I honestly feel the same way, this was supposed to be a place to express creativity, to create worlds and stories.

This was the fandom that made AUs a thing for me, and suddenly i can't do that? Suddenly i will be judged for using what the story gave me.

Opportunity to create.

Frisk has always been a self insert character, Chara has that name for that exact reason! You can name them both as you'd like! And what name do we usually pick? Our OWN name.

You have the chance to make choices, you are the one who have the opportunity to save the whole underground, or destroy it.

Let people be free to write characters as they wish.

I wanna write my own stories with my own characters and make art of whatever i feel like. Your hate and ignorance won't stop me.

So a while ago I finally figured out what changed to make Frans now one of the most hated ships when it was originally one of the most popular.

And it's simply how we interpret Frisk.

Way back when the main interpretation was a blank slate that you could project onto so you could get attached vicariously to the other characters through Frisk. Like a vessel.

This is how I see it and as an adult woman I see Frisk as the same. This has always been the case this was never not the case.

Then I left the fandom for a while.

When I came back everything changed. Frisk was reinterpreted as forever and always a non-binary child and if you did not accept this you were stupid.

I do not agree with this. I think you're free to interpret it that way, but that is not how I see the character.

Then you see there was the big schism. That is what broke this ship to pieces because I have a feeling a lot of other old fans left as well. So the ones who see it as I do aren't really here anymore. Of course there are a few and I love them all dearly, but the majority seem to have disappeared or got run off. And I fully admit I'm not exactly very present in the fandom either.

So no one was here to contest this and now with new people coming in they see the new interpretation and assume it is always and forever been like this.

That is simply not the case. As an OG fan I can promise you that.

And so now you have this deep seated hatred for something that was never weird and was only made weird in retrospect.

And that sucks because this was my second ship ever. This is what got me into fandom and it hurts my soul to see what first got me here now treated with such derision, and creators for it get accused of being something they are not.

Things have been a real mess over here. I graduated and started a second course, now i am writing more than ever and occupied myself with artfight. Besides that, y'all probably know but my main social media is instagram and i often forget to post even there. I also started an account on Cara and my commissions are open...

I am trying to get more active right now, wait for more random Nethertale/Undertale doodles.

I am posting a WIP to share how happy I am that I've made that reference pic for Sans. It was a pain but it was worth it. It really is useful. I hope it will help me keep his appearance consistent for at least some time.

As you can see, drawing his belly was not enough to satisfy my simping needs, no... I had to lift his shirt up... heheh. I just cannot control myself.

Other than becoming more unhinged in my obsession, it feels like I started to make some progress in art. Learning how to draw properly is very hard for me because I am mentally exhausted after my office work. It's a very fast-paced, difficult job. After hours of problem solving I am left with no strength and no desire to learn anything new. All I want is to... do nothing and just rest, really, but I force myself to keep being creative. I cannot force myself to properly study drawing, though. That would be too much and I have no space for another mental load to bear.

That being said, I still feel like I am making some progress. And I am happy, and that's what matters. Right now I am working on a reference sheet for expressions, as well as drawing his skull from different perspectives. That's a lot of fun and it's not nearly as frustrating as I thought it would be.

Also, I am trying to become active on AO3. I've recently realised that I talk about my favourite fics all the time but I am yet to leave a single comment. That is shameful and that's going to change. I will do better.

Other than that, I am focusing on finishing some of my ficlets, but English has become weirdly difficult for me these days. Not just English, actually. I don't know why. Everything I say feels wrong. The sentences I build feel... off. I have no idea what's up with that. It's possible that it's the lack of a proper sleeping schedule. I hope it will pass eventually. It's horribly frustrating.

I hope you all are doing well! I have seen tons of your pictures that I plan to reblog and comment on (about 50 are waiting in my drafts). I have fics waiting in a queue to be read. There is so much art everywhere... Thank you, Sans simp community, for being so awesome.
