The social attitude regarding age is consistently getting weirder. You’re not ‘pushing 30’ you’re just in your late 20s. 30 is not old and neither is 40 while I’m at it. Growing older is an enormous privilege and displaying that age is a gorgeous component of life. Spending your days trying to reverse that grace breeds an eternally wasted life.

"people show their true colours in life threatening situations" no, they show you what they act like when they're mortally terrified, an emotion notorious for literally turning your entire brain off to the point where people who go into those situations as a profession need to be literally trained on how to not have that happen

Personally I think people who insult others for picking the bear over the man are part of the problem. “They said man not rapist.” Or “We’ll remember that when you’re attacked by the bear.” Or “Not all men.”

1. We know what they said, even if the bear killed us at least the bear would either leave our body or eat us to stay alive. We’re afraid of what the man would do to us for his own pleasure and that includes rape.

2. Not helping somebody because ‘they chose bear’ proves you are the man that shouldn’t be picked. This is in the same vein as “You probably deserved it.” Which is constantly used to harm and discredit victims. Nobody ‘deserves’ to be assaulted.

3. For the last time, we know it’s not all men. The problem is the staggering amount of men that would and instead of asking “How can I make things safer for others so they don’t even need to ask this question in the first place?” you take it as a personal attack. We know not all men will hurt us, but we’re so tired of being statistics that we don’t want to take the chance. We aren’t talking about the good men in these situations, we’re scared of them being the ones who aren’t.

On top of the ‘jokes’ they make towards the people who choose bear? To survivors???? Yeah, I would choose bear too.

I was hoping tonight would be different since I started falling asleep around 11. I crawl into bed and once again just lay here and cry on and off until 5 in the morning, I’m sick of my body keeping m awake until I’m too physically exhausted to stay awake anymore. I want my brain to leave me alone, I want it to shut the fuck up for just one night. I already know I’m not worth loving, that I’m fucking stupid, that I’m a huge burden. I don’t need it to repeat it to me night after night after night.

I just want to go to sleep.

i feel like the boeing whistleblower case should radicalize more people. a major airline company is producing planes with less and less regard for safety and it's starting to get noticeable. man takes them to court, which would reduce profit at the cost of public safety. he fucking dies the night that boeings legal team asks him to stay an extra day. if nothing happens about this, i hope it gets through to people that america would literally kill you for a few extra cents
