HollowClan - Year 4 Recap

Moon 37:

Plumvalley and Cressheart take a long walk, each of them lost in their own thoughts.

Later on, on a patrol with Burnetstar, the leader confesses that they've been thinking about death lately, with all the death surrounding them. Were they cursed? Plumvalley tells them that no matter what, their legacy would shine brighter than any star. Burnetstar purrs that they are so lucky to have him as a son, and the two finish gathering herbs.

Cressheart and Rift and are attacked by a rouge, leaving Cressheart injured.

Moon 38:

A kittypet waits at the border, asking to join. Shine is welcomed into the clan.

Scorchkit -> Scorchpaw (Traits: Compassionate, Active Imagination & Quick to make peace. Mentor: Theo.)

Shadepaw is attacked by rats and injured.

Scorchpaw is scrambling after Theo down a mountain slope when the molly sharply stops him, pointing out the mushroom circle in front of him and to not tempt the moss cats. Scorchpaw rolls his eyes and steps into it, loudly exclaiming that its a load of mouse-dung. But in the moons to come...sleep does not come easy.

Moon 39:

Cressheart heals and goes missing for a few days. It seems that she is gone longer and longer.

Shadepaw -> Shadeleg (Traits: Ambitious, Good Climber & Keen Eye.)

Cindertuft leads a casual sparring session consisting of Ganderdapple, Rift, Toadstipe, Strawfern and Peakfur.

Moon 40:

Burnetstar and Toadstripe get attacked by rats.

The heat makes the clan want to hide in dens for most of the moon.

Moon 41:

Rift finds some orange poppies and gifts them to Peakfur.

Whisperclash finds laurels and gifts them to Theo.

Burnetstar is expecting again!

Oleanderkit -> Oleanderpaw (Traits: Righteous & Picky Nest Builder. Mentor: Toadstripe.)

Burnetstar and Toadstripe have healed.

Moon 42:

Burnetstar hopes for a small litter, their anxieties about losing more babies overwhelming.

Cressheart is given pink flower bulbs from her mother, Pepperfish.

Moon 43:

Burnetstar gives birth to two toms: Nimblekit and Firekit.

Swanspeckle is non-binary!

The rats are back, this time attacking Pepperfish, but the molly escapes with no injures.

Moon 44:

These rats will not fuck off. They get Ganderdapple and Pebblepelt.

Scorchpaw -> Scorchtuft (Traits: Compassionate, Good Kitsitter & Good Mediator.)

Pepperfish and Grayblotch come across an apprentice-aged cat, who gleefully asks to join. They bring her back to the camp and she is allowed to join.

Galepaw (Traits: Bloodthirsty & Confident With Words) is given to Shine to mentor.

Moon 45:

Treerip slips on a rock and dislocates her leg.

Theo gets yellowcough.

Cindertuft, Scorchtuft, Saffronshade, Cresshert, Whisperclash, and Strawfern are caught in a sudden, violent storm. Throughout it all, Scorchtuft keeps an eye on everyone and they make it home safe.

Moon 46:

Strawfern comes out as non-binary (what is in the HollowClan water that's turning all the frogs gay)

Burnetstar comes down with whitecough.

Ganderdapple and Treerip recover.

Oleanderpaw -> Oleandertail (Traits: Righteous & Camp Keeper)

Galepaw -> Galefeather (Traits: Bloodthirsty & Great Speaker)

Moon 47:

ClawClan has been raiding their borders at all hours and tensions are at an all time high. HollowClan is struggling to respond.

Cindertuft is badly injured and suffers a heart attack and passes away.

Moon 48:

Tensions remain high, and the warriors of HollowClan are slowly adapting to their new normal and new routines in order to try and save their territory.

RiftClan - Year 4 Recap

Moon 37:

Evilface takes Pebblejoy and Cheesespeckle to gather marigold. The warriors are oblivious and wander right past them. Evilface sighs and calls them back.

Meanwhile, Emberblotch opts to take Lilacbrook. To her surprise, Lilacbrook stars asking about StarClan. The two have a nice conversation that makes the herb gathering go by quick.

A ClawClan patrol consisting of Snowstorm, Nettleshade and Aspenpaw attack Ripple and Weedstripe. Ripple manages to escape, but Weedstripe receives a nasty bite-wound.

