Epic: Sketch of Penelope

A sketch of Penelope that I never finished. Maybe in the future I will be able to finish it.

I love Epic: The Musical. Especially the The Ithaca saga of Penelope songs The Challenge. One of my favorites. Her voice sounds so strong and becomes so gentle when she sings her last notes of waiting. This is also my favorite part.

Estella: ¡Ay, Brunitu, my amor! I understand you're grateful, but please save your energy to reconnect with your hijos.

Bruno: You're right. I'll do it now... Can you stay by my side while I do it?

Estella: (sighed tiredly) Si.

I rarely draw fan art of any show or movie I like because of my own insecurities about my style and thinking that I won't make the characters look right or I'll draw them unrecognizable. But for the past couple of days I tried drawing oc x cannon to try and be more confident in myself. While doing so I remember I created Estella, the wife of Bruno Madrigal when the movie Encanto came out.

In my alternate universe, Estella Madrigal is Bruno's beautiful, outgoing, and tall wife, whom he loves very much. They have known each other since they were children, but back then, Estella mainly spoke with his sisters while Bruno often kept to himself. Their relationship only began to blossom when they were in their twenties. It all started when Estella asked Bruno to show her a vision of her one true love. Bruno saw the vision, but hid it, instead telling her his first lie: that she would marry a rich man, without revealing his identity. Curious and persistent, Estella spent time trying to get him to show her who this man was. During this time, she unexpectedly fell in love with Bruno, and he fell in love with her too. After they were married, Bruno finally revealed the truth about the vision she had asked for. She was shocked by his confession, but also relieved that he had not shown it to her sooner, admitting that she had seriously doubted whether she could accept it at the time.

Estella is 2 years older than Bruno, making her 52 years old.

She and Alma did not get along because of Estella's stubbornness, but Alma allowed Bruno to marry her since there were no other suitors interested in him.

They have 3 sons named Eduardo (a couple of weeks younger than Dolores), Ricardo (A year younger than Luisa) and Fabio (a couple of weeks older than Camilo).

Eduardo has a Musical gift - In charge of Music whenever someone ask.

Ricardo has a Flying gift - In charge of sending messages around Encanto person to person.

Fabio has a Invisibility gift - He does basically everything he is told especially when his invisibility is needed.

The reason Bruno left in this AU is because he refused to lie to his mother and family as he only lied once. Although their ending was good, it is unknown what will happen to Mirabel despite Estella telling him that she'll protect Mirabel herself from Abuela Alma if needed, all he needs to do was lie. But his mind was made up, as he spend 10 years in the wall with his rats and  Estella brought him food every night behind the painting but rarely talking to him as she was angry that he could leave their sons without a father.

Estella loves Mirabel, treated her like a daughter, and protected her from Isabella and Alma when they decided to be harsh with Mirabel.

But if I were to continue along the timeline of the film, Estella and Bruno began talking to each other while rebuilding the Casita. Estella in this universe did not persist with Bruno's vision and eventually married a rich man who was not very kind to her, whom she eventually divorced when her second child was born, at which time Bruno disappeared. Estella still spoke to Julieta and Pepa from time to time. Estella spent years thinking about the man she was actually destined to be with. Once she discovered Bruno was back and the entire village began helping her build the Casita, Bruno and Estella began talking and talked for months. Enjoying each other's company and Bruno finally told her that the vision was about her and him married. Estella was confused and shocked, but with a sigh, she asked him if he wanted to try a relationship. He nervously said yes and in a span of 2 year, they got married and Bruno accepted her kids as his who they also accepted him as their step - father.

Tales of Dianthus Comic: Photo (Part 2)

The part 2 are for my little comic I made last week. I've drawn all 4 together many times without posting them, but this has become one of my favorites ^^

The Misfits were supposed to be sleeping in their respected homes, but they all snuck out as they wanted to see how the park was decorated for Queen Elizabeth's visit to their hometown, Crimson, Primrose in the morning. They were shocked to see how beautifully the park was decorated as every statue, plant, and pillar was decorated with bright crystals, with pink ones at the top as that was the color of her aura. Under the full moon, the crystals shone the brightest and the magic around them became stronger, causing Luka, Kaidan, and Naomi's marks to begin to manifest.

I finished this yesterday. No wonder I've been putting off making comics. This single panel took me almost 2 days, if I wasn't resting at the moment due to my sprained leg I would have never finished it. I might have finished it sooner if I hadn't decided to add a background. This was just a little test run, it's not perfect and so I'll continue to learn how to make comics and maybe draw them more often to improve. And yes, I'll also draw the end result which I hope to finish next week.

I currently have a sprained leg and got sick over the weekend but I'm feeling a little better so I'm trying to draw and I decided to try to make a little comic because I'm going to be home from work for two weeks to recover. It's only got 2 panels for now because I've never made a real comic. So, I'm just experiment and this is the first draft of it.

