’s possible future I mentioned earlier. He wants to fight to keep up, but never quite being where he’d like.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the Notes, we know JM’s parents aren’t really there & he’s alone most of the time. (Later, he gets lost & hides in the arboretum, subsequently having a seizure there. I’m not sure if Hobi was the one who found JM, though I do remember Hoseok at some point gets JM to the hospital following a seizure. This could also explain the painting of the trees that both boys are connected to, since arboretums are mainly made up of woody plants. )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
JM’s always been abandoned, but Hobi was his saving grace, a constant in his life. Then to be faced with the possibility of one of his only friends being taken from him, it lights a fire under JM to work harder; to match Hobi’s skills, so as not to be forgotten.
(In JM’s Notes for LY Answer, he talks about running away from the hospital & never facing his parents. Hoseok tells JM to follow him, and took him back to his house. He feels safer with Hobi, than with his parents.  He was anxious about telling them he didn’t want to go back to the hospital, so much so that he even felt like he was going to have a seizure. Later, however, we learn that he’d dreamt the whole thing. JM often dreams of leaving the hospital & joining his frineds. He resents the whispers from others & hopes Hobi doesn’t see him like everyone else does. JM seems like he relies an awful lot on Hoseok for constant support; something he can’t afford to lose in his current situation. Hoseok in earlier Notes talks about always being the positively in the darkness, always being the happy one, even if it’s forced at times. It has to be exhausting, makes you wonder how much longer Hobi will put on this character for those around him.)
Perhaps JM knows he doesn’t have the amount of talent that Hoseok has, & he’s a bit jealous as well. In one of the behind the scenes, JM even comments on this fact.
Tumblr media
When the girl brought the cake to Hoseok towards the beginning, maybe it’s a personification of an opportunity Hobi had gotten to pursue his dreams. Or maybe the cake is simply a congratulatory thing FOR said opportunity.  It would explain why JM becomes infatuated with the girl & the dance. (He wants the same thing, so he works to be as good as Hobi. Later in the LY Answer Notes, Hoseok is trying to teach Jimin dance choreo & finds that JM isn’t necessarily making mistakes, but creating his own style of the dance, his own version.)
Tumblr media
Then, when he’s hurt, Hobi takes the girl, instead of JM. Maybe that’s Hobi seeing a possible jeopardizing factor to his opportunity & decides to run with it, completely leaving JM behind. It could explain why JM looks so sad & betrayed when he sees Hobi running with the girl in the rain.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The, if we go back a little,in the Lie MV, we see several references to Hobi, even seeing Jimin reach out to a bed parallel to him. Almost as if he’s feeling isolated from Hoseok, trying to reach out and connect. Then we also see feathers floating in the air, harkening back to their pillow fights. We also see Hobi covered in feathers in his MV short, plus there’s a glass filled with pills in both. (Not to mention their outfits are complimentary.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then in the Spring Day MV, towards the end when their about to get off the train, Hoseok wakes JM; that way he isn’t left behind. Yet, in Euphoria, he seems to be leaving him/unaware of his presence. (Although we later learn in the notes that JM is the one who catches Hobi just before he tripped down the stairs, chasing someone who he thought was his mom.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Their pairing is really interesting because, there’s any number of outcomes due to different connections & hints. It ultimately comes down to your perspective & what you make of certain situations. Their both troubled youth that have come together, forming an odd, yet seemingly unbreakable bond.

Airplane pt 2 Japanese ver. Analysis/Theories
First of all, JM is sitting next to a brown piano in the corner. Many connections (BST, First Love, Fake Love, Yoonmin's connection IN the universe etc.)

