Emma wasn’t one to involve herself in human affairs. Not like how she used to with the Hellfire Club, manipulating events into their favour by having world leaders and politicians under their thumb. Though she was currently learning the errors of her ways with the X-Men, she helped the humans cause it was the right thing to do but not because she liked it. She never mistaken tolerance for trust. In a way, it was nice that they could go back to this unknown status.
Stepping into the higher class bar, she was going to at least enjoy herself. “A Manhattan please.” She said as she stood at the bar. As she watched her drink be made, she glanced over at an altercation that seemed to be happening between one of the waitresses and a customer. She watched for a moment before looking away, instead choosing to focus on her drink being made. They were humans. They wouldn’t step in for her kind. Glancing again, Emma saw the man becoming too touchy for anyone’s liking as he was rebuffed. It reminded her of when she started as a dancer at the Hellfire Club. God damn the X-Men and their moral code as she walked on over.
She clicked her fingers with a sharp snap, causing him to look at her. Before he could even utter a word, Emma already went into that sty he called a mind. “You don’t want a margarita. You want a flat, half-empty beer.” She told him, looking him in the eyes as her telepathy took grasp and he happily obliged with the command as she handed him the leftover drink as he got up to leave. Though some people raised a brow at why he would listen to her so easily, Emma stayed quiet, taking her drink instead as she made her way to a booth to sit alone or so she thought. @rewrittenstart

( abbey lee. she/her. female. 33. marvel. ) would you look at EMMA FROST name roaming around the avenger’s tower! they’re supposedly THE WHITE QUEEN and work with THE X-MEN, identifying as a ANTI-HERO. they ARE NOT around here often, so i wonder what’s got them here today. it’s been said that they’ve been acting off for THREE WEEKS, so maybe it has to do with the tower. lets just hope the new york times doesn’t have much to say about them in the future.
statistics:
name: emma grace frost age: 33 faceclaim: abbey lee alias: white queen powers/skills: omega level telepath, organic diamond form increasing all physical attributes and shielding her from psionic attacks, a magna cum laude in psychology and business, trained teacher. alliance: x-men threat level (out of ten):  10/10. emma has once been a villain and has killed before and inflicted torture with her telepathic powers. she sits in a morally grey area and is willing to do what is necessary. history file: case file notable changes from 2012 to the timeline they were pulled from: I never have Emma be possessed by the Phoenix Force because it was just bad writing. I always play it around the New X-Men and Astonishing X-Men series where she has joined them already.  last memory before ending up in nyc, 2012: getting a manicure cause boss bitch tings.
questionnaire:
How are you feeling? Physically and mentally.
“Me? I am perpetually annoyed by what has happened. I’m sure the Avengers had something to do with it. Probably played to rough with one of their cosmic toys.
Where are you living? The same place you lived in 2012, or displaced to a random apartment? Explain to the best of your ability.
“The X-Mansion still of course.”
What do YOU think we should do about the situation at hand? Try to go back home? The original mission of stopping Thanos? Rewrite the entire story?
”I say we put things back to how they were but for the betterment of all mutants I say. The homo sapiens keep breaking the world and I won’t be dictated to by another hairless ape much longer.”
What will you DO about the situation at hand?
“Lead my kind into salvation. I have seen enough of my people die at the hands of other who claim to want to save us. Never again.”
Is there anything that you think needs to be done?
“Did I stutter?”
If need be, would you be willing to team up with the government and SHIELD to recoup and help the situation at hand?
“Let us rephrase that shall we? Would I work with them to ensure the safety of mutants? Of course. Would I step in to save them? Maybe. Would I care if they became collateral damage? Hardly. When it comes to moles like SHIELD and the government, it is best to get what you want from them and then cut them off at the knees.”
What are your worries?
“I have seen enough mutants die. I have seen enough children die. I have stood amongst corpses of my people. Never again.”
What do you think are the pros about this situation?
“We can change our situation now for the better before it gets any worse.”
Anything else?

