Being aro or ace is inherently LGBT and whoever says otherwise is an idiot. Today I (an openly queer bisexual trans man) started talking about my sexuality with my aunts and you know what triggered it? They mentioned a character being asexual, and when I started explaining to them the differences between ace and aro, they said “of course, you’re the expert” (my family doesn’t even know I’m quoiromantic/demisexual because if I said that their tiny cishet brains could not comprehend that, they are still struggling to understand why I’m a trans man and not a lesbian soooo).

So yeah, ace/aro people are inherently LGBT/queer/not straight and we have every right to call ourselves queer if we want. Exclusionists are just assholes. Even cishets don’t see us aces/aros as straight or “normal.” They automatically lump us on in with LGBTQ+ people. So people in the community that say we don’t belong are fooling themselves.
