I think putting Solas in a modern au would be really funny because imagine he's a professor at Rook's college, alright, and Rook thinks that he's annoying because he's one of those "no laptop, no cellphone, and no headphones" kind of professors. Rook is one of his best students and the two of them hate each other for it, especially because Solas has a notoriously difficult class.

But the minute they have an honest to god conversation, the lore that Solas drops on Rook is insane. Like "What do you mean you once threw a molotov cocktail at a police station and lit it on fire professor?" "What do you mean you doxxed mayoral candidate Elgar'nan to keep him from winning reelection, professor?" "What do you mean you're married to congresswoman Lavellan, professor!?"

Idk I just think the potential for unhinged modern au Solas is very good.