“It wasn’t his fight, an’ he died for it.” NOVA had been after metahumans, aliens, mutants, inhumans, non-humans - everything but humans. “Ah’d choose someone wantin’ to fight against oppression over someone who just shares a gene.” Anna knew perfectly well how mutants turned against each other. She knew better than to fully trust anyone just because they had the X-Gene, but her trust had been broken too many times, and by people she trusted and loved. Even now, she loved Raven in spite of every cruel thing she’d done.
Anna sighed. “Not sayin’ ya gotta have sympathy or gratitude, but maybe dig in deep and find some respect. Scott worked with him. Erik, too. Even let his family inside District X.” She had no stakes in Bruce Wayne, really, but she respected what Bruce and Steve did with the team even though they weren’t mutants. The X-Men had helped them a handful of times, though, so she’d worked alongside them all. She knew they were good people.

“How much mutant blood was spilled before a human stepped in?” Emma asked simply as she stared back at the other woman. Maybe sympathy wasn’t her strong point but she viewed everything like a game of chess. Every move was calculated, including the loss of a life. Despite not feeling particularly good about it, she also didn’t feel too hard done by the fact he had died. After all, she had watched numbers upon numbers of mutants die and she now had to show empathy for one human man? “Perhaps but, you have to remember, we weren’t made to be this way.” Emma pointed out, seeing that it was homo sapiens who backed them into a corner which caused them to retaliate. “Only so many times you can poke a dog before it snaps.”
“Respect.” Emma mused for a moment as she mulled over the word. “Respect I have in abundance to be quite honest.” Emma slowly looked over to the other mutant. “My problem is that the world only heard us because a rich white human died for us. Because it was one of their own when we have watched our people die ten times over to crickets from the world.” Emma licked her bottom lip before she scoffed. “I take pride in being part of the X-Men, Anna. I believe in what we do. Our work.” Emma paused as she looked outwards. “However, I can’t ever allow compliance to be mistaken for trust. I can’t ever forgive them for what they took from me. Never not hold some contempt for them. The best I can do is assure the next generation don’t ever have the same reasons as I do.”

“I think there’s at least two,” he retorted. Maybe she’d give him that much, but he knew she was angry. Well, maybe angry was taking it too far. She wasn’t with him, and that was his own fault. When Evan had sent him out into the world, he’d tried to make the transition seamless, but he’d failed with Emma. She’d been too distracting, he hadn’t been able to find the balance, and now he found himself wanting something back that wasn’t even his to have in the first place.
“I can’t imagine.” He had many images in his mind of Emma in the middle of a battlefield with stilettos, despite whatever the situation or terrain happened to be. He’d helped her up the side of a mountain in heels.
Scott pressed his lips into a thin line as she regarded him. “I think you might be right.”
\
“I think you’d have to beg for another one.” Emma spoke as soon as he finished his retort. Emma wasn’t angry she supposed. More so disappointed. It seemed, once more, she put her everything into someone to have them recoil from her. A recurring theme in her life. Was she just that innately horrid inside herself? Was her love so twisted and tainted? Did she know how to love anything? She may not know love too well but she knew seduction. A long index finger with a flawless manicure stroke down his. Scott was like a deer. Acting too fast would cause him to bolt.
“You should know that for a woman who wears a garment from the late 20th century, I am very liberal.” She leaned forward intentionally but only slightly. Her pale skin could almost spill out onto him if she moved any closer, chest rising and falling. “Or are you still the frightened little boy who has to wait for Daddy Charles to tell you what to do, hm?”

