I should be sleeping right now but this AU idea came to me and won't leave me alone

Ok so it's the late 70s/early 80s, and Ford has just received word that Stanley is dead. Of course Ford is devastated, to say the least.

Stan left a suicide note on the dashboard of his car, addressed to Ford. Along with his final goodbyes and apologies, Stan also wrote that he wanted Ford to have the Stanleymobile. For the past decade, that car was like a piece of his soul, and he didn't want it to end up in a scrapyard (nor did he want it sent to their parents in Jersey; Pa would probably just sell it for parts).

So the car is towed to Gravity Falls. The interior of the car is apparently left untouched, and Ford is extra devastated to see plain evidence that Stanley had been living in it. No wonder the car was so important to him; it was his only home for so many years...

The car sits outside Ford's home, unused. While it's true that Ford had been needing a replacement vehicle ever since Steve devoured the last one, he couldn't bring himself to start using this vehicle. The thought of using the Stanleymobile for everyday transportation needs felt... wrong. It felt like disturbing Stanley's grave. Ford just couldn't bring himself to drive it.

But that's okay. He doesn't need to drive it, because the car can drive itself.

It can start its own engine without any keys in the ignition. It honks and flashes its headlights like it's trying to get Ford's attention. By all accounts, the vehicle has a mind and will of its own. One might even say the car is alive.

Stanley did say in his note that the car was like his soul, or that his soul was linked to it, or something to that effect.

Apparently he never left.

i'm seeing a lot of "toriel is neglectful/a bad parent" for spending one (1) night drunk and in company of other man while her kid is, as far as she knows, outside doing a school project with their new friend and their neightbour, and not so many "asgore is selfish/kind of creepy for following toriel to the places she regulary attends just to force a conversation as an attempt to get back together with her".

Art Fight time!

Starting again on July 1st is my favorite online artist event: Art Fight! If you have OCs, and enjoy making and receiving art involving OCs, then I highly suggest you check out the site and set up an account!

For those who aren’t familiar with Art Fight, here’s a brief overview:

Each year, participating artists are split into two teams.

The main goal is to find any artist from the team opposite yours, and ‘attack’ them by drawing art of their ocs! Your team receives points based on what you create.

Artists that receive attacks can then ‘counter’ by drawing an OC belonging to the person who fought them, or pay it forward by simply attacking anyone on the opposing team!

Art Fight is a great chance to interact with tons of different artists, get to know the amazing OCs that others have created, and have a lot of fun making art! The art you receive is also very exciting; you never know who may attack you! Keep in mind, it’s all in good fun and any skill level is welcome!!

The event lasts a month (July 1st - August 1st), and the team with the most points by the end wins!

I've been planning this illustration for over a month now - in April, I had the patreon folks vote on a theme for a big gravity falls print, and camping was the winner. Even just planning the general composition took a while, figuring out where I wanted all the characters to be. Once I shored up a good thumbnail, I made it tighter twice before putting it on paper, and working in pencil. The pencil drawing part took me four sit down sessions of drawing, and then coloring the scan took another couple of days. I worked SO DANG HARD to finish this monster before mc3, and by some miracle, I did.

Overall, I'm really happy with how this illustration turned out! I feel like it does a good job of expressing my love for the show. I'm really glad people were enthusiastic about it at the convention - I had a lot stop and look at it with these really awestruck, sad wet goo goo eyes expressions LOL! They did this: 🥺 with an actual human face dskjhlsdfkjh!!
