the purpose of friends is to have people who unconditionally hate your shitty exes & relatives. like maybe YOU have a complex relationship with your father but i sure don't. i'm outside his house with a gun. he's not the unforgivable asshole who raised me he's just an unforgivable asshole

real time multiplayer is of course a fun way to share the experience of a game with other people. but single player long jrpg parallel play (both of you playing the same game but some times watching each other or giving progress updates. or different versions of the same game !) is underrated too i think
