Want another timeless story about men writing women?

I joined a local writing group. Showed up to my very first meeting, all excited. There’s a guy there writing a story about a strong, independent single mom who gets superpowers, and it’s full of local southern desert folklore. I’m thinking, "Hell yeah. Love a good lady protagonist. Love local myths. I'm in."

But.

When she gets her powers… she transforms into an anime version of herself. With purple hair. And massive boobs.

But don’t worry! It’s not random! It’s artistically justified.

See, the villain made an artistic rendering of her—as a hentai girl, mid-explicitly depraved act. And when the Magical Plot Thing™ happens, that’s what she physically becomes.

So now this strong single mom, exploring the spiritual landscape of the American Southwest, interacting with ancient desert spirits and folkloric legends, representing maternal resilience and cultural heritage…

...is doing all of that while looking like a voluptuous, purple-haired, Japanese anime girl.
