ACTIVITY #3 - Information Collection

After asking three teachers and 5 students about the importance of technology in teaching and learning respectively, here are the information that I have gathered.

What are the behaviors you observed from your students after using technology in teaching?

They are more interested and involved in the class, they can easily understand the lessons if I use a video presentation in our topics in Science and Mathematics

In fact technology has been a great tool for learning. It makes fast dilivery of the content leading to mastery, therefore they feel much comfortable and convenient.

My students are more focus excited and enthusiastic to learn because they are exposed to these catchy and flashy teaching instructional materials compare with the traditional visual aids. They seem to be more relax and enjoy learning experiences because of this new technologies.

Why do you think technology is important in your studies?

It helps us to study easier, we all know that gathering information and data is hard especially without the advancement of technology instead of going to libraries and search in different books, now we can just type, click and then copy paste. It allows us to minimize the work and time. For me, technology has a huge role in our modern society, in all field it is very useful.

Well, let’s be honest, technology is very useful especially for students like me. It is important in my studies because it helps me receive and gain information faster. It is also an invention that helps students communicate online whenever there is an upcoming report or review.

Technology has made our learning much easier and more flexible. Modern technology created the opportunity for us to use different devices such as mobile phones, laptops, and computers. These devices allow us to utilize software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel that let us organize important documents and presentations. Also, search engines like Google and Yahoo can be used to look for credible information, tutorials, and even illustrations with only one click.

Let's always remember that change is inevitable. In this modern world, technology is continuously and rapidly developing and innovating. Our lives today also depends on technology, because in all sectors of our society or community we rely on the utilization of technological advancements and inventions. When it comes to my studies, technology is widely used in all of my subject courses. All of them requires an integration of technology because we are now considered as 21st century learners and we are expected to have the knowledge and skills in using different gadgets, media, websites and etc. Hence, technology became one of the significant tools or ways today in able to gain more knowledge and to hone different skills that will be beneficial to our future career path.

ACTIVITY 1: Do Your Research

I asked my classmate John Darren Alaurin what technologies he usually use in studying. In terms of gadgets, he says that he uses his mobile phone and laptop.

As a student during the new normal he uses Google Classroom and Google Meet as a platform for blended learning.

Aside from these John Darren also uses Facebook and Brainly to gather reliable information related to his activities, YouTube to site different tutorials. He also uses Telepromter Application whenever it is needed.

The software he often use are Google as his default search engine, an online software called Canva to layout documents and graphic images.

When I asked Arvy james Baranggan, I noticed that he also uses his mobile phone and laptop for studying. He also uses Google Classroom and Google Meet as a medium for blended learning.

Arvy also uses Google as his default search engine. He uses Canva to edit and create different outputs and Quilbot for grammar checking. He uses Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint to create necessary files for learning in his laptop and he uses Google Translate when it is needed.

The application he uses are YouTube for tutorials, Google Drive to store his important files, WPS in his mobile phone to create files. Arvy uses Time tree to keep track his schedule and his assignments. Whenever he is tasked to make and edit a video presentation, Arvy uses CapCut to create an artistic video.
