This is very sweet, thank you!
I just finished listening to Generation Crossing, and I'm in tears.
This was an absolutely beautiful piece of storytelling, Marc and Dan have really outdone themselves, as did every actor that lent their voice to this project, it was well worth the wait.
An hour and a half. Just an hour and a half and they've captured a screen shot of humanity. The horror and the beauty of us, of our drive, the way we make stories and myth and religion and art and song- the way we can be so, so awful, full of greed, our fallibility, our selfishness....but also our hope and our capacity for selflessness.
I knew things were going to end the way they did by track 24. And that's when I started crying up and the second she said the words "Odysseus protocol." I knew what that meant and I started sobbing.
"The lives you have lived are meaningful because you have given them meaning."
The flashbacks to all the crew members she spoke to, she remembered all of them and she saved them and then she asked to them to remember her.

So if you've been waiting to buy the album... today's the day! (You can always listen on Spotify, Apple Music, or YouTube for free... but isn't paying for the album FUN?!?!)

So, a few weeks back, Marc ran a Dread Game in the Generation Crossing universe.
It’s set in the period of Generation Crossing with RELIGIOUS FACTIONALISM, and has Io asking people to investigate disturbing reports about the followers of Odom. (The players could not be convinced that Io wasn’t evil, even though Io is a sweetheart. People just don’t trust robots)
(Dread’s a really cool table top rpg game where people build a Jenga tower, and if their character does something risky, they pull a block. If the tower falls, the character dies.)
Anyway, would people be interested in reading that Dread scenario? I’m thinking of putting it as a Patreon exclusive for a month, then making it available for everyone.

Hi all! Dan and Marc were on the The Sci-Fi Talk Podcast talking about, what else, Generation Crossing. Hear Dan talk eloquently about how he used his own voice as a musical instrument, hear Marc drone on about The Power Broker. It's available wherever you get your podcasts.

We're now on Bluesky
This #AudioDramaSunday, we decided to start up a bluesky account! Please follow us there, because I really don't want to have to simultaneously post things to Twitter and another site, and we want to make sure that we can talk about the cool stuff we're doing.

Hello! Just wanted to say that I absolutely loved Generation Crossing and I'm forcing everyone I know to listen to it. You guys really delivered and I am so pleased that this team came back together to create something new! I love the way Dead Signals are always so inventive when it comes to telling a story through an audio medium. ✨ Hoping to see more projects from y'all in the future and in the meantime I will listen to Archive 81 all the way through once again 😎
Thanks so much, we really appreciate the support!

ok unless you’re going to do a patreon q&a i’ll shoot my shot and ask here - re: generation crossing, did you (marc) have actors in mind when you wrote particular monologues? or was it a mix of intention and whoever had the availability? or a third secret thing?
love it btw, gen crossing has been running circles in my brain all week👍
Marc here!
So, for the most part, I didn't write monologues with a specific actor in mind. However, Dan and I are lucky enough to have working relationships with some absolutely incredible actors, so I knew that, with basically whatever I wrote, somebody could knock it out of the part.
There are a few people we haven't worked with before (Jo Chiang, the voice of Lee in Spacewalk, for example), but for the most part, the cast is people we know and trust. It's so much easier to write when you have a couple great options for each part.

Generation Crossing has been out for almost a week, and we've been so grateful and happy with the response! Dan and I put so much of ourselves into the project, and we're really pleased that this super weird spoken-word album about SPACE TRAVEL has resonated with so many people. If you haven't listened yet, it's available wherever you get your music, and if you HAVE listened to it, tell your friends.

Daniel Powell and Marc Sollinger are so excited to say that our next project, Generation Crossing, is out NOW.
It’s a series of monologues scored to music, all about an 800 year voyage to a distant planet, and the society that forms during that journey. Asteroids, religious schisms, the meaning of life… Generation Crossing has it all.
Generation Crossing is an album rather than a podcast, but if you’re a fan of Archive 81 or The Deep Vault, we think you’ll really like it.
You can listen to Generation Crossing wherever you get your music, here are links:

Hi all, it's Bandcamp Friday. What does that mean? Well, if you pre-order The Generation Crossing album today, all of the revenue goes directly to us, without any fees to Bandcamp. So... if you're gonna pre-order, today's a GREAT day to do it.
Look at Dan and Marc hard at work making the album. Is Marc just posing for the photo? Does he not know anything about composing music? Anyway, look at them making cool sci-fi synth sounds!

The team behind Archive 81 and The Deep Vault is excited to announce our next project - Generation Crossing!
Generation Crossing is a series of monologues scored by music. The whole thing is about an 800 year journey to a distant planet, and the society that forms during that voyage. The only consistent character is the Ship’s AI.
So yes, it's weird! But if you're a fan of ours we think you'll really get a kick out of this spoken-word space opera album thing. Plus, it's got a lot of familiar voices from our podcasts.
It’ll be out on Tuesday November 12th, on Spotify , Bandcamp, AppleMusic or wherever you listen to music. Here's the Bandcamp page where you can preorder it: https://deadsignalsaudio.bandcamp.com/album/generation-crossing
You can listen to us talk a bit more about the album on the Archive 81 podcast feed - we'll also talk about the future of Archive 81: https://open.spotify.com/episode/7fWOWrV9u9ZoMtnymcF3Ea?si=qFbJ4OqySJq57kB8Vrt30w
Here’s the AV Club article about it: https://www.avclub.com/generation-crossing-announcement
Thanks so much for your support, it really means the world to us. We can't wait until you get to listen to Generation Crossing, we think you'll really like it.