“Awww, no need to get nasty. They have clubs you can go to and get all those dominatrix-y urges out.” he told her with a shit-eating grin. First they’d been enemies, then there was that time she possessed him, and the time she helped him recover with his powers, and the stuff with her brother. Honestly they’d been through quite a bit together but through it all he’d found joy in annoying her as much as possible. “I’ll have you know I experienced wealth for a day when your bro gave me a sizeable sum for helping out with your family drama.” Then he’d given it to a group of mutants to help them start their own care house and education programme. Better than being rich if you asked him. “I bought myself a fancy pen with a big feather on the end.”
“But then…” he looked at her in genuine confusion, “How on earth can you stand being around yourself? he asked, his usual grin back in place, “I mean talk about awful personality traits. You make Magneto seem cuddly.” (In some ways he was sure she’d take that as a compliment). “Hmmmmmm, yes.” he said lightly, “Though if you prefer we can discuss lemon light, orange light, I’m not picky. And speaking of awful clothing.” he again looked her up and down then gave her a sympathetic head shake.

“I’m starting to think you have a brat fetish and would like to be punished. Please, take that up with Christian. I don’t do beta’s.” She stated simply. Emma had an appetite and if anyone looked at her lovers in the past, they all shared one thing in common. They were alphas. Men who were powerful. In charge. Partially it was her attraction to power. Partially because she loved taking a powerful man and stepping on him with her heel. “Did you also wear the dress Julia Roberts’ wore in Pretty Woman?” She seemed distracted as she flicked through the emails on her phone, looking at some sort of proposal. “It is called a quill you uneducated twit.”
At his question, she paused for a moment. If only he knew how much she did despise herself. However, this was the way she was made. What she had to be to survive. She could change her goals but not who she had become. It was too late for that. She looked over at Bobby and simply placed a hand on the side of his face, thumb stroking his cheek. “Because Robert, you can never make everyone love you but you can make them fear you.” It was a philosophy instilled into her by the father she despised that lived on within her. “And until you shop Saks Fifth Avenue, you bargain basement words have no sway over couture, darling.”

The tip of Kurt’s tail flickered in slow motions while Kurt browsed the scriptures. He paid no mind to his open door for a moment. His students and colleagues were aware of the “open door policy” while in his office. That’s when his ears picked up the slight creak of his door starting to open. His golden eyes flickered towards the woman who had entered.
“I can’t say I have,” he addressed her before closing his bible, diverting his full attention to her. “I’ve heard the news, but I did not know the man personally. Grief is complicated to understand.”
A short breath followed in between his words. The casualties that took place were tragic, but there were other tensions in the back of his mind that came through. Daken’s attempted apology. The wrinkles in his relationship with Bobby. His free hand rested against the apple of his cheek, a half-grin forming.
“Well, my students are off today. I might have made some plans with some colleagues for the weekend. What about you, Emma?”
\
“I have some wisdom for you.” She said as she walked over to him before leaning on his desk. “That shade of blue was so 90′s.” It was her attempt of humour as she tilted her head as he brought up the news.
“Is it?” She queried as if she had never experienced such a feeling. Of course she understood grief. She had felt it when her students perished. When mutants were lost due to bigotry. It cut notches into her soul and she was sure it would get better over time. However, each time felt like the first time. It weight on her. The responsibility to be better for them. To do better. “I say drink some god awful chardonnay and be done with it. Just never cut your own bangs.” She stayed flippant on the matter.
“I’m not sure.” She admitted as she thought for a moment. “I will probably take a long both. Drink a bottle of wine. Contemplate all my life choices. The usual.” She mused. “I hope my humour has relieved you of that frown line you have.”

“The one thing? There’s only one thing?” He took a drink and looked forward again. He had so many memories of Emma that felt like his, felt like he’d been the one to be there for them and live them, but he knew that wasn’t true. The split between what belonged to the original Scott and what was his felt like it was tearing at him in a way that it was never supposed to. Evan had told him that this life wasn’t for him, that this world wasn’t for him…That might be true, but it didn’t seem to be doing anything to stop him from wanting it.
He swallowed, slipping back into the same dour expression he’d worn when he came in. “I let the control slip sometimes.” Right then it felt like it was nearing a spiral, in fact, and he had to find some way to cling to it.
\
Emma’s cobalt eyes that could stare into soul were staring into the red-eyed man in front of her. No movement besides the move of the vape pen coming between her lips, the liquid crackling as she inhaled. “Do you deserve more than one thing?” She asked, an exhale of vape smoke coming from between her lips. Of course there was far much more things she liked about the man in front of her. However, there relationship was non-existent if not strained. Her guard was back up so to speak but he had a way of making her slowly lower it. An innate weakness that she hated that she loved him for it.
“As do I. I wore flats once. Horrid choice.” She made light of the situation as she leaned forward a little more. “Though, I would say, feeling sorry for yourself is one of your less attractive qualities.” She humored as her eyes looked up to him. “I think when you have let go of the reigns, it has been some of your most exquisite work. The bed sheets would agree.” A daring comment but she was a daring woman.

