“Gael things” indeed. The greatest athlete ever on the ATP and what does he have to show for it, aside from making a lot of money? Yes, he “entertains” people and he practices great sportsmanship but what the hell has he ever won? The lazy comparison is to Yannick Noah, but at least Noah claimed a Grand Slam at Roland Garros. He’s played some of the most exciting points I have ever seen--followed by the dumbest. I can’t watch him anymore.

It’s great to see her again and for her to be appointed as one of the ambassadors of the game. She’s sorely missed by real fans of the circuit. The hand/eye coordiantion bordered on the magical and breathtaking. And she would do it with a blase smirk or a shrug that was nevertheless charming. The only current player who possesses a similar magic is Su-Wei Hsieh, another frail, undersized underdog.Rad was just the best and it’s a pity she never won a Grand Slam, particularly Roland Garros where because of her skill set she might have had a legit shot.