I'm a very old piece I did back in 2023 when there was a trend on TikTok where you take a test to see if you're a soldier, a poet or a king. I got a king, made it and posted it on instagram which I deleted a long time ago but eventually decided to redraw it in my current style which I'm very proud of if you ask me ^^

HAPPY EASTER

I didn't think I would be able to finish it in time but thankfully I did and I am proud of it. When I decided to make an art for easter I didn't know how to draw the Misfits until I began drawing and that's how we ended up. Just look at how cute they look with their bunny ears and tail created with magic by accident when they simple wanted try and create a chocolate egg, after a couple of failings, they eventually made it.

Here's a small story:

"You know what? It's my fault," Kaiden said, a smirk playing on his lips "I knew after our fifht failing we'd eventually end up in a emberrasing situation with bunny ears and sitting on a giant yet and yet I said nothing and let it happen."

Naomi giggled, her bunny ears bouncing with movement "Oh, lighten up, Kaiden. We look adorable in our own bunny ears! Right, Jay?" She turned to Julian, who was busy tugging on his own brown ears "Just curious if they are made of just out ears or if there is some fresh … ow!" He winced, rubbing his head. "Nope, definitely just hair" he smile in a small chuckle.

"And look, Luka is enjoying the egg we finally able to make. How does it taste?" Naomi asked, looking at Luka, who was chewing on the chocolate egg without much concern, he shrugged and said, "It's a lot more bitter than I like it to be, but it's taste normal enough."

"I'm still not enjoying this whole ordeal," Kaidan grumbled, though his amusement was obvious. Julian nudged him playfully. "Stop lying, you're having fun even if you don't admit it." Kaidan rolled his eyes, but smiled. Embarrassing or not, moments like these were always fun.

"Yeah, life's never dull with us around, right, Luka?" Naomi said, her cheerful grin causing her hair to bounce.

"True," Luka replied, throwing the wrapper away. "I'm just curious about where this egg is taking us."

Julian, Kaiden and Naomi exchanged glances.

Oh, right, they weren't just sitting on an egg but it also grew leggs and now is walking arount the city as the people try to avoid being stomped on. They shrugged in unison "Meh, we'll worry when we get there," Julian said with a carefree smile.

Unbeknownst to them, their fathers were watching from a nearby building as they were called out for their antics once again.

Henrik, Luka's father, sighed softly and smiled. "Do they ever get a day off, even for a holiday?"

Ethan, Naomi's father, chuckled. "I admit, it does look kind of fun." He was always more lenient with his daughter and the boys.

Kaiden's father, Makari, rubbed his temples, his frustration evident. "How much longer are we going to let them do this?"

Gabriel, Julian's father, placed his hands on his back, watching alongside the others. "I'll give them five more minutes, mainly because I need a minute to think of what to say." He gestured towards their children perched atop the giant, walking Easter egg.

Angry

Been meaning to post something so why not post an angry Julian with Kaidan holding him down.

I don't have any context for what's going on, let's just say some jerk was telling Julian off, and Julian has a short temper and doesn't take insults lightly, and Kaidan is trying to stop him since he doesn't want Julian to get hurt.

The Campbell Siblings

Say hello to the Campbell siblings: Christina, the eldest sister; Julian, the oldest brother; the twins Mikayla and Micheal; and the baby, Jonathan  but everyone calls him Joey.

Just like Emilia and Luka, I was procrastinating on this for a while, but I finally decided to get it done. I saw it as an opportunity to use color to bring the Campbell siblings together visually, and hair became my main focus. I wanted to create a wide range of colors, taking inspiration from their parents - their dad's black hair with blue streaks, and their mom's dark brown hair. The designs are still a work in progress, but I think Christina's hair is my favorite so far. The streaks really work, and since they live in a magical world where hair can be in ant color and I am taking advantage of this. Let's see which of the Misfit's siblings I'll procrastinate next, lol XD

In all seriousness, I'm in the process of redrawing Julian and Kaiden's ref sheets and nailing down their final designs and color palettes. After I finish them, Luka and Naomi are next. I'm taking my time because my work schedule is different this month and also some other personal life stuff. I have so many plans yet little time yet I am determined to work on them.

Here is a small story behind this;

"It's no big deal, Chrissy" Julian said, trying to reassure her as Christina tilted his head, her fingers gently probing the swelling bruise on his forehead.

"No big deal?" Christina exclaimed, disbelief coloring her voice. "Julian, just look at youreself! There's a huge bruise right on your forehead. How many times do I have to tell you to wear your amulet when you go outside?"

As the oldest sister, Christina took her responsibilities seriously, especially taking care of her siblings when their parents are out for the night. She was in the kitchen making dinner with little Joey, who was happily chewing on a toy in his high chair, when she noticed Julian and the twins making their way into the kitchen. She immediately saw Julian trying to hide a bruise with his bangs.

