I remember more that I am pretty sure is from this story in particular, but if it is not, one I also need help finding. Crosshair is the medic due to his eyesight ( no its not the reg and the medic, I did check) and when back with them all he is sitting outside the ship when tech comes with the med kit to inventory it. And he notices they are missing my the Uber bacta shot from the kit and panics a bit and asks tech and tech is like when the bounty hunter (does not specify Cad Bane) got Hunter on Bracca we used it because we panicked and crosshair has a moment and then is like good. Please help, I have a bad feeling it got deleted because no search is finding anything.
Please y'all I need help finding a story. I can't recall all the details at the front but it is Crosshair Rejoins the Batch before S3, maybe after Kamino can't recall, and I think is actually chipless (unsure) but is having trouble integrating back into the batch. The one part I remember real well is they go on a mission to a pretty planet what Crosshair is like "This is a good place to die" and then during the mission something blows up and he gets internal injuries but doesn't realize. They return to the ship and he says he is fine then take a nap and wakes up to vomit blood in the fresher and the door has to be broken down by Hunter because internal bleeding is bad.
Please help I need it

Just had another thought. What if the chip overlays Jango Gets thought pattern over the clones.Tweaked a bit to not be independent but Jango had reasons to hate Jedi. Take that shadow and overlay it. Very easy to turn on the Jedi when with the order all you feel is personal betrayal. Traitors to the Republic. Jango had many reasons to hate Jedi and even more to hate traitors.
We also shouldn't overlook their age. Yes all the factors make them age quicker, learn faster but they are, inherently, young to life. And their entire life has been around order and obedience. There has been very little chance for free thinking, or even normal ethics and morality. Even the bad batch, by their very appearance, their spec ops/black ops training could have theoretically vanished into the galaxy during the war did not do so. They didn't even have loyalty to the regular clones to tie them to the GAR and yet... They always came back. Because that's the life they know and have only known. They are very young.
Honestly, the aberrant behavior even without taking in the chips and morality into account is the rest of squad. If you have been in a system where obedience is paramount, where it is implied that bad things happen when you don't listen, them going against orders is the strange and unusual behavior. Now if we take that and add the chip, Crosshair would have definitely been worried by their behavior. They are behaving against what their life, even as an independent squad, has raised them in.
Just ugh, so many thinky thoughts they have snarled like a tooka in yarn.
Just dove head first into the bad batch and specifically crosshair so let's talk about the Chip! We can't properly understand how a biochip would work. Is it controlling hormone production? Disrupting neurons? Actively activating and deactivating sections of the brain? All of the above? Imagine that. Good soldiers follow order and when they do it's like the biggest serotonin rush. It's warm feelings. It's good and coming right out of a galactic war how many clones had many good moments? How easy is it to fall into getting that rush even as you do terrible things? Neurons! What if it turns off the emotional paths. Ethics and morality are emotion driven. You take those out and then you have logic and orders. Of course you can also logic your way out of killing innocents but you were always a soldier. Independent though was not for the battlefield. Not for the rank and file. How about just shutting down section of long term memory? Turning on your general would be easy if it's like you've only just met them. Its even easier to not accept a brothers help if you can only remember the bad things, even though you know there had to be good things. Imagine Crosshair having nothing but the bitter memories of being a clone in the bad batch, emotional attachment remembered but not easy to focus on and the headiest rush of feel good when you listen? Now imagine that shadow, carved into your brain because the brain never forgets. There is a reason we are so aware and wary of brain trauma. You can recover from brain trauma but you never return to before. Brains don't heal, they scar.
oooh that's an interesting concept 👀 that sounds a lot like addiction which is interesting because your body also tends to punish you when you don't indulge addiction. so not obeying orders would result in a reaction similar to withdrawal? which in and of itself is something very difficult to overcome.
I also read somewhere that the types of addictions you're predisposed to are genetically coded so this could also be something the Kaminoans tampered with to make the clones more susceptible to the chips' effects.
but this really is very interesting, especially the part about altering clones' perceptions of the past. this could explain the batch's confusion to Crosshair unwillingness to return on his own.
And you're absolutely right about the long lasting effects! Even without a chip, knowing how long he's had his and that it's been not only tampered with but also removed due to damage caused by injury (we don't even know just how much damage that engine wrought) there is no way he wouldn't suffer any after effects, possibly permanent ones.
This is some really good meta!!
