pairing: astarion/tav (alystin mysek) fandom: baldur's gate 3 wc: ~500 note: posting a fic for a new oc and a new fandom is daunting as hell for no reason lmao. this is short and meant to be apart of a larger set of moments between these two, so consider this 1/5! -`♡´-

Astarion watched over the camp, the day of adventuring having ended after their pseudo-leader, one of only three humans in the camp, took a vicious slice from a gnoll.

If only it took the self-righteous paladin out–

“Hey.” A gravelly voice interrupted his thoughts, Alystin. A drow who he actually grew quite fond of in their short time on the road.

“Hello,” he perked up, flipping a dagger around in his hand.

“Care for a drink?” she asked, holding out a somehow well-manicured, freckled hand, “I found a bottle of Arabellan Dry on our way back.”

Taking her hand to stand up slowly, Astarion was taken aback when she didn’t let it go as she made her way to the opposite side of camp.

Even now as she led him to her tent, her footsteps were deliberate and delicate, hand lightly grasping his. She sat on a log she clearly set up to be a bench, picking branches off for at least the past week.

“Are you alright?” Alystin asked, handing the open bottle of mystery liquor over to him.

Taking it quickly, he took a whiff and shrugged before taking his own swig. “She didn’t hurt my feelings, if that’s what you’re trying to imply here,” he answered, maybe a touch too quickly.

The drow scoffed, “I wasn’t asking about feelings. I was wondering about your head; our young paladin bowled you over with the force of an ox. You still have mud in your hair.”

“What?” Astarion knew there would still be some dirt back there, he did the best he could without being able to even see himself in the mirror. 

With a laugh, Alystin took the bottle back.

He should’ve known better than to think she was asking about his feelings, truthfully his ego was a little bruised but she didn’t need to know that.

“If you want, I could give you a hand?”

He was unsure, but he couldn’t actually get it done himself without taking an uncomfortable dunk into their section of the river; so there Astarion was not five minutes later, back to the drow as he felt her careful fingers pull through his curls.

It was a gentle routine, she’d dip her fingers into the bowl of water beside them, pull her fingers through the mud while re-wetting it and wiping it off on an old cloth. Rinse, repeat.

It was a moment that was so tender, it made him squirm. 

Ideally he would’ve seduced the human. She looked naive, kind and clearly had a knack for helping out the damsels in distress, not that he was one. Alystin was a drow and not to judge a book by its beautiful, purple cover, but they weren’t exactly known for lending a helping hand out of the kindness of their own hearts.

That being said, she surprised him every day they were on this wretched journey.

calpurnia time <333

Calpurnia Zimmlar (formerly Calpurnia Sarrin, formerly Calpurnia Fallone) is my babygirl my main bg3 oc, i love her so much.

she is from athkatla, she's 24, she hasnt been home in around 4 years because she allegedly murdered four men, including her husband, allegedly. (she did that shit but not for the reasons you may think).

She is an oath of devotion paladin who is sworn to Ilmater.

her dream guardian's physical appearance takes on the form of her childhood best friend Draven, who is a guard at home and is also the person that tipped her off to actually leave the city, he has never regretted his decision.

i think once she left home, she just wandered around amn for a few months, legging it as far away from the city as she could. i dont think she became a paladin until maybe a year-ish into her forced adventuring. dont get me wrong here, she always wanted to be an adventurer even though it was something looked down upon back home it was just something she thought wouldn't happen after The Events. She also didn't think it would be this lonely.

i also dont believe she sought out to try and be a paladin, all she wanted to do when she finally found purpose again was to help people and heal people, so maybe that's why she was granted these gifts, her views and ideals and who she found herself to be and want to be seemed to perfectly align with Ilmateri beliefs and tenets.

calpurnia meets wyll in the grove and is so smitten by him, she finds him so endearing, she's also glad to finally put a face to the famed Blade of Frontiers after just missing him in settlements on her adventures (it's happened maybe six times that she knew of). I think he's the first person she tells about her past, the little bit she is comfortable sharing at least. and she tries her best to comfort wyll after he goes through his transformation at the hands of mizora.

the night of the tiefling party they share a drink and a kiss and she invites wyll to her tent that night to share more wine that she squared away and also a snack. her intentions that night were not pure, she wanted to get into his pants, but they just talked through the night and watched the stars.

some time after that night she has a moment where she's just like i actually have feelings for this man; im not just lonely and need a warm body. this is terrifying. i think this comes from being in that weird marriage that really skewed her view on love and feeling worthy of being loved.

I dont really know how hear arc is yet in the game, i know i want draven to show up at some point, i know she knows who gortash is and i know that she doesn not hold the highest opinion of duke ravengard after everything that wyll tells her.

Lys playthrough, done omg. 80 hrs and i fumbled 3 different times most notably in the final act (you can spot one mistake above).

i know this isnt Insane or anything but as someone who has just been trying to get back to a level they were at over a year ago, this is such a good step in the right direction. lol. every other win i've had this season (which isnt a lot, bc i dont play as much as i used to) i always felt like i got carried HARD so to win with over 1k damage and more than 2 kills, im just happy lol
