A sorte da Casa de Durin mudou quando Thorin conheceu Gandalf por acaso em 2941 da Terceira Era. Gandalf queria que Thorin e uma companhia de anãos viajassem para a Montanha Solitária, levando Bilbo Bolseiro com eles. O instinto de Gandalf dizia que a Busca de Erebor só seria bem-sucedida se Bilbo os acompanhasse.

A Casa de Durin era uma linhagem de anãos fundada por Durin, o Imortal, e era conhecida por sua habilidade em minerar e criar objetos valiosos.

Thorin Escudo de Carvalho, o líder dos anãos, havia perdido a Montanha Solitária (Erebor) para o dragão Smaug, e estava determinado a recuperá-la. No entanto, Gandalf, o mago, sabia que a jornada seria perigosa e que os anãos precisariam da ajuda de alguém inesperado: Bilbo Bolseiro, um Hobbit.

Gandalf acreditava que Bilbo, apesar de sua aparência e habilidades aparentemente insignificantes, possuía qualidades que seriam fundamentais para o sucesso da missão. E, de fato, Bilbo acabou desempenhando um papel crucial na jornada, usando sua inteligência, sua astúcia e sua coragem para ajudar os anãos a superar os desafios que encontraram.

Essa reunião entre Thorin e Gandalf marca o início da aventura que é contada no livro O Hobbit, e é um exemplo da forma como Tolkien usa a interação entre personagens para impulsionar a trama e criar uma história emocionante e cheia de surpresas.

Missing scene: Hesina, heavily pregnant with her third child, gets a letter from the army that Kaladin was dead, four years after he wrote to them saying his brother was dead. (She tells him later they got this letter just after he was made a slave, either to spare them the shame, or to discourage any inquiries into his fate).

Day six of painting something in gouache every day through May. I find again that studies and practice aren’t for me. I need to go all-in, do a full illustration, make all the mistakes, and learn that way.

This year during the @thorinsspringforge, I had so much fun cooperating with @thorne-kreizler-fanfiction 😍😍😍

It was a pure pleasure to illustrate her amazing story "Cursed Walls" that you can read on AO3. It's really worth it! This is my first art piece of this kind, I'm a beginner when it comes to art, and still learning so constructive feedback is very welcome!