“Don’t be jealous I’m the life and soul while you’re sitting in your bondage gear downing all the drinks.” he responded lightly. The woman was colder than him when it came to children; it was as funny as it was terrifying. “You rich people are all alike.” he said, sticking his tongue out at her. He bet Kurt didn’t care at all what he’d been wearing cause he’d just been happy to see him. It was one of the things he lo- liked about him. Best not to rush things Bobby. “I’m sure you don’t.” he shrugged, “You do a lot of good work and very nice to me when I came out.” One of the few times he could recall her being anything other than snappy at him, “But I also happen to know how much you looooooove a little limelight.” he smirked, “Limelight so graciously afforded to me.” Bobby snorted, “How dare you. My boxers happen to be from the bargain shop, ten packs for three bucks!”

Emma stood there for a moment before she stepped closer to him. “I think you should step into traffic. It will hurt less.” She told him as her eyes narrowed at him for a moment too long. “Yes, well, you wouldn’t know what that was like, would you.” Emma stated rather bluntly as she began walking again as he commented about rich people being all the same. Emma made no secret of her wealth or her opulent tastes. It was her money after all and she loved nice things. Nice expensive things. As he reminded her of her kindness when he came out, Emma stayed quiet for a moment, self-reflecing on that time. “I don’t hate people for their orientation. I hate them for their awful personality traits.” Perhaps that was her way of saying she appreciated that he could feel comfortable enough to share his story with her. Emma was not the easiest person to form a connection with but once she let you, it was private and intimate. “I’m trying to keep a mutant community afloat and you want to discuss limelight?” Emma then made a sound that conveyed her disgust at what his underwear was. “I forgot to mention I also hate people for their awful choices of clothing.”

“No, you certainly don’t,” he said with a quiet, dry kind of chuckle. “Not for anything at all.” She wouldn’t be Emma Frost if she asked the world for anything rather than demand it, would she? Scott propped his elbow up on the bar and turned to watch her blow the smoke, amused. She never did anything if it didn’t lend itself to some kind of scene.
At that comment, he let his head hang. A tiny smile tugged at the corner of his mouth. “Usually not. I aim to please.” If they were making implications, he could rise to it. He wouldn’t say no to something a little lighter than what he’d walked in there feeling. “I guess you’d know.”
\
Emma scoffed out of humour a little, her lips at the end of the pen. She let the silence feel the room again, the only sound being the growling of the vape pen as she took another long inhale. As he responded to her later comment, Emma’s expression seemed unchanged for a moment. As if she didn’t hear it for a moment. Her lips twitched into the signature smirk she wore as she exhaled.
“That is the one thing I have always liked about you. You enjoy being in control.” Emma took another long drag before she exhaled again. Her smirk staying across her lips as her eyes never left the ones behind his shades. “Like me.”

“Sometimes you need to hear things that you don’t want to, even if they’re useless.” Emma might not care about apologies or want any. They might have as much utility to her as a cup in a sinking ship, but she still needed to hear it, and that he meant it. He had made a mistake that wasn’t his to make, and he couldn’t even…there was nothing he could do about it. He couldn’t tell her the truth.
Her comment made him chuckle, though it was completely devoid of any actual humor. You are bloody Scott Summers. Was he? That was the problem. It was the whole problem. “You have no idea how hard I’m trying to do exactly that, Em.”
“I beg to differ but I don’t beg.” Emma mused as she pulled out a vape pen. It didn’t even have any nicotine in but she supposed it was better than the alternative. Taking a long, slow drag, the vape pen almost growled as she inhaled. If anything, the exhale of the vape gave her the appearance that behind such a cold front, laid a dragon. A cold burning heat.
As he spoke, she stayed quiet for a moment, her cobalt eyes matching his own gaze behind the ruby shades. “Well, it is a good thing you’ve never shied away from hard work.” Emma gave him a knowing smirk as she spoke quietly, speaking more intimately than her usual professional approach that she had been using towards him as of late.