Moon 38:

After many moons in recovery, Floodbloom's broken leg is finally healed. She's happy to get back to her duties.

Subaru and Pebblejoy get pissed off as a ClawClan patrol mocks them.

Moon 39:

Unfortunately, Floodbloom overdoes it and ends up with heatstroke. Oops.

Emberblotch and Evilface go out to collect herbs and talk about the latest news.

Russetstar and Lilacbrook play like kits again and accidently stay out later than intended, but they both laugh off the scolding from Cragwhistle.

Moon 40:

Pebblejoy, unable to resist being a little asshole, goes and challenges a local rouge to a fight. Unsurprisingly he loses and has to be rushed home.

At least Floodbloom is better now!

Cheesespeckle finds some cattails while out on patrol, and Pinnaclekit asks to have them. (I found out that Pinnacle is the top of a building...how tf does Cragwhistle know what a building is???)

Moon 41:

Cragwhistle asks Emberblotch about the plantain patch towards the river. Emberblotch responds that she hadn't checked it in awhile, and it may need some trimming. Cragwhistle grabs Floodbloom and they head out with Emberblotch to clear the trail and gather the plantain. Emberblotch also spies a mullein plant about to fall over, so she gathers that too.

Cheesespeckle and Weedstripe have a friendly spar.

Moon 42:

Pebblejoy is better. He's still a little shit though.

Furzekit -> Furzepaw (Traits: Strict & Quick to make peace. Mentor: Lilacbrook)

Pinnaclekit -> Pinnaclepaw (Traits: Gloomy, Constantly Climbing & Curious about StarClan. Mentor: Pebblejoy OH NO)

Buttercupkit -> Buttercuppaw (Traits: Wise & Quick to make peace. Mentor: Subaru)

Pebblejoy and Pinnaclepaw come across a HollowClan patrol. Pebblejoy is cold towards them, Pinnaclepaw sticks her tongue out.

Buttercuppaw is stressed because she talked with a kittypet. Would she have to leave her clan? But she loves her parents, and her siblings and oh moons what if she's exiled- Subaru kindly tells her its fine, it's ok to have friends outside the clan, as long as you put RiftClan first. Were Ripple or Floodbloom weak because they still spoke to their loner friends and family? Buttercuppaw quickly shakes her head no, feeling a little lighter.

Furzepaw is stopped by Lilacbrook before he chases a rabbit over the border. Lilacbrook calmly teaches him about respecting borders.

Moon 43:

Furzepaw has gotten whitecough.

Pebblejoy pranks Pinnaclepaw by bringing her to the river, where she swears she hears a cat crying, only for Pebblejoy to smirk and show her that it was a bird, a spotted towhee, able to trick many young warriors.

Subaru praises Buttercuppaw's tracking skills.

Cragwhistle and Weedstripe find an injured cat on the Thunderpath named Figflit and bring her back for healing.

Moon 44:

With cheers and praise around her, Cragwhistle announces her retirement. Russetstar thanks him for his service and wishes him well. In that same moment, Cragwhistle tells the leader she's expecting again.

Pinnaclepaw stumbles across a loner who askes to join the clan. The cat is older and tells a tale about their friend who was now called Craneclaw who joined a group of cats and was well taken care of, and she wanted the same. Lavendereye joins the clan. Unfortunately, Pinnaclepaw is out too long and gets frostbite.

Moon 45:

Cragwhistle hopes for a big litter!

RUSSETSTAR AND SUBARU ARE MATES OLD MEN IN LOVE REAL THEY ARE GAY AND IN LOVE YOUR HONOR

Russetstar makes a shocking announcement. It was him that killed Apricotstripe. She was planning to kill him and take his place, StarClan had warned him. He had to act for the safety of his clan. Emberblotch, Weedstripe, and Lilacbrook are devestated. (Her children and former mate.)

Furzepaw and Pinnaclepaw recover from whitecough (idk when Pinnaclepaw got whitecough last I knew she had frostbite??)

Floodbloom falls in a snowdrift and gets soaked while helping Emberblotch search for herbs.

Moon 46:

Subaru innocently slips into the nursery to see Cragwhistle's single kitten, Mothkit. Russetstar follows. He says its fine that Subaru sired the kit, as Russetstar sired her first litter. The three share a nice moment.

Floodbloom's frostbite is getting worse.

