Read an absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking fanfic a while back about Aang’s oncoming passing and wanted to recreate one of the scenes! Haven’t made a comic comic in a while so this was soo much fun to draw, even though it took several weeks on and off 😭 If you enjoyed this, please read the full work on AO3 as there is some BEAUTIFUL prose that I had a hard time working into here. Once when the gaang visits the Fire Nation, they’re all just on the side of too tipsy when Zuko leans in with the most grave expression imaginable.

“Aang,” Zuko says, “This has been… haunting me…. Why did your friends need to suck on those frogs?”

And Aang just gasps, and does not explain the frogs, because he has suddenly remembered that Miyuki is still wanted by the Fire Nation and that just won’t do. So Aang demands that Zuko pardon Miyuki for her crimes, which then gets the rest of the gaang to dogpile on and also demand justice for Miyuki. 

Zuko is willing to hear him out. 

…Zuko is significantly less willing to hear him out when Aang mentions that Miyuki is a cat.

(Zuko finds it difficult to believe that a cat is legitimately wanted by the Fire Nation)

But because they are all the worst, he relents and they all drunkenly stumble down to go find the records of Miyuki’s crimes and write her up a pardon, much to the chagrin of the night-shift archivist.

With the solar eclipse coming up this month, here’s some things to keep in mind

Do Not: Buy a strange looking plant from an old Chinese man running an exotic flower shop

Do: Invade the fire nation while they are at their weakest

Some Aang sketches I did this morning live on Twitch!! I realized last night that I've never just like... drawn Aang being Aang, doing Aang things. I've only ever drawn him in the context of a poster-type design. So I wanna change that. These are all just screenshot re-draws! I plan to do more on Monday's stream (5-7PM EST) 😊 Also first time drawing him with hair - it was weird lol.

After watching Netflix Avatar I knew it was my parental duty to make sure my kids saw the REAL Avatar all the way through, or as my son calls it now, the "Real REAL Avatar." And I realized once again how much I adore the fire temple episode. For one express reason.

Everyone's all chained up, Zuko included, and they're all about to get their faces burnt off (One of these four knows exactly what that feels like and isn't thrilled about going through that again.)

But this terrifying being is coming straight at them.

Dude look at that thing! No one's walking out of this!

These guys sure as heck are gonna feel it.

But....

...team Avatar is fine. Not a scratch on them. The fire is hot enough to disintegrate their chains yet none of them get so much as an ember in their face.

And you know who else doesn't get hurt at all?

Zuko.

Zuko doesn't get hurt in the least. His chains disintegrate and he takes his less than graceful leave.

We know Aang doesn't like to hurt people, and Zhao doesn't get killed or anything. But the dude still gets fire in his face and as far as Aang is concerned, Zuko is no different than Zhao and should have received the same treatment. Except Aang isn't the one in charge and Roku knows exactly who Zuko is and who he's meant to be.

It begins with Toph approaching Zuko, who is sitting near a campfire. “You have a scar?” she asks. Zuko replies,  "Oh! Uh, yeah… You didn’t…?“ Toph cuts him off and says, “Came up in passing with the other guys.” Toph casually makes herself a seat out of rock and sits down next to him. “Must be pretty badass if everyone assumes I know it’s there, too,” she continues. Zuko looks aside awkwardly and says, “… It’s on my face.” “Ah.” Toph replies.

Zuko says, “Maybe you could… feel it?” “Huh?” says Toph. “I guess, if I concentrate hard enough.” Zuko reaches for Toph’s hand. “Uhm, just with your hand, if you want,” he says. “I don’t think I can describe it.” “… Gotcha. Guide my hand then, boss,” Toph says. Zuko does so, and there’s a pause as Toph touches his scar. The fire reflects in her eyes.

As Toph pulls her hand away, Zuko says, “…. You know, my left eye is almost blind, too.” “Seriously?!” Toph exclaims. “Why aren’t we a tag team yet?! The blind bandit and the half-blind dweeb!” “Come on…!” Zuko moans. End ID]

i’ve had this comic sketched out for months but only decided to finish it now, it’s based on something i drew a couple years back of toph and zuko….don’t think too hard on when or how this takes place because i don’t really know either! it’s just a concept i’ve always wanted to draw

I think it’s really cool that he’s based off of the (martial artist) fighting instructor and consultant of the series named Sifu Kisu who’s actually blasian in real life

If anyone doesn’t remember, he was Sokka’s teacher

There are 2 things that didn’t dissapoint me in the first half of Book2: these outfits

and that’s it

everything else was dissapointing
