Diomedes x Penelope x Odysseus headcannons
Odysseus dragged Diomedes home with him and told Penelope “this our husband now” and Penelope just agreed.
Odysseus is a kicker in his sleep and both Penelope and Diomedes suffer because of it.
Odysseus is the shortest out of all 3 of them.
Penelope has a necklace that matches with Diomedes one instead of wedding rings.
Penelope and Diomedes have a very detailed planner for the days they get Odysseus to themselves.
Penelope makes playful jabs at Diomedes from stealing her wife(Odysseus) from her.
Diomedes ruffles Odysseus hair whenever he can.
Odysseus love language is words of affirmation and physical contact, Penelope’s love language is gift giving, and Diomedes love language is quality time.
Diomedes draws pictures for Odysseus and Penelope whenever he has time.

Keep your hand in mine
Enjolras’ hand was warm in Grantaire’s as they stared down the national guard. The waiting was the worst part. It stretched on for seconds and then the gunfire rang out in the small room, each bullet finding its mark as it pinned Enjolras to the wall, Grantaire laying at his feet. Their hands were still clasped together as they bled out.
Death was surprisingly warm, like an embrace from a mother Grantaire doesn’t remember.
Grantaire opened his eyes, looking down at his hand, surprised to find it still linked with Enjolras’. They were in some kind of meadow, and for a minute, Grantaire pictured the two of them in the fields of Elysium. It was a fitting place for a god like Enjolras, and Grantaire was just there because of his act of sacrifice, one final act of worship. He’d once told Enjolras that he would black his boots for him, that he would get down on his knees and prostrate himself at his altar. It was no surprise to him that he ended up dying for Enjolras’ cause, even if it wasn’t his own.
It was a surprise that they were together in the afterlife, though. Grantaire had long since given up hope of entering heaven, drank his chances away like he drank everything else away. Enjolras deserved heaven. Heaven would be lucky to have a god like him, in Grantaire’s opinion. The meadow around them was too peaceful to be hell, too calm to be Hades. It was warm and sunny, with a gentle breeze that ruffled Grantaire’s hair as it swept past. There was a floral scent in the air, and the two of them were surrounded by daisies. Grantaire took a moment to admire Enjolras and the way his hair fanned out around him in the grass like a halo. The golden strands glinted in the sunlight, and for a moment, Grantaire found himself breathless. He was lucky to be allowed to see such a sight, to revel in Enjolras’ beauty unhindered by the moral arguments that told him to keep his eyes to himself.
Enjolras stirred and Grantaire reluctantly let go of his hand, missing the warmth of his touch immediately. He may have allowed the touch in their final moments, but that doesn’t mean that Grantaire should take liberties. God, how he wanted to, though. He wanted to live in a world where he could take Enjolras’ hand just because he felt like it, not because the thought of his Apollo dying alone was physically painful.
A hand reached for his and he stared as Enjolras linked their fingers together again.
“Grantaire?”
“I’m right here.”
And that’s where he would stay, as long as Enjolras wanted him there.

Like Orpheus and Eurydice
For barricade day, 2024
Grantaire felt the world shift when Enjolras looked at him and smiled, reaching for his hand. With a small action, he’d doomed them both, but Grantaire couldn’t bring himself to care. For a second, Grantaire felt what Eurydice must have felt, when Orpheus turned around. That bittersweet sting, of knowing you’ve failed your task, but also knowing that you were loved until your last moment. What could possibly compare to that?
Grantaire had always considered himself more of an Orpheus. Blindingly loyal to the one he loved, even when it led him to Hades. He was an artist, too, although not as naive to the way of the world. Now that he thinks about it, Enjolras fits Orpheus better. Determined, set on completing one goal despite what it takes. A demigod with a weakness for humanity. Too optimistic for the horrors he’s seen. Maybe Grantaire was Eurydice after all, scared and cynical, practical even as he fell in love with his opposite.
Enjolras’ hand was warm in his. He’d expected it to be clammy, but it wasn’t. Even staring down the national guard, he was completely unwavering in his beliefs. He was willing to die for France, and Grantaire was willing to die for him. He found himself linking their fingers, far too intimate an action for what’s about to happen, but Grantaire thinks he’s allowed this one indulgence in death. Enjolras tightens his hold on his hand, his other lifting in the air as he proclaims long live the republic. He’s so struck by the majesty of Enjolras’ profile, that he doesn’t feel the bullets piercing his chest and shoulders. He falls to the floor, but Enjolras stays standing, truly a god among men even as red drips down his chin.
Their hands stay intertwined.

the thing they don't tell you about getting into les mis as a teenager is that there is no point at which you gain the capability of being normal about enjolras and grantaire. bc here's the thing folks. grantaire asked for enjolras's permission, to give him the honor of dying next to him. enjolras smiled and took his hand. and then they died. holding hands. and then there's "you believe in nothing" / "i believe in you", the sun/moon imagery, the comparisons to achilles/patroclus and orestes/pylades etc, and dont get me started on george blagden. it's insane

remember when BBC les mis made Enjolras say Napoleon was a 'step in the right direction' and Courfeyrac say their group are not really into politics or dying for the cause, they're just goofing, twice
Davies do you understand that they're an articulated group planning to take down the government and this is a plan they will execute, to death? What do you think this is