CB / New Era Theories & Connections
To me, it seems many others have noticed a lot of references to past eras, specifically HYYH, where a lot of the univere's plot/message started to pick up. The first major thing is Namjoon & Taehyung's hair colors. When BTS walked the red carpet for MMA 2018, Taehyung and Namjoon came out with red and purple hair, very similar to HYYH/Wings era.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then, there's the whole "Nevermind" tattoo on JM. (Referencing back to their stage at MAMA in 2014.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then 2019's Seasons Greetings has a kind of HYYH feel to it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
All the subtle "Throwback" themed things like Euphoria, 5th ARMY, the concept photos for ver. S for LY: Answer, the abstract/cliche 'kpop' theme that the IDOL used in the visuals. Even FESTA, the whole theme was throwback or "Re;view & Pre:view" Another big thing is blue & red. There've been so many uses of the colors blue & red since WINGS, hell probably even farther back than that. (Exs: MAMA 2016, FESTA 2018, Seoul MV.) There’s also some clips from Singularity.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Different VCRs that've been shown at awards shows & concerts. (There've been little light glares in the videos to make them feel like old home movies and such.) Hell! even Taehyung's one look in Fire, he has one red eye contact & one blue.
Tumblr media
And also! in the stages for MMA 2018, there was uses of blue & red in the stage pieces. In Fake Love, the boxes were lit up in blue light. In Airplane pt 2 and IDOL, there was lots of red or red-like lights.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now could this mean we may get some answers / conclusion? Possibly. Maybe Something will change somewhere & maybe RM is able to pick up the phone and help Taehyung, hence the scene in Seoul. It's definitely not the end of the universe though, for sure. (On 06012019 the twt page @Smeraldo_Books popped up and started posting stuff revolving around the notes. Many speculate there’s going to be a book explaining the universe in its entirety. Personally, I think if anything, it’ll explain the smeraldo story that’s been created, before the entire universe, but who knows.)

Jungkook Theory Thread
So, I’ve talked about it in a past thread, but in having more discussions with a friend of mine and rewatching MVs a few times, I have a bit more to add to the theory I’m going to discuss.
I threw out the theory a while ago that Jungkook may be in a coma or coma like state. I explained how it could explain JK’s constant hyper awareness, seeming to always be a bit behind, and JK’s ‘outsider looking in’ point of view.
This state could’ve been induced when Seokjin hit Kook. If you remember in the Fake Love MV, Jungkook is always looking in at the other guys. Each of the guys seem to be going through grieve in some manner, this has to be a huge thing to happen if everyone is suffering.  As we know, JK’s weakness of source of grief is watching his Hyungs be in pain & not being able to fix it.
Something like their youngest brother getting severely injured or even put in a coma.
Now Jungkook as we know, always seems to be hyper aware in certain situations. The thing is, a lot of times it’s almost as if he’s behind a little; or like something doesn’t add up.
Like in a dream.
Another thing like mentioned earlier is Jungkook’s perspective. It’s like he’s on the outside looking in, observing.
Like an out of body experience or astral projection.
One thing with out of body experiences or projections on another plain is, a lot of times they’re brought on by extreme trauma. They’re also mentioned quite often in accounts of near death encounters.
Many people have said that it’s as if time stops, you’re aware of what’s going on around you, however, you can affect any change. Another thing with near death encounters is, many say your life literally flashes before your eyes. Some relive memories of the past, like some of their best moments in life. Others say you feel at peace, like you’re floating.
Now think about this... If Kook had a near death encounter during the car accident, a lot of loose ends could be tied up.
It would explain his perspective through the universe, why he seems spaced out during some of the most painful or most beautiful memories/moments.. Also his lack of affect on situations around him, like he’s observing them rather than living within them, in the moment.
This could fit into the scenes in Euphoria, where we see Kook on the rooftop, looking peaceful.
Maybe Jungkook is in a coma and some of the boys, like Yoongi for example goes to visit him and just talks to him. Maybe his memories or dreams are affected by things Yoongi’s told him, hence why sometimes things don’t quite add up.
Maybe that’s why in VCR (final wings tour) for WINGS, JK doesn’t pass through the white light/door. Maybe he’s stuck. Same thing in the VCR for DNA and now the end scene in the Fake Love MV, JK is looking at the guys, confused. Like he’s trying to catch up on something he’s missed.
ALSO, in teaser 1 for Fake Love the guys receive their ‘fix’ of sorts and leave the Magic Shop. As soon as they leave, Kook comes bounding in, like he just missed them.
