Step 4 of the WilmU Art Exhibition
Framing and wiring the work!  This is one of the hardest parts because not only does it take a lot of time, often it takes more than one try.  When you are putting a piece of artwork in a frame you must find the right frame size, make sure the artwork is straight within the frame and make sure there are no marks or dust on the inside of the glass.  Wiring a frame is a multistep process.  First you drill the holes for your hooks, after that you put your hooks into the holes.  Then you cut the wire to length, and finally you tie the wire to the hooks.

Step 3 Promoting your Exhibition
Promotion!  So far we have promoted through social media sites; tumblr, instagram (wilmuartexhibition2016), Twitter (@wilmuartexpo), and facebook (wilmington university student art exhibition).  We have also created ideas for our official promotional flyers and invitation postcard.  Although we have not chosen a final template we are getting close.  Music is a great way to entertain at an exhibition and this year the Wilmington University Art Exhibition will be having live music.

Step 2: Exhibition Checklist
Catalog all the art work.  At the moment we have over 80 pieces of artwork, so cataloging is taking quite some time.  Cataloging involves taking a picture of the piece and matching it with name of artist, title, medium, size, instructor, class, and surface.

Step 1 of a WilmU Art Exhibition
Find your art. Professors from Wilmington University ask students to submit their art for the exhibition.  When a student agrees to submit their work they must fill out an art loan agreement.  This allows us to use their artwork in this years exhibition. Artwork was collected throughout the summer and fall of 2015 and winter of 2016.

Art Exhibition
What exactly is an art exhibition?  Well the dictionary definition is an exhibition of art objects.  To expand on that, it is a place where artists can showcase their skills.  The Wilmu Art Exhibition is all student artwork that has been collected and organized for anyone to come see.  Professors from the various art classes at Wilmington University ask students to allow their work to be showcased.
The exhibition itself starts on March 11 at 6pm.