An Open Heart|| Kurt & Emma
@ascintillatingwit
The atmosphere around Star City was somber in tone. The repeal of the SRP, while could be classified as a victory, ended in the death of a man who fought for justice. Not every hero was immortal like him, among many others. No. They were human. He heard only of the news by the word of mouth, citing their griefs with little to say, choking back on their tears.
That’s how he knew the man. By whispered eulogies and perhaps, a rumor or two. He reserved his judgement, regardless. Such thoughts, however, came only in between him turning the page of his bible. His office door was open at a slit, inviting the light breeze to brush against his fur.
His golden-eyed gaze scanned the psalms, index finger tracing underneath the verses, mumbling them to himself. They spoke of healing during tumultuous times. Not just the death of a man. There was the reluctance to truly open up. Not to his sister. Not to his boyfriend. His hesitations left him with tense shoulders and a stronger sense of guilt.
How honest can one man truly be?
\
“Light reading?” Emma asked as she opened the office door that was left ajar as she leaned on the doorway. She never really understood religion. She had her own theory on the matter but she didn’t care much for it. If it meant people did things for the greater good, who was she to judge? Her arms folded across her chest as she watched him murmuring to himself.
“Is this the part when you start telling me you also feel sad for this Wayne character?” Emma spoke about it like it was a flippant matter. It wasn’t because she didn’t care. Maybe a little bit like that. However, Emma had been playing the game of cold wars on people since her teenage years. It was called family bonding. She had waged a secret war of manipulating some of the most powerful people in the world when she was more nefarious. The loss of lives was nothing new to her. It seemed to have become a necessary burden to bare. As if the cause meant nothing unless lives are lost and, to be quite frank, Emma had enough of the loss. Everyone needed their time to grieve and if that meant she had to keep the momentum going then she would be that for them if that is what they needed. She would be cold, unfeeling and perhaps hated if it meant that it gave her community the chance to heal after this particular sacrifice. It wasn’t what she wanted. It was her duty.
“Do you have any profound wisdom to bestow about me? Any seasonal trends?”

