Love is not indicative of morality or worth. How much you love or are loved does not inherently say anything about how good of a person you are or how worthy and successful you are in life.

🇺🇸recall of various types of canned tuna due to fucking botulism <- CAN KILL YOU 🇺🇸
this involves some pretty big name tunas. if you eat canned tuna in the united states, you are going to want to check this list. botulism is one of the biggest deals in food poisoning. THESE CANS CAN FUCKING KILL YOU
EL SEGUNDO, CA, February 7, 2025 – Tri-Union Seafoods has made the decision to voluntarily recall select lots of canned tuna products sold under the Genova®, Van Camp’s®, H-E-B and Trader Joe’s brand names. This voluntary recall is out of an abundance of caution following the notification from our supplier that the “easy open” pull tab can lid on limited products encountered a manufacturing defect that may compromise the integrity of the product seal (especially over time), causing it to leak, or worse, be contaminated with clostridium botulinum, a potentially fatal form of food poisoning. Consumers are warned not to use the product even if it does not look or smell spoiled. Consumers feeling unwell should seek immediate medical attention. No illnesses associated with the recalled products have been reported and the recall is being conducted to ensure consumer safety. The impacted products were distributed to retail stores as follows: H-E-B label - Texas Trader Joe’s label – Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington D.C., and Wisconsin Genova 7 oz. - Costco in Florida and Georgia Genova 5 oz. - Harris Teeter, Publix, H-E-B, Kroger, Safeway, Walmart, and independent retailers in Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, New Jersey, Tennessee, and Texas Van Camp’s label – Walmart and independent retailers in Pennsylvania, Florida and New Jersey
some emphasis mine. this is not a comprehensive list of retailers. these cans were sold in more stores than what is listed, and there is no complete list of affected stores. long story short the pull tab has a defect that makes these cans the perfect environment to give you botulism. and botulism is REALLY REALLY FUCKING bad. it is one of the deadliest forms of food poisoning and commonly grows in dented or damaged cans. unfortunately, the recall announcement does not currently include images.
tumblr does not let me make tables, so I cannot easily format all the necessary information in a way that I am confident will be easy to read and understand. so here is the list of names, and check the FDA link for the specifics of what can codes and best by dates are affected.
Genova Solid White Tuna in Olive Oil 5.0 oz
Genova Yellowfin Tuna in Olive Oil 5.0 oz
Genova Yellowfin Tuna in 0live Oil 5.0 oz 4 Pack
Genova Yellowfin Tuna in Olive 0il 7.0 oz 6 Pack
Genova Yellowfin Tuna in in Extra Virgin Olive Oil with Sea Salt 5.0 oz
Van Camp's Solid Light Tuna in Oil 5.0 oz
Van Camp's Solid Light Tuna in 0il 5 oz 4 Pack
Trader Joe's Solid Light Yellowfin Tuna in Olive Oil
Trader Joe's Solid White Tuna in Olive Oil
Trader Joe's Solid White Tuna in Water
Trader Joe's Solid White Water Low Sodium
Trader Joe's Solid White Water No Salt Added
H-E-B Solid White Tuna in Water 5.0 oz 4 Pack
if you recognize these types of tuna or buy tuna from those stores, stop reading here and click the FDA link at the top for more information. not all cans in these lines are being recalled, but the affected cans have best by dates into 2028.
from the wikipedia entry about botulism:
The disease begins with weakness, blurred vision, feeling tired, and trouble speaking. This may then be followed by weakness of the arms, chest muscles, and legs. Vomiting, swelling of the abdomen, and diarrhea may also occur. The disease does not usually affect consciousness or cause a fever.
...and these vague symptoms, which may not even all appear in someone with botulism, eventually lead to muscle weakness and paralysis to the point someone is unable to call for help, and might eventually stop being able to breathe. while fully conscious.
from the foodsafetynews article on this recall:
In foodborne botulism, symptoms generally begin 18 to 36 hours after eating contaminated food. However, symptoms can begin as soon as 6 hours after or up to 10 days later.
according to the wikipedia article, 5%-10% of people who get botulism will die with timely medical intervention. without medical intervention, botulism kills 50% of the people it sickens. this is emergency room ASAP level stuff.
please send the FDA link to anyone you know who eats canned tuna in the US. although no illnesses have been attributed to this defect yet, it may only be a matter of time as the seals on these cans degrade. please do not become the first.

