Film/TV Journal - Move to Heaven
Title: Move to Heaven / 무브 투 헤번: 나는 유품정리사입니다
Director: Kim Sung Ho
Writer: Yoon Ji Ryeon
Cast: Lee Je Hoon, Tang Joon Sang, Hong Seung Hee, Ji Jin Hee
note: pls consider that bc this is a journal there r gonna be spoilers
Synopsis
Han Geu Ru (Tang Joon Sang), who have Asperger syndrome, works with his father in a company called Move to Heaven. It is a trauma cleaning service for things that is left by the deceased. One day, Geu Ru's father passed away and he is left alone with a (soon-to-be) guardian/uncle that he never knew he had, Cho Sang Gu (Lee Je Hoon), who is an ex-convict that fought in underground fights. Both of them are not in good terms at first. Geu Ru, with his conditions, are not adapting well with the presence of a new person. Cho Sang Gu, who doesn't even wanna be there, thinks the kid is an idiot. Move to Heaven is a story about people who left and were left behind. How both Geu Ru and Sang Gu adapts to each other and how they build a new family.
Opinion
I always trusted whatever Lee Jehoon is in and no doubt this one, too, really left behind a deep feeling. Like everyone else, I cried (thought I thought it was gonna be sadder than this).
Move to Heaven is a beautiful piece telling the story of people who left and who were left behind. This, too, applies to Geu Ru and Sang Gu who are left by their father and brother and is now trying to move on with their lives.
I like it that everyone have their own stories. The saying that people who have passed away can still speak is portrayed really well. Through their belongings that was left, all of them have their own story to tell.
Sang Gu's background story about his relationship with his brother left me with a deep ache. I think, the most hurtful things in his life are the what ifs. What if the accident didn't happen, what if he didn't taught Su Cheol how to fight, what if his brother had picked him up on time, what if he knew why his brother couldn't come that day?
I bawled in that scene when they showed the nike shoes.
I knew Lee Je Hoon's acting is good because I watched a lot of his projects. So, the person who surprises me a lot is Tang Joon Sang. This is his first project that I have watched and he is so good. The way he portrays the way Geu Ru speaks, stands, acts, even the way he is thinking, the micro expressions. Really looking forward to his other projects.
Move to Heaven is a drama that I will think abt a lot. While watching this I thought of many questions like, what does my stuffs reflects about me, what about the people around me, what have I done for them?
Dying is inevitable, so I guess when I do have to go, I'd like to leave people with good things.
