the first scene i can think of rn is the one where sokka thinks 'you would have liked to see the moon tonight. you always would' or something along those lines?? that or the end of four seasons where zuko and sokka dance together in the park GOD that gets me every time

Maybe it was that he had never been so close to him for any reasonable length of time, as to allow him to look. Maybe it was that, whenever he had been, anger and hatred had twisted his features into something now unrecognizable, here on the frozen tundra. Whatever the reason, Sokka found himself somewhat transfixed, despite himself, unable to look away from his pale, ghostly face.

There was something about him – something about the way he looked, silver moonlight reflecting off the snow, bathing him in its strange pale light. The deep purple bruising beneath his eye, tightly shut in fitful sleep, the slashes across his furrowed brow, the split lip Sokka was so used to seeing pulled into a sneer, here silent at last, lips chapped by the wind. He looked young. He looked tired.

It was then that Sokka realized - this boy could scarcely be older than he was. The prince of the fire nation, sent alone and unaided into battle to face his father’s fiercest foe. He should be grateful for that, surely. After all, they were in no way prepared to face the fire lord himself, at least, not yet. But he couldn’t help but wonder how it could be so. His own father had fought tooth and nail to keep his children from the war, even when it found itself on their doorstep, a beast with gaping mouth and large, gleaming teeth, ready to devour and destroy what little they had left. How had such a nation’s prince been pulled from his lavish finery, to find himself in such a lowly state?

Zuko groaned, and turned his head, and Sokka was faced with the gnarled scar which covered half the boy’s face, here in the low light as black as cinders and ash, and felt his stomach turn. How could he have allowed himself to feel sympathy for this boy? This was war – and war with a nation that would send its own wounded prince into battle. There was no room in it, for such humanity.

Sokka turned away from him, into the black night ahead, determined not to look back at him again, lest he be taken in by his own foolish weakness once more.

5. Favorite little detail in a drawing you did.

Two favorites:

I really love the detail on the leather and embroidery on this character design I did for a friend (which I never actually posted because not my character)

And

I really enjoy the details of his freckles and the hair that curls up in front of his face, idk I just think it's charming 🥰

8. Underrated drawing you did

Honestly this one, because it worked very hard on it and I think it's really good, plus its fanart so something people would actually recognize, but it didn't really get as much traction as I expected

When Sokka had gone, Zuko lay back against his bed, holding the guitar close against his chest. Zuko didn’t know any chords, or the names of any of the notes, or even how to carry a tune, but as he lay there, thinking of the press of Sokka’s lips against his, the warm touch of his hand against his cheek, dragging his thumb softly across the strings, it sounded an awful lot like a love song to him.

Okay this is definitely cheating but here's what comes up for "hands" if I control f in all my wips:

Beside him sits Sokka’s broken picture frame. In it, a slightly dog-eared picture of a quaint little family, who’s faces smile out at Zuko warmly. It takes him a moment, but Zuko recognizes little Sokka and Katara, and even their dad, looking a little less grey and a lot less tired, and just as handsome. The woman, he realizes, must be their mom. Her smile is the brightest, her brown eyes warm and welcoming. He can almost feel what it might be like, to sink into a hug like the one memorialized in Sokka’s precious family portrait.

Zuko can feel his heart break, a little.

Sokka looks just like her.

5. Anything you haven't drawn yet but want to?

There are so many things I want to draw that I just haven't gotten around to :'( I've had the prompt "drummer Sokka" written on my to draw list for like 2 years probably at this point, I still want to do drawing for chapters 3 and 4 of four seasons, and there are so so many oc drawings I want to do I won't bore you with them all but like I really want to do family portraits...

9: Are there any fics you’d love to see but don’t want to write yourself? What are they?

For one thing, I would want more modern aus set in the atla universe because it's so cool! Like Why bring them to our stupid boring universe when they could all have cool powers and modern conveniences.

Also, I had an idea for an extremely angst-ridden fic once that involved having Sokka and Zuko fall in love when they were young, but their responsibilities drove them apart and forced them to build separate lives, and they're only able to reconcile and finally be together when they're much older. There were a lot more details, but honestly I don't want to put in the kind of effort required to write something that spans an entire lifetime so...

17: What has been the proudest moment for you so far since you started writing?

I was going to say something else to try and sound cool and well-adjusted, but actually the coolest moment of fic writing was when Ruby Oldpotato commented on What The Good Days Left Behind because I was like?? Aren't you like, famous?? Don't you have better things to be doing and reading??? IDK i am just not very used to seeing people who I recognize in my notifications I guess ajsjdlgsdh

20 and Lief for the microstory if youre up for it?

alone, finally

With the soft click of the door shutting behind him. He is alone, finally. Silence falls, heavy and tangible.

Nothing much has really changed here, since he last saw it. A blanket of dust has fallen to cover all his meager treasures, now scattered on the floor where the guards likely tossed them in their search for him. Even his mattress is askew, though he’s sure if he sat upon it, it, too would give up a cloud of dust, so long ago now had his world been turned upside down.

But apart from that, it all looks the same. Perhaps, then, it is he who has changed so much as to make it feel foreign to him.

He rests his hand on the belt at his waist. Somehow, it feels even heavier now than it did before. And The weight of the world feels heavy on his shoulders. His heart, well, that feels heavy too.

He wants to cry – he’s not ashamed of that. But the tears refuse to come. So instead, he simply falls to his knees, the sound of it echoing deep in his bones.

He hears the door open behind him.

“Oh, Lief.”

Jasmine’s keen senses had felt his fall too, then.

She drops down beside him, her lithe arms coming up around him, holding him close. He feels a strong hand fall onto his shoulder, heavy and great in a different way.

“It’s alright Lief. We are here with you. You are not alone in this.”

And he feels the tears finally begin to fall.
