Below are some behind the scenes and inane ramblings cause there's just something about being possessed by an 8 year old album that leads to you intentionally breaking glass (and then gluing it back together)

So first we have the second sketch, where i digitized my pattern to make all the pieces I had floating around the notebook into one design and then played with the color til it looked decent. Then we have the actual stitched canvas cause once i broke the glass i didn't know how legible it was going to be and it's always good to take progress shots. And finally the canvas framed on display with all the thread colors i used.

Now you might think it would be fairly easy to break a cheap frame from Michael's but nope! It took multiple attempts over the course of 3 days to finally get it to shatter, and when it did it did. I tried a hammer and nail/drill bit/screwdriver, just the hammer, rock, rock from 4 feet up, corner of the safe in the hallway, and finally hammer with nail but not carefully anymore. Then reglued the pieces back into the frame into a shape i was happy with, et voilà!

I can tell you my secret now that my list is done:

there's been a couple posts around the last year that say something like "stop what is your absolute favorite pokemon" and I have been harvesting them from my dash to make these cards for people cause why not?

I have recreated something I saw and it makes me giggle uncontrollably everytime i pass it on my shelf

I used the DMC colors listed below on 14 count aida cloth (i recommend leaving the extra canvas at the top like the linked post did to make the rolling in the bottle look better (I forgot and filled the bottle with stuffing fluff to make it up)) and the tiny bottle i found at michael's after trial and error, the base is a couple of paper brads bent to hold the bottle and glued to a little wood seashell

It's not quite the usual art but i got a tiny easel and painted it to display my favorite card and really I'm just showing off my favorite card cause look at it it's perfect

Me last week: drawing this pose is impossible why on earth did i decide this was the pose i needed what was i thinking it'll never be done

I forgot to share these! I made my family orange and clove ornaments from hellenhighwater's post about garland for xmas this year! I now know sort of what I'm doing so maybe next year I'll actually make myself garland but for now i kept the funky one at the bottom cause it didn't fit my gifting standards

So funny story, I was actually in the middle of drawing the first attempt at raichu (don't ask) when I get a notification from a certain @somegrumpynerd saying the personal card I did for Júlia was so cool and I got to sit there thinking, for the last 2 weeks, man I hope I actually finish this card