“My dear, I hardly think you’re one to offer me or anyone else a lesson in tact. I didn’t come here for an exchange of wit.” It was not that Erik was incapable of holding his own, but he saw no point in it. Clever back and forths were a waste of his time. If there was dialogue that needed to be engaged in then he was perfectly able to do it, he didn’t lack the words, but repartee alone held little to no interest for him.
Erik fixed his gaze on her as she reminded him of that other suggestion. “It would be a shame for you and anyone who thought to agree if you were to advocate for that same thing again. I haven’t made myself an enemy of the X-Men for a long while, but let us never say never.” He wouldn’t let harm befall his family for the same reason he’d been unwilling to let it pass the last time. He was keenly aware of what Wanda was capable of doing and what it had meant should it get out of control, but that was the burden he’d agreed to bear.
He took in a slow breath. “I don’t have any reason to believe she’ll resist. She came with me asking for help. I don’t think I need to tell you the desperation necessary for either Wanda or her brother to ask me for help.” It wasn’t as if their contentious relationship wasn’t widely known. “Do what you’re able to do. If I doubted your ability, I wouldn’t have bothered to ask.” He wasn’t a man of half-measures or one to tolerate incompetence, and he’d have looked elsewhere if he didn’t think Emma had the capacity to manage it. “It’s in all our best interests that you succeed. It doesn’t matter if you care nothing for my daughter and you think me an old fool. You certainly care for others who are here.” Even Emma couldn’t deny that.
\
“Oh really? I do a far better job of it.” Emma countered. Oh she did enjoy a good verbal spar. Erik was great at many things. There were many elements she had admired. However, there was some things she believed were his flaws. “Of course not.” Emma agreed when he stated he didn’t come to have a battle of wit. She didn’t believe him to be witty enough to compete with her of all people. Erik had traits she possessed. They just presented them differently to people.
As he brought up the fact he was once a foe to the X-Men, Emma audibly scoffed in return. “I think you forget your present company.” She reminded him just like that without going into further detail. “Besides, if the X-Men didn’t accept a villain on the team every other week, are we really the X-Men?” She humored in a dry manner. “But, your view point is clouded by your emotion. I approach everything with pragmatism, Erik. Your daughter has that nifty little ability to throw logic out of the window. Couldn’t she just, you know, make another one and be done with it?” Emma suggested. Wanda had the power to literally make the world the way she saw fit. Whose to say she couldn’t just make a Bruce Wayne?
“Glad you said it and not me.” She mused before shaking her head. As he explained his case, Emma’s eyes were unwavering. They never left his. “You did have one thing right but I wouldn’t of said old.” She finally said with half a smirk. “Fine. I will help your wayward daughter. As a child to a mutant and a mutant herself, I suppose I can do something.” Emma leaned forward as she rested her elbows on the desk, her fingers weaving together as she looked into his eyes. “But that means you owe me something when I ask. Do we have an agreement?”

If it weren’t for Bruce Wayne’s ties to Wanda, then Anna would know very little about the man. She knew he’d donated to District X and funded Josh’s clinic. There was an alliance, of sorts, between him and the X-Men. She’d worked with him, at least within the capacity of the league, even though they’d never exchanged more than two words. She was sorry for his death in the sense that she would be sorry for anyone else who was said to fight on her side. She was sorry for Wanda, because she could see the depth of Wanda’s grief.
“He was a little more than just a billionaire, y’know,” she said, her tone reproachful. Emma could never be counted upon to demonstrate sensitivity, but sometimes she took it a little too far. “He fought with us.”

Emma licked her lips for a moment before she chuckled dryly as she shook her head. “Oh really?” She asked. She didn’t buy it of course. When Anna stated that he was more than what she said, Emma looked over at her, a moment of silence between their gaze. “And he died like one of us. Sad, honestly but forgive me if I lack sympathy. He wasn’t murdered for being born. He chose this.” Emma stated rather bluntly. She viewed his death with some sort of cold calculation. It was the way she handled things. “A human martyr for mutants. Who would of thought.”

“I’ll have you know my singing voice is near-perfect. The children adore my renditions of Let it Go complete with live-action ice palace making.” he smirked. Yes he’d only done it once but the collected kiddos had been squealing with delight. “There’s nothing wrong with the way I dress. You’re as bad as Warren, he literally wouldn’t let me go meet Kurt just cause I was wearing jogging pants and a hoodie.” Sure it had been a date but c’mon? What was wrong with his clothes? He smirked at the blasé response, “Ohhhhhhhh I just happen to know you’re a drag race fan. Never really watched it myself but then I got asked on it and now Michelle’s tweeting me. I could try and introduce ya if you like?” he blinked innocently.

“Well, not all of us use her mutation to perform party tricks.” Emma replied back in a dry tone. Emma was many things but her sense of fun was not one for children. She would leave that to people like Bobby. Emma’s hand clutched her chest as he mentioned what he was wearing to meet Kurt. “Only Warren understands me.” She muttered to herself. Of course, Warren would understand the importance of taking pride in one’s appearance. “I’m not a fan.” Emma quickly retorted. “I stand for equal rights of all minorities. I don’t need a television show who will have anyone on to show that.” She told him bluntly, glancing up and down at him. “You are so obnoxious, I am five seconds away from poking that part of your brain that will make you soul whatever Walmart choice of underwear you have chose today.”