Hallucinating is normal, many people experience it. You have most likely at least passed someone in the street who was hallucinating once. Or you've worked alongside a coworker who was actively hallucinating and you didn't even notice. Or your loved one hallucinated while you were in the room, but they were afraid to tell you.
Hallucinating is common, it's just not commonly talked about in everyday situations. If you don't experience it, or don't know someone who does and tells you about it, you've probably only heard it in the news or on TV. And they only really represent the worst possible outcome for shock value. But that isn't representative of how most of us who hallucinate experience it.
Most of us are just like everybody else, living our lives, just with the addition of hallucinations. We may need to take pills every day, or need therapy, or need to stay in mental hospitals sometimes, or need to be checked on by loved ones, but so do a lot of other people who don't hallucinate.
Hallucinations are just a symptom. Just like anxiety, or trouble concentrating, or tiredness. A lot of people experience it and have to learn to cope overtime. The only difference is we don't generally talk about it to people in casual settings. And it's because of the stigma. If you don't hallucinate, or know someone who does, you probably don't see hallucinations as a normal part of life, a symptom, just a thing plenty of people experience. But it is, it's not special, it isn't more dangerous, it doesn't have to be a huge deal.
Obviously hallucinations can be life changing and horrific, but so can other mental health symptoms. Hallucinations can also be neutral, or just annoying or even a positive experience. It's just a symptom, it doesn't automatically mean someone is in the worst mental state possible if they are hallucinating. It doesn't automatically mean someone is dangerous or unpredictable. It just means a person is experiencing senses that the people around them are not.
You have to learn to accept that it's just a symptom, and that people around you experience it, and they deserve to complain or talk about it just like anyone else gets to with other things in their lives. All you have to do is listen, and try to be understanding. Hallucinating is normal, you just need to stop treating it like it's abnormal.

Shout out to mentally ill people who dropped out of school
- shout out to the kids who were “so bright” and ‘heading somewhere” and had to drop out because school was too much to handle along with mental illness
- shout out to the kids who struggled to get where they got before they dropped out
- shout out to the kids who tried and tried and tried and still couldn’t finish
you aren’t unintelligent because you dropped out of school, you aren’t a delinquent or a bad person because you dropped out of school, just because you did what you had to doesn’t make you a bad person

the word empathy is WIDELY misused, even in mental health spaces.
empathy:
is responding to a person’s emotions by experiencing the same emotion as them (i.e. feeling sad when something sad happens to that person, or happy when something happy happens to that person.)
is an automatic response that cannot be controlled
cannot be learned
sympathy:
is recognizing that another person is in pain, even if you do not experience that pain, and offering comfort to that person
is something a person must actively choose to do
can be learned
compassion:
is showcasing care and support via words and actions
is something a person must actively choose to do
can be learned
if you need an example of a person with no empathy who practices sympathy and compassion, look no further than data from star trek: the next generation. he doesn’t have emotions at all, but he’s still kind to people and wants to help them.
stop telling people that they’re evil because they don’t experience empathy. stop equating empathy with morality. stop equating empathy with caring. stop saying that cruel people “lack empathy.” stop throwing neurodivergent and mentally ill people under the bus.

hm.. been thinking bout changing the url here for a while to smth like. ascel-aro . as a treat cause aro pilled .
only drawback is that links of old posts will break in embeds/etc - but also hopefully that should be fixed easily with a small text edit ? (ie changing the 'vibes' in the old link to 'aro' and it'd work again.)

Deltarune CH 3 & 4 Content Warnings (no to minimum spoilers)
Lot of eyestrain, flashing lights in chapter 3, especially near the end.
And chapter 4 has some eyestrain with some areas trying to navigate, as well as some mild trypophobia near the end.
CH 4 also have some sections of potential misophonia.
There is also a mild-medium amount of pixelated blood at the end of CH 4.
Additionally, you can not adjust individual volume types, and both chapters have some harsh noises scattered throughout. (High pitch screetchs for 3 and high pitch ring/ding noises for 4)
Any difficulty or skill based locks in these chapters are fairly reachable, aside from a couple.
More details below, will try to keep it non spoilery
In CH 3 near the middle, several TV sets in grids switch between channels, some of withc having somewhat rapid patterns. This is fairly mild.
There's an optional area you can access throughout CH 3. On interaction with an object in this area, a screen will display flashing images, briefly pause and then proceed before stopping. While interacting with this screen, certain actions you can take cause a high pitch screeching noise, and it's hard to tell what cause this until you do. Additionally in these moments, some of them can cause video crt style distortion which is pretty eye strainy
Additionally in CH3, the boss, upon being defeated will cause a long sequence of quickly flashing images.
In CH4, various enemies have sound based actions you can take against them. These actions cause high pitch ringing, dinging, and other such noises.
The trypophobia in CH4 is specifically during the boss, in which eye symbols can flash briefly, as well as being common, but not clustered throughout the sequence and some attacks have projectiles appearing similar to cartoonish eyes that fire at the soul.
The misophonia in CH4 is near the middle. In a dark section, sound queues are used to indicate attack direction. These sound queues are intended to subtly sound like words corresponding to the direction (left, right, etc.). However a very mild flashing visual queue accompanies them, which can be used in place of the sound.
The blood in CH 4 is pixels, and is not in large amounts. However, some of it does drip off someone's hand, and some gets on someone's face.
The skill/difficulty based locks that we didn't find easily reachable were all optional, being the secret bosses of both CH. However, the CH 4 secret boss does not have to be defeated to obtain the rewards.