So maybe he’s ‘behind’ because he’s not physically with them.
In the lyrics for Euphoria, one translation I referred to talked about how he was unsure of what the feeling he was having meant, and wondering if they were apart of a dream too. (That’s the first piece in the beginning of the song.)
Here’s the second part of the opening in the beginning,
“ Dreams are a desert’s blue mirage The a priori of my innermost heart Becoming joyous like I’m choked for air My surroundings becoming more transparent”
First of all, he’s talking about dreams being illusions within our minds. ‘ A priori ‘ is  a Latin term/phrase meaning, ‘ relating to or denoting reasoning or knowledge that proceeds from theoretical deduction rather than from observation or experience.’
Surroundings becoming transparent? As if his life is slipping perhaps?
Another thing was in one of the sets of notes for JK, they talk about he limbs/body feeling weighed down/heavy. There’s also something mentioned about being asked about wanting to live, because living is always harder than dying.
I want to back track to the Fake Love MV really quick. Remember how we talked about JK catching up with the others? When he joins them in formation & puts the mask on, maybe that’s supposed to signify Jungkook waking up and joining them.
You may ask, ‘ Why would Kook’s hair be different then if he’s in a coma?’
If you think about it, time’s still moving, things are still changing. Now that Kook’s ‘awake’ maybe the new hair color is the show a new chapter of his life beginning.
{I have more to add to this, I just can’t remember at the moment. I’ll add it in if in comes back to me.}

Face Yourself and Love Yourself:Tear Connection(s)
ItSo, it’s been confirmed that the Japanese comeback album does in fact connect back to the newest album. So, based on things we’ve covered before, we know that Let Go is used in Outro: Crack. Since this latest album is about breaking up apart and heart ache, Don’t Leave Me and Let Go could feasibly work in. We’re going to get to that though, in due time.
So if we look at Crack, lyric pieces from Let Go are used in the song. What if that’s like saying, ‘Now that I’m ready to let things go, I can come to terms with the past, I can break free. Crack the facade of happiness that I complacently lived behind.’
It could also make sense in the universe. In BST, we know that Jin’s face begins to crack at the end. Maybe that’s an instance where Jin is beginning to come to terms with what happened to Jungkook.
Then, at the end of the outro, hear a skipping in the track. Almost like a vinyl is being played, but there’s something off with it. Something’s either scratched or perhaps cracked, causing the track to skip at the end. Again emphasizing that feeling of something being wrong or even fake.
Now, let’s look at the lyrics from Singularity. We know the song is about losing one’s self and getting caught up in something that’s not really sincere or real.
“ That sound is ringing again Another crack forms on this frozen lake I left myself behind on that lake My voice was buried for you “
“ 또 울리고 있어 그 소리가 이 얼어붙은 호수에 또 금이 가 그 호수에 내가 날 버렸잖아 내 목소릴 널 위해 묻었잖아 “
‘Another crack forms on the frozen lake.’ Does this mean that there’s a sort of subconscious realization bubbling underneath the surface, making you slowly aware of the truth? Cracking the facade of happiness?
Moving onto the storyline of LY:Tear and how Face Yourself ties in.
So first there’s Singularity. The song, as we just talked is about losing who you are and being lost and alone in your own thoughts. We have the questions starting to form.
Then there’s  Fake Love. That song’s about being someone you’re not, to the point you don’t recognize yourself. It’s also about just being sick of the lies and bullshit and not wanting to deal with it / partake in it anymore.
Next there’s The Truth Untold. That song’s all about feeling like you aren’t worth anything. Like you’re a monster, like your feelings and your wants are invalid. There’s also the feelings of wanting to open up and be true to yourself, but being scared of pushing away/hurting the person(s) you hold dearest.
134340 is all about being/feeling left behind or cast aside. Feeling like you really aren’t worth anyone’s time, since your so easily forgettable and replaceable. Not to mention, you still feel monstrous inside. Really it’s the disappointment of seeing someone/something you thought you could trust, rely on, is leaving you in the dust. On one hand you want to fix things, reach out and make things go back to ‘normal.’ On the other hand, you don’t want to bother, since you feel as though it won’t make a difference anyway.