Lilacbrook, seeing her condition getting worse, confesses his love. The two embrace as he curls up and tries to help her warm up with his body heat.

Moon 47:

Figflit is finally recovered from her injury on the Thunderpath. She is grateful to all the cats who helped her recover, and she takes a vow of loyalty.

Moon 48:

Buttercuppaw -> Buttercupfur (Traits: Nervous, Fast Runner & Good Mediator). I think it's literally because she is the only one of her siblings to not be injured during training.

Floodbloom is better. She and Lilacbrook get to enjoy being mates.

Weedstripe and Figflit find a young cat, curious about who they are. When they explain who they are and what they do, she eagerly asks to join. Sky joins the clan happily.

I AM SO PLEASED WITH THIS YEAR ITS NOT EVEN FUNNY WE GET SUBARU DEPUTY AND OLD MAN LOVE??? I literally screamed when Russetstar picked Subaru you have no idea i'm obsessed. I like that Pebblejoy and Pinnaclepaw get to be little shits together.

Moon 37:

Despite being forbidden herbs, Fawnflower recovers from yellowcough.

Aspenpaw and Boulderleaf collect herbs, having a quiet moment together.

Moon 38:

Rosemaryclaw finds a more "suitable" mate in Nettleshade. Sorrelstar purrs her approval.

Nettleshade trips and sprains her paw.

Silverwhisker and Thistlepaw antagonize a RiftClan patrol. You never know who is watching.

Moon 39:

Sorrelstar loses another life due to her claw-wound. Although weakened, she snarls at Boulderleaf's incompetence.

Thistlepaw -> Thistlefur (Traits: Insecure, Dream Walker). Sorrelstar glowers that of course he's ready to be a warrior, she would never do anything to harm him. He curses the way his voice trembles as he takes his vow.

Aspenpaw -> Aspenshade (Traits: Lonesome, Good Swimmer & Good Fighter). Snowstorm's claws slide out with excitement. Despite initially agreeing to mentor Aspenshade to intimidate Boulderleaf, Snowstorm found she was very easily able to mold her into a bloodthirsty warrior like herself. She reports to Sorrelstar that if she absolutely has to kill one of the kits, kill the boy.

Nettleshade, Silverwhisker, and Thistlefur go on patrol. Silverwhisker collapses. Is it due to heat...or pressure...?

Moon 40:

Silverwhisker recovers. Boulderleaf pleads them to stop being reckless. She doesn't want to see another kit die. Silverwhisker promises to keep their head low.

Snowstorm walks with a limp due to over-exhortation

Brightpaw -> Brightdawn (Traits: Charismatic, Great Storyteller & Good Swimmer). Sorrelstar proudly makes Rosemaryclaw retire and names Brightdawn deputy, promising her the next kit as her apprentice. Most of the clan agree with this choice or are too afraid to say anything.

Moon 41:

Fawnflower and Nettleshade are punished for talking to a rouge.

In the same moment, Brightdawn returns with a loner named Weasel. Sorrelstar of course allows him to join on her new deputy's suggestion. He is renamed to Weaselstorm. (Traits: Grumpy, Good Storyteller & Lore Keeper.)

Moon 42:

Brightdawn has gotten greencough. Sorrelstar pins Boulderleaf down and hisses in her ear that if her daughter dies she will make her watch as she slaughters her whole family.

Moon 43:

Boulderleaf skips out on sleeping and eating to do everything she can to make sure Brightdawn gets better, and she does. Brightwhisker hardly thanks her before leaving the den to sort out patrols.

Rosemaryclaw and Silverwhisker have a quiet chat about the clan and where it's going. Silverwhisker tells Rosemaryclaw what Boulderleaf said to them, and Rosemaryclaw agrees. Silverwhisker gifts her petals, in case...in case something were to happen to them.

Silverwhisker then goes missing for most of the morning, but they are back by midday.

Aspenshade eats prey on patrol, but she's in the good graces of Snowstorm, so Snowstorm quietly looks away.

Moon 44:

Boulderleaf is found stiff in her nest, with claw wounds down her sides. No one questions her death, and Snakeblaze and Rosemaryclaw quietly bury her. Silverwhisker and Thistlefur visit the grave later. Aspenshade doesn't care.

