i was going through and re-adding my embedded links for my save haven directory bc they broke (they still don't play 100% nice with tumblr but fuck it) and u know what i realized?

safe haven is officially a "present day" story

the whole story takes place this year and into early 2026

and it turns 3 years old in august💀

well let's start with who that even is. Say it with me now, everyone!: Vanessa's abusive POS ex bf. (we no longer utter his name here) here are 3 facts about this giant piece of shit

He almost successfully baby trapped Vanessa while they were dating and living away from her family.

He does successfully finds some poor woman that'll "put up" with his shit and every time she finds the strength to try and leave, he uses their kids against her. She never gets out of there. (and yes, unfortunately, this man did breed)

This is my favourite fact about him. Before he dated Vanessa, he got his shit rocked by one of her cousins, Hugo. (Iris' twin brother). Why? Idk he was probably running his big ass mouth and being generally unpleasant. At no point in their relationship did this guy ever know that the guy who gave him the most humiliating public ass whoopin of all time was his girlfriend's cousin.

what the fuck have i been up to? well apart from steadily dying at work (dw we're all stressed out together 💖 and i do like my new job!) I was inspired by the good sis @trentonsimblr when she did all those wedding lewks and decided to do some for my simmies. anyway, go back far enough (like eight generations from Vanessa) and you'll find this lovely lady. you may ask yourself "wedding look? bitch whereee?" and what I will tell you is that this predates the trend of white dresses. they do eventually become (and remain) the fashion. I don't know that this is her final one, I'm still playing around, but it ain't bout to be white, I'll tell u that much. I was also playing around with my presets and I was really happy to see that, at least for portrait purposes, these presets work very nicely with her skin, especially the first one. it's meant to look a bit washed out and desaturated and I wasn't sure how it would turn out on her because so many of her descendants are wypipo. aight imma stop here now bye 🥰✨

sorry i got some random rl shit on the brain so i'mma word vomit a lil sksksk

so as some people here may know, i'm out of a job at the end of the year because the good boss is retiring. that said, I have two potential employment opportunities and I cannot tell you just how STRESSED I am about making a decision.

I have virtual interviews tomorrow with both and at first i wasn't sure WHY I was so stressed but I think it boils down to whether or not I want to continue doing the exact same job and not really have to learn anything new or if I want to pursue something new and different. like it's the same kind of job, but in two different specialties (plastics vs ortho/sports med/physiatry)

I mean money is also a factor obvi but the yeah the big one is how comfortable I feel with doing something new. Which is so strange because I've always been the type of person who is willing to try new things?