Paradise is basically saying, ‘ Life’s like a race, you’re running aimlessly until you reach an uncontrolled, set goal. But it’s okay, you don’t have to race the same race as everyone else. You can set your own goals and go at your own pace. Find what makes you happy, what makes you want to continue living, fighting.’ So, now you’re trying to fill that hole in your heart and in your mind. Trying to replace the bad memories, the heart ache, with positive things. Things that make life worth living to you, no matter how big or small. Another way of looking at it is, when you look at a tombstone, it only shows your birth date and death date. What’s the most colorful and most complex is the dash in between. Your entire past, your life is rested on the single dash. Now I ask you, what’s a dash? It’s not just a separator of dates, it’s another word for a race.
Love Maze is about trying to understand and keep up with the endless, universeal, enigma that is love. Getting all twisted and turned around, with no resolve. Hitting a wall of frustration, feeling alone in your fight to figure out all the right answers; only to have the test constantly changed on you.
Magic Shop is like the full acknowledgment of  ‘Hey, I’ve spent so much time and energy worrying about this one thing, that I haven’t taken the time for self care. I’ve given my time to this person or persons, now I should focus on myself; fixing and healing myself.’ (It’s also a song based around and for AMI. Telling Ami to make sure we take care of ourselves, and not worry so much about the boys. That they’ll be there for us when we need them, just like we are for them. They’re also saying to make sure we’re there for ourselves too.)
Airplane Pt.2 is all about following your dream/passion and travelling all around the world, becoming popular, having all these nice things, yet still remembering who you are. Remembering where you started and where you still want to go. There’s also the underlying tone of, all the adulation you receive, yet it’s not what you’re looking for. It’s not fulfilling.
Anpanman is about being your own hero. Even if you aren’t super strong or super smart, you can still be a superhero, in your own way. Anpanman could connect back to Paradise, finding what makes you special and running with it.  Though the thing with Anpanman, in the comics, he’s not really a superhero. He doesn’t have the stereo typical superpowers, he can’t fly. His ‘superpower’ is being kind and helping others. So, it a way there’s a latent sense of fakeness there. Once again, playing into the whole theme of Fake Love and facades.
So What is essentially saying ‘ You know what, people are going to love me or hate me, no matter where I go. I’m going to be right in some eyes, and wrong in others. They’re not important though, I just have to focus on me and what I think of myself. So fuck it, fuck everyone. I’m going to be me, do what I love and nothing’s going to stop me.’
Outro:Tear is like the breaking point, or the floating period. What I mean by this is, for the most part, you’ve gotten through the worst of shit. You’ve realized what you were doing / what you were apart of was toxic. Though you’ve gone through many ups and downs, you’ve managed to, in the end, find your way out of it. You still have low moments, you still struggle, but at this point you’re just too over it to care. You’re so tired of being in pain and being angry. You just want to let shit go, you want to destroy any semblance of what’s caused this spiral. You want to break the chain that’s been holding you underwater for so damn long. Once you’ve done that, you can finally swim up to the surface and peacefully float.
So, when you look at each song and its meaning, you can really see the progression and the story. It’s like the stages of a break up or the stage of grief.
Now, you may be thinking how Face Yourself plays into all this. Well, Don’t Leave Me is about trying to hold onto something or someone who isn’t really there for whatever reason. You’re so caught up in trying to fix things, to save what’s already been lost. That sort of fits in around the early stages. Feeling lost and broken, wanting to change things, but can’t.
Let Go is basically expressing how, though it’s a hard and lengthy process, you just have to let go. You have to cut ties with what’s making you unhappy. You have to occupy yourself with mundane things, just to keep your head above water. The thing is, you’ve come to terms with this, it’s sad, but you’re okay with it. That sort of fits in around the stages of So What and Outro:Tear.
