“You may want to guess again on who the parent is Niki...” He mumbled quietly to her as he stepped in, listening to the boy whine slightly as the stranger leaned towards him. Frowning, the mans yellow eyes fell onto Niki, letting out a slight sigh. “Though, he is a Conley...Thank you by the way..” The child’s eyes locked onto the Pokemon, he seemed more focused on her than the strange new woman! He mouths boofs toward the small doggo. Well it was a start right?

“Nikita.” Ryoku greeted her with a rather young blonde child in his arms, his eyes a familiar golden color to match the man’s. He wore a Growlithe themed hoodie! Peeking from the cop’s nook of his neck, the child let out a small whine at the sight of the unfamiliar face! 

“Mm…” The cop seemed tired, bags under his eyes, stress worn on his face as he gently bounced the child to get him to hush up. “This is..erm…” He Ryoku, for once, seemed nervous! Clearing his throat he finally got it out.

“Nikita, this is Ryu…C’mon kiddo, say hi to the nice lady…”

The child shook his head and whined even more, burying his face back into the mans neck and clinging to him!

“Ah! Welcome Ryoku!“ She pushed the door all the way open for them, And leaned towards Ryu, “And hello to you too, Ryu.“ She straightened up, and then grabbed Comet by the collar to drag her back inside, “I did not know you were a parent? Come on, let’s head upstairs. Akio isn’t here yet, so if you or Ryu are hungry, we’ve got food upstairs.“

“That would be for the best. I’m sorry for the sudden call Nikita.” he apologized over the phone. “Ah…you should give me your address too. And possibly answer the door with a Pokemon in tow, a friendly one please..” Ryoku muttered over the phone, the sound of him grunting as he picked something up. “We’ll be over soon.”

“Then I shall see if I can get ahold of him for you.“ Nikita replied, “Good day.“ 

After that, she hung up the phone, and quickly scanned through her contact list. Still, even after finding Akio’s number, and getting ahold of him, things didn’t happen overnight. It took a few days to schedule a time between Akio, Ryoku, and Chiyo’s appointments, and a couple more days for everyone to arrive. 

By the time someone arrived at the door, over a week had past. Even still, Nikita was expecting them, and it didn’t really catch her offguard. Comet heard the person at the door before anyone else did, and ran at the large Castle doors barking, before Nikita walked up and told her to ‘shush’, and pulled the Rockruff away from the door in order to open it. She didn’t know if Ryoku or Akio would arrive first, but she was prepared for either. 

She pushed the door open, and left it open for the guests, before greeting, “Hello?”

“That would be for the best. I’m sorry for the sudden call Nikita.” he apologized over the phone. “Ah...you should give me your address too. And possibly answer the door with a Pokemon in tow, a friendly one please..” Ryoku muttered over the phone, the sound of him grunting as he picked something up. “We’ll be over soon.”

It was Nikita who heard the phone first. She was carrying Chiyo into the media room, when she heard a phone start ringing. She placed the baby on the floor in front of the couch, and propped her up with a pillow, before she strolled over, and checked the Caller ID.

She didn’t recognize the number, but she shrugged and answered the phone anyway, “Hello?”

“Uhm...Ryoku? Akio’s older brother?” The man asked, cocking his brow down at the phone. “Because something has come up and I need to speak with him, urgently. I--” He was cut off, the sound of a slight giggle coming from the other side, a child’s. The man sighed slightly, “I don’t mean to intrude on anything important Niki, but...I think this takes priority...”

You’re going to make our hair turn white someday boy...” Ryoku muttered, hands in his coat pocket as he stood in the door to Akio’s room at the Pokemon Center, burns, several broken ribs, wrapped in bandages, he could hardly even move, well, he was also out cold. 

Haetae was just in the other room, recovering also. The eldest brother sighed, shaking his head. “All this for what...a Fairy?” he grumbled, glancing to the Comfey that never leaved Akio’s side, the small Pokemon was worried to death about him. 

Ryoku frowned before silently closing the door to make sure he didn’t awaken his younger brother...

There are no laws against a 10 year old venturing out into this world on their own journey. Even if you are the shelter a child, in this world danger lurks around every corner and you cannot always protect them. To shelter them from the harsh world is a disadvantage to the child and hinders their ability to deal with these problems. These events cannot only help in later years, but can also be made use in helping others. 

If we were to get technical and there were laws to be set on the matter, the person who would most likely be charged would be the parents for letting their child traverse ‘dangerous territory’. I don’t know this ‘Pieter’ all too well, but too blame your own failings as a parent and a mother and pinning the blame on others who have been there for the child when you have not been shows a great ignorance for the ones who truly have watched over them, taught them, and helped them strive to be the person they are. The only part you seemed to have played is conceiving the child.”
