Here is my submission for day 1 of jetko week (modern au)... I just felt finishing my eboy wip for forever ago woot woot. And listen I know it’s not day one but let’s pretend 😭😭

ive never read a single discourse post for atla shipping (bc i love myself) but i had trouble finishing the show irl back when it was airing bc katara acts sooooo much like everyones mom it was bizarre to see this lil monk child basically marry his mother figure lol

i get what you mean to an extent,,,,,,but also consider that,,,,,katara is a child as well. i feel like we put a lot of this image of katara being motherly-and yes! she’s wonderful and caring and all those things but she’s also 14. she isn’t really a “mother figure” she’s just a friend that cares! i can see people not being super big fans of ka//ta//ang for other reasons but that argument has always rubbed me the wrong way because like....yknow? she’s a kid too she just cares a lot.