Let’s look at the intro and outro as well. We mentioned that maybe Crack is the first step, the first nail in the coffin of everything falling apart. Rundwanderung or Ringwanderung as we’ve discussed based on the meaning of the term itself, is mostly likely about going around in circles without resolve. That sounds familiar doesn’t it? Love Maze right?
It could also be argued, that the song choices that were made for their Japanese counterparts, could play into the story of the album as well.
If you think about it, Best of Me is like the polar opposite of Magic Shop. More specifically, these lyric clips.
"You got the best of me You got the best of me So please just don’t leave me You got the best of me" {Best of  Me} (Which this is repeated several different times through out the song. This could tie back to Don't Leave Me as well.)
 "You gave me the best of me So you’ll give you the best of you You found me, you recognized me" {Magic Shop}
So, it's kind of like a nod, but it's got a complete different light behind it now. Now, let's look at Spring Day and Crystal Snow. Both songs talk about the sadness and heartache of losing/leaving someone. They also keep within the same theme, referring to the cold and snow.
"It’s only winter here Even in August, winter is here My heart makes time run Like a Snowpiercer left alone I wanna hold your hand And go to the other side of the earth To end this winter How much longing has to fall like snow For the spring days to come? Friend" {Spring Day}
(Something to note, Snowpiercer was also the name of a movie. The whole premise was was about a group of people living on a train that never stopped. The group was separated into classes, then it’s found out the the poorer classes were being used to feed the upper classes.
First off, A train that goes around in circles, never finding a resolve or stopping point... Sounds like Ringwanderung. Secondly, if you remember, the mv for Spring Day takes place predominantly on a train.)
"Like snow piles up, I remember what you gave me You gave me the courage to live"
"Crystal snow only holds an ambiguous shape I can't bear my story of unrequited love Eh I’ll manage to change it on my own" {Crystal Snow}
Moving on to BST, when you read the lyrics, it sounds an awful lot like a toxic, borderline abusive relationship. Whether that's with a person or not, is up to your interpretation. The song itself reminds me of Fake Love, in the respect that, you know that this thing or person is bad for you. You know damn well you shouldn't be, yet you're drawn back in.
At the same time, you're sick of it and want it to stop, but something keeps stopping you. Then we have Mic Drop, Not Today, and Go Go. Those three songs all sort of fit into to phases of  'Screw everything and everyone who's brought me down. I'm going to be me, live my life, and be happy.' That acceptance and release states.
Actually, when you look at the lyrics for Go Go, it’s about unhealthy lifestyles. The song kind of pokes fun at the argument some have, believing that their unhealthy lifestyles that include things like excessive partying, gambling, alcoholism etc. are valid and justifiable.
Then we have DNA, which ties this whole sub storyline together. DNA has set the base foundation for everything. Striving for a perfect, unrealistic type of relationship. Of course, from there we have the downward spiral of event discussed above.
When you really look at each moving part of both albums, it’s hard to say that they don’t match up in some ways. It’s really interesting to sit down and analyze everything from different angles.

BTS FESTA D1
So for the first day of FESTA we were given the opening ceremony.
Tumblr media
It was so so good! ( I have to be honest, I was expecting something on the background photo to appear. Especially because as I listened to the song, it looked like the background was fading. Which it kinda looks like a close up on Neptune...)
However, this was the tweet paired with the link.
Tumblr media
First thing is there's Morse Code. Myself and many others got to work of cracking the code. Upon further inspection, we came up with BTSFV or BTS FESTA Five.
Tumblr media
I also put the code through several translators, just to see if there was something different that might work/connect. This is what I got. It's not much, but knowing BigHit and their love of having double sided, multi meaning thing, I had to make sure.

2018 BTS FESTA Schedule Theory
So here's my theory for the 2018 FESTA Schedule.
As we know there's the star sighs in the background, surrounding the logo. At first I thought that could represent the pairings. However, Libra is in between Virgo and Sagittarius, which that wouldn't work if we go off the guess that the pairings are being based off the order of the credits during the one comeback show. Then there was the thought that they represented the days of stuff being released. The problem with that is, if you go based on the month numbers, one, there's a skip between months 10 and 11. The only way that could work is if they posted at midnight, the threshold between the days. Which they've said and as we've seen, has been a pattern before.
