ok this is depressing

When Wei Wuxian dies, his soul shatters. No summoning array, no seance, no sacrificial ritual, no song, no matter how heart wrenching could reach him.

In each reincarnation of Lan Wangji, he always wonders what terrible sin he committed to incur such a large karmic debt. In truth, there was no other soul meant to fit Lan Zhan's except Wei Ying.

And he was more untouchable than ashes on the wind.

In every incarnation Lan Wangji's soul calls for Wei Wuxian. In some he's a poet whose verses could make deserts flood. In others he's an artist, known for the haunting beauty of his blurred portraits of a man in black and crimson, silver eyes both sorrow and joy.

In some he's a dancer, his graceful movements enhanced by the way his hands always seem to reach for the grey stars in supplication.

What is the tortured artist except a living testament to tragedy? A soul that's lost it's soul. Mourning and yearning for something you can't remember.

Half of the plot of MDZS happened because Yiling Laozu was so HOT that he made a lot of powerful people figure new things about themselves and they got mad about that. 'The Yiling Laozu is evil and shall be stopped!!1!' Like shut up you wanna bang him so bad it makes you actively stupid. Imagine being so sexy you're the whole cultivation world's gay awakening and they can't beat off the gay thoughts so they try to kill you instead

When you have zero interest in canon but the fanfiction is really good.

That’s how I feel about Christianity. Like, no hate, but it just isn’t for me. And yet I am a huge fan of the gay Bible fanfics known as Good Omens and Jesus Christ Superstar.
