Going to a restaurant when you are a server

Last night I went to a local diner with my hubb and father in law. As a waitress I also try to sell my servers on Ashley Aprons. To my surprise she was wearing one already. I asked her how she likes her apron, and I’m mad I didn’t record it. She told me how much she loves not having to tie and untie it and the way it feels and looks.

Anyways, she was great and got a big tip! It’s hard not to have the instinctual habits of picking up every last crumb or straw wrapper and putting it in your soup cup before she takes it away lol the list goes on.

The Servers Struggles

The serverlife struggles

Sometimes when you are serving drinks to a table you don't use a tray. Most waiters and waitresses will carry them in their hands for a 2 top to 4 top. Is it just me or is it annoying how customers will try to grab drinks out of your hand when you start to put them down? It's like, I poured them, stacked them in my hands, and made it all the way out to the table. And they think I can't set them down on my own. Little do they know if one comes out the rest of them will fall. And then when I say " oh it's okay I'll set them down :) " They look at you like your crazy lol. I know they are just trying to help, but I wish we could tell them why they shouldn't help just to spread the message. Too funny had to share!

Waitress problems

If you are currently a waitress or have been in the past than I think we can all relate in some way. We all deal with common issues including tying or aprons on and off. I personally couldn’t stand it. When I have to go pee, it is such a pain taking it off and putting the apron back on. Trying to hurry as fast as you can because the tables are waiting and they could give a shit less that you haven’t peed all day, they want their side of ranch lol. One day my apron was sagging off my waist and it eventually came undone and plopped on the floor mid order. I was so embarrassed it feels like your pants are coming down lol. I had a thought that ran through my head about how it would be so much nicer if their was a belt on my apron that clipped. I self taught myself how to sew and 3 years later, yes 3 years it took me to learn, I mastered the perfect design for a waist apron. I patented the design and started to sell. I made sure it was made for every single server out there. Ashley Aprons is now sold on Etsy and Amazon and are selling around the country to my fellow waitstaff.