I also noticed that there where rings around the logo, sort of like the Saturn rings. Then looking each event planned, I started to think that maybe things would come out based on the pattern. Starting with the outer rings and end with the inner rings or vice versa. Inner to outer makes more sense because the review/preview is aligned with their debut date sign, Gemini. Unless they start with preview and end with review.
Then there's the clock/clockwise theory. The only thing is some of the events are so close, that it wouldn't work. That is unless one thing is done earlier in the day, then the other is done later in the day. Which then plays into the inner to outer theory.
Some people have said that the order is based on order of the lines falling into place. I personally don't think that works, mostly because the pattern is too spuratic.
The rings around the logo definitely remind me of the Kuiper belt though, which is very interesting given the new info I add to my previous post.

BTS FESTA 2018 Teaser
First off, the teaser for this year's FESTA is a huge glitch. (Giving a nod to the whole Glitch Theory Party that happened a few months back.)
There also star constellations in the background. It's actually all of the zodiac sign constellations that correspond to each of the member's birthdays, as well as the date of their debut. Not only that, but there's a constellation up in the top right that some people, including myself believe is the cluster, Cetus.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Credit to Sweaterpawschim on Twitter for the zodiac constellation pic)
So my thinking is, since both LY: Her and LY: Tear have had themes of or references to astrology and astronomy; this is going to be a sort of tie in or extension. Not to mention, the Cetus constellation is also known as/drawn as a whale. That could tie in Whalien 52.
Tumblr media
*Update 5/31*
So, @ilsansqueen on Twitter shared what they believe is the audio backing the FESTA teaser. It's very convincing to say the least. I guess my Whalien 52 Theory actually could work.

@ilsansqueen also added this
https://twitter.com/ilsansqueen/status/1002206498796142592?s=19
In reading those two tweets I realized something, something that could also connect.
Tumblr media
Then just after I replied to @isansqueen, I went back to finish writing my theory for the FESTA Schedule, I was comparing last year's to this year's. Notice anything?

Fake Love & Wings Connection. + Theory
So, several people on Twitter, including myself noticed something very interesting about some of the outfits from the Fake Love performance.
If you look and Jungkook and Jimin's tops, they may look familiar.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If not here's a little something to refresh your memory.
Tumblr media
Now I decided to take things a step further. The zigzag circle is Yoongi and Jimin's circles combined. Taehyung and Hoseok's circles are combined, and JK and Namjoon's circles or combined.
So now, thinking in terms of the universe, what could this mean?
Well, Yoongi is JK's other half of their pairing. They fought and Yoongi sort of left him. As for Jimin, Hoseok's is his other half. If you remember Hoseok is always leaving Jimin behind. In Euphoria, Hoseok leaves Jimin to go save Taehyung from killing his father.
Taehyung was left/betrayed by Namjoon. Namjoon was also the one to convince/force JK to drink the absinthe. Yoongi in BST was the one who seemed to try and protect Jimin, while he always fought with JK.
Then there's Jin, who's alone. Hence the blank circle. (Which that could be because he's gone/dead.)
Then I started thinking about the dance choreo and who it sort of fits into the universe.
There are two instances where Namjoon his yanking JK around and JK tries to retaliate.
Then When the the line formation during Yoongi's verse, We see Taehyung lash out, to which Hoseok turns away, as if he's been hit. Namjoon yanking JK, and Jk turning around to hit him.
Jimin collapses and is seen holding himself. (Much like how he did during the LY highlight reels.) Finally we have Jin reaching to grab Jimin, but it's too late. (That could go back to the whole Theory thread I wrote based around Jin.)
So, when you look back in the universe and compare, it does kind of fit in.
Also in the beginning of the choreo, we see Jungkook fall to the ground, then Taehyung runs over and leans up against him. Then they both stand up.
That could work in so far as the notes. Both JK and Tae's pasts deal with abuse from their families.
So it's interesting to see how things match up.It makes me wonder if it was on purpose/planned.
