One of the most important things to unpack and unlearn when you’re part of a white supremacy saturated society (i.e. the global north) and especially if you were raised in an intensified form of it (evangelicism, right wing politics, explicit racism) is the urge to punish and take revenge.

It manifests in our lives all the time and it is inherently destructive. It makes relationships and interactions adversarial for no good reason. It undermines cooperation and good civic order. It worsens some types of crime. It creates trauma, especially in children.

Imagine approaching unexpected or unacceptable behavior from a perspective of "how can this be stopped, and prevented" instead of "you’re going to regret this!”

Imagine dealing with a problem or conflict from the perspective of “how can this be solved in a way that is just and restorative” instead of “the people who caused this are going to pay.”

How much would that change you? How much would that have changed for you?

So fun fact from the reptile breeding world;

These guys are insanely delicate and hard to breed (partially because they're almost entirely aquatic with hyper specific water parameters and eat almost entirely fish so it's also super easy to give them parasites if you don't have a safe food source) and if you ever see them for sale near you there is a 98% chance they are wild caught. I've only heard of like maybe 3 guys who have successfully bred these guys in captivity and they're very prone to fungal infections. It's also HIGHLY dangerous to take them out of water as their bodies aren't built to hold their weight on land so I worry about the ethics of a lot of these pictures.

So yes in conclusion they're very cute but definitely be careful not to accidentally unethically source an animal because they're cute and always do your research on weird creatures for sale near you.

Feeling very normal about my boyfriends whale tail as of late.

So boyfriend's omegaverse themed birthday party was yesterday and let me tell you it was genuinely delightful to see adults get so excited and impassioned for what was initially a bit.

One person showed up in Spock cosplay with booty shorts painted to say "know your herstory."

But genuinely the delight of the evening was we had a most bizarre found ABO fanfic reading contest, and the only aroace in attendance was the only one brave enough to read explicit NSFW.

It was Omegaverse Muppets. Yes she did voices. I'm going to be riding this high for at least a week.

My like.. favorite malicious compliance to do at the pet store I work at, is when jerks ask for feeder insects. You see I'm allowed to be somewhat liberal, especially with crickets that are less than 5 cents each, and normally I am. However if you're a prick and you ask me for, let's say, 100 crickets, you can be certain, no matter how long it takes, you will get exactly 100 crickets. Hell maybe even 96-98 crickets just to fuck with you. Because what mad man counts out 100 crickets.
