BELLARKE AU: Bellamy comes down from the Ark in a pod to check out if Earth is viable for his people. Upon his arrival, he’s captured and brought to Clarke, who’s the current commander. It surprises her with just how normal he looks when her eyes settle on him, on his knees and gagged. Stories never prepared her for the possibility that someone from the sky would be so beautiful. “What’s your name?” A guard removes his gag. “Bellamy Blake.” Even his voice is nice. Deep, rich, smooth. “Belomi kom Skai gru, give me one good reason why I shouldn’t kill you right now for trespassing?” For falling from the sky but that part she doesn’t say. Bellamy thickly swallows and a beat passes before he answers. “I don’t really have a good reason. I can only hope that you won’t and will consider having mercy on me. I’m sorry for trespassing, that was never my intention.” Clarke’s surprised by his answer but doesn’t show it on her face. He’s honest at-least. “Are there more of your people?” He looks sad as he answers. “There’s just me.” Clarke decides to spare his life despite the stories that have been told about the people of the sky who bring but only misfortune and death. Soon, a relationship that neither of them expect blossoms. But nothing is forever (something she knows best) when the Ark comes crashing down from the sky and burns a whole village down, killing three hundred of her people. Her people call for revenge. Jus drien jus daun! And now she must make the decision: lead with her heart or lead with her head.

one thing i really hated about season seven was how much it diminished my interest in certain characters, and i’m not talking about bellamy and clarke, whom the writers actively and purposefully destroyed
no, i’m talking about how:
they once again used raven as their narrative punching bag, using her either for some more added trauma or to set up the narrative direction, both of which hinder her character’s story (adding to the fact that they did this very same thing to her last season, actively in fight mode almost constantly, especially with clarke, which they clearly only did so you’d feel sorry for clarke just in time for her ‘death’/bodysnatching storyline, which raven’s character ultimately suffered for thanks to that narrative decision)
echo being the unhinged girlfriend for half the season, god the moment they decided to put her with bellamy i pleaded ‘please don’t boil down a complex female character into the girlfriend role for conflict and drama’ and yet here we were, all i wanted was for them to steer away from the obvious relationship drama and age old love triangles but in trying not to tell a ‘cliche’ story they used the most cliche tropes in the book? as if introducing gina only for the purpose of murdering her and furthering bellamy’s trauma wasn’t bad enough, they had to demote 7a echo to the vengeful lover trope whose only thought or purpose was her not-dead boyfriend (which they then immediately scrapped?)
(sidenote, if they were so intent on platonic bellarke why were the romantic relationships they canonically wrote for bellamy so poorly thought out in comparison? why did they never spend the time on those relationships? why did we never see the development, which is what draws an audience to relationships, for either of them? why did the girls have to suffer shitty, overdone, arguably misogynistic tropes?)
murphy, god this one upsets me so much, this was undoubtedly murphy and emori’s season, and along with indra they were the only ones who made the sanctum storyline even slightly bearable, but so much of his storyline was reminiscent of bellamy’s early seasons storylines that it didn’t feel as organic as it should have, so many moments gave off the ‘well if we can’t give this stuff to bellamy, we’ll just hand it off to murphy’ vibe, because the two main male characters are just interchangeable now i guess?
madi, you know i once had a friend irl tell me that they weren’t excited about madi because every time shows randomly introduce a young character like that it often interrupts the story in negative ways, which at the time i didn’t really get, but looking back now, looking at how she was often just a device to activate murder mama mode for clarke or to be the useless plot carrier for sheidheda, i think i can understand where they were coming from, madi spent so little screen time with her own storyline, they just used her for conflict about 80% of the time (also almost had them kill her? wtf was that? and then that whole storyline ended without madi anyway so??? what was the point?)
and don’t get me started on how they finally, finally, started working on the blakes relationship last season just to destroy it one last time, even going as far as removing the line in which octavia gives her brother his deserved goodbye from script to screen
for me, in trying to erase bellamy and vilify clarke, they weren’t just taking bellamy and clarke down, with bellamy and clarke being the two most central characters, there was an after effect they never intended, instead of tearing down bellamy & clarke and focusing on the others, they created a monopoly effect, pulling those two central characters unintentionally created cracks in all of the other stories they were trying to tell

And there we have it, bellarke was written and played romantic: confirmed by Bob Morley himself

are my ears decieveing me or did he really say “we’re supposed to be until the script changed”

Wow what an ending huh? Bittersweet and poignant but ultimately hopeful. Really lovely payoff for all those years watching these characters develop.
Kinda glad the show didn’t get renewed after season 5 tbh. I’d love more content but these charactors can live on in fanfic. I’d hate to see the showrunner drive the story off a cliff or something just for shock value.

They should’ve just ended the 100 when Jordan woke Bellamy and Clarke up from cryo and they looked outside the window in eachothers arms at their new world and new start.
That’s how it should’ve went.

Bellarke AU
If other universes exist I hope we’re happy somewhere. That there are universes where history doesn’t pull us apart and we become a tragic story full of sorrow and regret, ones where we don’t become our own undoing that only history would remember us for. I know in this story we could never belong to each other, but if there is another universe, another story, another us I hope we can love each other until our dying day.

so to be totally honest, i was planning on finishing up work today and sitting down to watch the new episode on netflix like i do every week...and then i saw the spoiler on the cw's insta. i havent even watched the episode and i am fucking livid. i cannot fathom how the writers thought it was a good idea to have bellamy's storyline end that way. this season has not been great in my opinion but i was willing to hold out until the end to see how they played everything out. but with that spoiler i'm out. i can't stay positive about the show anymore so that's it. i'm maintaining that the series ended at the end of season 5 and i will live in that bubble.
this blog will still be semi-active because i have always loved the characters of the 100 and i've always been a bellarke fan, but i'll just mainly be reblogging my favourite scenes. i really am livid because i started watching when season 1 was airing and it was by far my favourite show for a long time. friends and family all joined in to watch too and i also found a wonderful community here on tumblr to talk about the show. but even all of that just cant make me stay positive about it anymore. sorry if this is a bummer...i know its been tough for a lot of fans.
to all of you wonderful people, i'd just like to say - may we meet again.

Don’t let the most OOC scene ever written to tarnish the iconic character that is Clarke Griffin. That was not our Clarke. That was shock value Clarke and she’s not real, she does not exist here.
