The Scuttle Chest is printed and oh lord she's a bit fun to play with 😀👍🏼 I think I might print a blue one 💙🦀 next. Blue, silver, and sandy colour scheme. What do you think?

This morning I was feeling pretty nerdy, so I made a custom Firefox banner theme! 🦖💻 I painted a little night scene of Rexy and Cera and turned it into a browser theme using Firefox Color. ✨ I've submitted it as an official theme, and its now available for download as a Firefox Add-on here .
or copy this link: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/rexy-and-cera-night-sky/
Let me know what you think, or if you’ve ever made your own nerdy browser themes too 🦕💜

WIP sneak peek of the Scuttle Chest Mimic! 🦀💎 She's almost finished printing and honestly, I'm in love. Look at those claws! Look at that snoot!! This little mimic is my newest functional sculpture, she can hold a whole deck of MTG cards and a set of dice like the treasure hoarder she is. 💼🎲 The lid is printing today (fingers crossed!), and then I’m planning a full photoshoot once she’s all assembled. Might even include a printable adoption certificate and care guide 😏 Stay tuned for the final reveal! ✨

Round 2 of learning how to animate a walk cycle... and wow, it’s hard😅 I struggled a bit with the timing this time around, but I did manage to figure out how to make it loop properly, which feels like a win! 🎉 Overall, I think this version looks way more polished than my first try. Let me know what you think, I’m always open to tips and feedback! 🦖💛

Here’s a little sneak peek into my process for this painting of Rexy and Cera 💙💛 To start, I set up a super basic scene in Blender with simple shapes to block out the forest. Then I posed Rexy and Cera, framed the shot, and brought it all into Procreate to paint over the 3D render and give it that soft, painterly vibe. ✨ This piece was such a joy to work on, even though I chipped away at it between other projects, I loved watching it slowly come to life. I'm so pumped to make more like this and explore storytelling through these two characters. Would you like to see more of this style? 🦖🌿🦕
Let me know what you think!

This is something I’ve been putting off for way too long, but I’m finally bringing this old corgi statue back to life 🐶💛He was gifted to me a while ago, and ever since, I’ve wanted to remodel him and give him a new life.
A few days ago I added more volume to his fluffy cheeks, and today I started sculpting around his eyes using apoxy putty. I’ve never sculpted a life-sized dog before, so I’m super curious (and a little nervous) to see how he turns out in the end! Thinking of calling him Cheder 🧀🐾

The Scuttle Chest prototype print came out beautifully ❤️🦀 I found a few things that need to be tweaked but its good progress. What do you think? Is it a crab or a treasure chest? mimic?

🌟 🦖 I’ve been putting off this animation project for a few weeks now, it felt kind of scary and overwhelming. But today, I finally gave it a go and started with a Rexy walk cycle! It’s a bit janky in places, but honestly, I’m really proud of it. For my first try, I think it turned out pretty strong. There are definitely things I’ll improve next time, like creating a smoother loop and finding a better rhythm in the steps, but this feels like a solid start.
It feels good to finally get over that mental block and just try. What do you think? know any good animation tutorial that could help me out?

I’m so excited to move on to the next stage, adding details and some stylised flair! Next up, I need to figure out how to split and hinge the claws and how to make the model as print-friendly as possible. I’m aiming for a print-in-place design with minimal supports, so it’s easy for others to print at home. I love working out joints and moving parts, it’s like solving a little brain puzzle, and it makes sculpting feel even more fun. This kind of work brings me so much joy. 💛 What do you think of the progress so far?

This is The Scuttling Chest, my next 3D printable model idea! 🦀💼 My goal is to make a functional sculpture that’s also easy to print, and now that I’ve finished the concept art, I get to start the fun part, the modelling! ✨
I don’t know why I find crabs so fascinating? Maybe because they’re kind of cute, dumb, and mysterious all at once. 😂 This design will open and close like a little treasure box, and you’ll be able to hide small things inside. I’m planning to use mine for all my loose jewelry 💍🖤
Do you like my newest design? Do you like crabs?

Painted my first bug buddy 🪲💛
Okay, so I’m not a painter (yet), but I’m trying to build this skill! I painted this Rhinoceros Beetle model from Dragon Trappers Lodge and honestly? I think he turned out pretty cute. 😄
It was my first go at dry brushing and picking out details, and I had so much fun seeing it come to life. Definitely plan on painting more soon! Model by Dragon Trappers Lodge, you can find them here. Let me know what you think! ✨💬

This little guy started as a fun idea I couldn’t get out of my head. What if a turtle was the Zen garden?

I’ve been playing around with mixing whimsy and peace lately, and this model came out of that space. I didn’t really make this for any grand purpose. I just wanted to make something that felt gentle. Playful. Serene. Something that might make someone smile when they glance at it on their desk. 🧘‍♀️💜
I printed mine in a couple of different colorways, and it was super fun seeing how each version gave it a different personality. No supports needed, just a little brim so his toes stay put. He’s now hanging out with me in the studio, keeping things chill while I work. 🌊✨
If you’d like to print one too, he’s up on my Cults3D shop! 💛 Let me know if you make one, I’d love to see your version!

This piece started as an idea to try something I’m calling 2.5D art.
a bit of 3D, a bit of painting 😃👍🦖
I made Rexy and Cera in Blender, texture-painted them, rigged them up, and posed them. Once I had the composition in mind, I generated a stylised forest background using AI, brought it into Blender, and set up the full scene with lighting and camera perspective.
From there, I rendered the shot and moved into Procreate for the final pass, painting over the background, tweaking the lighting, and refining the edges to give it a more illustrated, dreamy vibe.
This hybrid process lets me keep the form and depth of 3D while layering in the softness and mood of 2D art , and it’s so much faster! A painting like this would usually take me days (sometimes weeks), but this only took a single day start to finish.
It’s been a fun experiment in workflow and storytelling, definitely something I want to explore more. 💛
*** Just a quick note, since I know the topic of AI in art can be sensitive.
I built my characters, posed them, and rendered them in Blender, everything from modeling to rigging was done by me. I used a generated background as a base, mainly to guide lighting and mood, the same way artists have used stock photos or photobashing for years. The final result was painted over in Procreate, with hand-painted lighting and adjustments.
This wasn’t about skipping effort for me, it was an experiment in workflow and storytelling and trying something new. I was transparent about my process because I’m proud of what I created and how I made it.
It’s okay if this approach isn’t for everyone.
Happy experimenting everyone.

I didn’t have a grand plan when I started this piece, I just needed to shake off some creative block and have some fun again. It turned into this peaceful little guy I'm calling the Zen Turtle. Designed as a cute desk décor or chill companion for a shelf. I'm currently printing and will be available soon on my Cults3D store!
Sometimes making art just for the joy of it is the best therapy 🧘‍♀️💚

This is Rexy V2, I'm so glad I stuck to it and spent more time on his design. The next step is to learn animation ^_^ Rexy and Cera are friends not food.

This week’s update! I decided to retopologize Rexy again. I felt like his last design was a bit too flat, and I really wanted to bring out more shape and character. This new version is a little chunkier, and I was heavily inspired by the new glimpses of the WWTD Tyrannosaurus. I think she looks absolutely adorable!
I also did a quick painting to finally settle on Rexy's new colour scheme. The blues and reds are completely opposite to Cera’s yellows and greens, and that’s intentional. Since they represent predator and prey, I wanted their colours to show how different they are, yet despite those differences, they still enjoy each other’s company. Let me know what you think! Thanks so much, guys. 🦖💙💛