The Campbell siblings were close, their bond was strong despite the occasional fights, but they always managed to work things out. Christina and Julian shared a special deep bond from their childhood, but her overprotectiveness was the most annoying part. She worried about him in a way that their parents didn't, mainly due to the fact that he was the only Common Folk in their family. Julian understood that she worried, but it was still very annoying.

Julian let out an annoying hum.

Mikayla lifted Joey out of his high chair, but he was just happily chewing on the toy.

"Chrissy, I think Joey needs a diaper change," Mikayla said in a nervous smile, trying to distract her from Julian.

"No, he doesn't. I just changed him. Don't distract me, how did this even happen?" Christina said one of her hands on her hips looking at the twins as Michael smile nervously.

"Uh, it was my fault. We were playing ball and I accidentally filled it with magic and... hit him," Michael explained, he didn't mean to hurt his older brother, it just happened.

"That explains it. You know, you have to be careful using your powers guys, someone - who in this case - really got hurt," Christina continued to nagging, using her magic to heal him. Julian and the twins sighed.

Parents

Yesterday I started drawing the Misfits families to finally give them a proper design that I've had in my head for months but never had the time to work on until now. Here's what their parents look like and I'm pretty happy with their designs, now I need to work on the Misfits siblings and their color palette and hopefully post them all together in the future.

I have some plans on trying to make small and simple comics so I need to figure out the families desing first.

Sketch Dump

I didn't feel like doing something so I did some sketches of my characters I had on my mind just for fun and work in progress ideas.

1 - Curly Hair: Naomi has curly hair and her hair texture is kind of similar to Mirabel to Encanto and I wanted to try and to capture that here for practice. I like how it looks but I do plan on doing her hair longer.

2 - Low bettery: Luke needs to recharge, luckily one of his cats, Moonfish, is here to help him.

3 - Glasses: Kaidan has lost his glasses, so he and Julian look for them in the same place as before, but Julian accidentally steps on them.

4 - Hatred: Julian really, REALLY, hates his classmate Shawn and asked Luka why can't he just kill him already. Well reason why is moraly wrong and reason two because Julian is a Common Folk while Shanw is a Mage so Shawn has more of a chance to kill Julian first.

5 - Mother Moon: Mother Moon is the mother of Dianthus who helped the first Magi find Dianthus as her moon shined brighter than any star that helped them open the realm, and her husband, Father Son, have light to the world for them to see. In many of her mythologies, she is also the mother of the Gods. (Work in progress idea)

6 - Magic Festival: An annual festival of magic where the entire realm of Dianthus is shrouded in darkness even during the day in some Nation, creating a spectacular canvas for the Northern Lights. Kaidan, Naomi, and Luka are enjoying the magic together as their faces are illuminated by their markings. Julian, however, sits on a bench admiring the beauty of the magic swirling around his friends, he couldn't join them but at least he can enjoy the smiles on their faces.

Luka and Emilia - The Jason Siblings

Luka and his little sister Emilia who is more vibrant and extroverted if not a bit bossy yet adores her brother like no other.

I have been procrastinating on this for weeks until I finally decided to finish it after coming home early today. I am proud of how it turned out and I will make this for a sticker or a keychain for myself one day at how beautiful it looks.

A Rose Bush Tragedy

Finished this piece yesterday that I've been thinking about for almost 2 weeks. I had a story in my head that just needed to be finished, and when I did, I also decided to rewrite the story a bit. I'm not very good at making backgrounds, so this was to play around and get out of my comfort zone.

Tales of Dianthus: The Crimson Misfits

I finally was able to redraw my main characters and put their official desing out there. Of course they are still work in progress as I am trying to find the style that would fit them perfectly. I'm adding their 2025 desing with their older ones from maybe 2023/2024.

I'm happy to how they turned out but like I said I'm still working on their desing and now I can focus on their bio's that are posted but will rewrite them when I have time.

Sickness bug

I have been bedridden all day on Thursday because of a sickess bug, didn't sleep at all that night. I felt better yesterday that I was able to do what I wanted yet my chest hurt because of all the vomiting and is still does now. I have no iea how I will be able to work today, not only that but most likely my whole family got sick because of me.

My mom felt bad all day yesterday and my dad too got sick in the evening as he began to vomit. Today I was awake since 4:30 am when I heard my sister began to vomit, couple of hours later, my brother began to vomit as well. Yeah... ooops sorry fam.

I'm just hoping the cat won't get sick too.

Overall, getting sick is the worst because it throws you off your schedule and I really wanted to go out on my days off – I missed my favorite coffee shop, they probably wondered where I went (probs not, but I like to imagine they do ^^), but oh well, I hope those 3 days pass soon so I can have a day off again.