Brightdawn reveals she had a vision from StarClan, where she saw a silver cat standing on a rock, with fire blazing behind them. She vows to keep an eye on Silverwhisker. Nothing is going to stop her from her destiny.

Moon 45:

While on patrol with Silverwhisker and Snowstorm, Brightdawn spies a badger sett. She stiffly orders Silverwhisker to go check it, and they just barely scramble out in time to avoid the badgers claws. The three of them take it down, but Silverwhisker is left shaken. They know that Brightdawn did that on purpose, but Silverwhisker hasn't done anything to threaten them. Silverwhisker decides to try and stay clear of Brightdawn for now.

Moon 46:

Nettleshade and Rosemaryclaw find an abandoned kitten in the snow. Sorrelstar allows the kitten, now named Frostkit, into the clan as Brightdawn's future apprentice.

Nettleshade is slashed on the shoulder for allowing Snowstorm to be taken by twolegs on patrol. Aspenshade and Brightdawn immediately search for her.

Moon 47:

They fail to find Snowstorm due to the blizzard.

Sorrelstar tells Brightdawn that she needs an heir in case anything were to happen to her precious daughter. She tells her she's pregnant.

Due to the bad storm, Aspenshade and Nettleshade contract whitecough.

Moon 48:

Bluepaw, a little healer apprentice from StrikeClan, comes and boldly asks for herbs. Brightdawn mocks him and literally carries him out of camp.

Sorrelstar hopes for a small litter again. Maybe two brats at the most. She just needs a spare.

Pour one out for Boulderleaf, everyone. I was almost hoping Brightdawn would die for the drama but alas the girlboss is alive.

Am I setting up for Silverwhisker to rebel? Maybe. Do I want Silverstar? Maybe. You'll never catch me.

Blazedawn tells her brother Cloudfall that she is expecting Morelshade's kits.

Moon 41:

Something isn't right. Stonedusk awakes in the middle of the night, slipping out of the den to see Flaxclaw talking with a vicious looking rouge.

This rouge's name is Foxbane, and he is her mate and the father of Greykit and Bluekit.

They talk about using the kits for Flaxclaw to get accepted easier.

Moon 42:

Blazedawn and Morelshade's kits are here, and its one molly, who Blazedawn names Pipitkit.

Deerstep and Cloudfall are instantly enthralled.

Morelshade is hesitant.

Moon 43:

Mistface celebrates a well-earned retirement.

To no ones surprise, Emberstar names Blazedawn the new deputy

Rainstorm and Ashheart get attacked by rats.

Craneclaw and Morelshade are now mates!

Craneclaw tells her loner friend Bagel all about it.

Stonedusk finds two abandoned kits and she and Ashheart adopt them as their own. A light grey molly named Willowkit, and a white tom named Egretkit.

Moon 45:

Blazedawn and Bluepaw go out on a herb patrol. Needless to say, they don't get along.

Slatefur shows Greypaw important territory landmarks. Greypaw relays all of this to Flaxclaw.

Craneclaw, Deerstep and Stonedusk steal prey from ClawClan.

Later on, Doverwhisker and Palethroat mock the ClawClan patrol that comes to investigate.

Moon 46:

Craneclaw tells Morelshade she's expecting!

Morelshade comes out as non-binary. We stan.

Moon 47:

Bluepaw receives a prophecy from StarClan: "Beware the son with a pelt of black."

He tells Lightleaf who is...less than kind about it.

I'll tell ya'll since we got some new people: Lightleaf received this same prophecy that influenced her to kill Flintpaw and her downwards spiral.

Is Morelshade a good parent to Pipitpaw?

Yes! Although Blazedawn is in her life more, Morelshade surprisingly made an effort to be around despite having two other kits with Craneclaw (They are very close with them as well). I think they got over their initial awkwardness pretty fast. I can tell you (without spoiling) that this is what her relationship bar looks like with Morelshade in the current!

Shoutout to the people who recognize something about this!

Bluepaw practically fell into his nest. His mentor had been running him ragged since she picked him, and any moment's rest was welcome.

Bluepaw...what a stupid name.

The apprentice thought. He much preferred his old name, Azure. He knew his sister Concrete liked the name Greypaw better, which he couldn't fault her for. But couldn't his mom have been the least bit creative when making up names?

Shaking his head as if to clear it, he curled up, settling in his nest. A single beam of moonlight flooded into the den, bathing his pelt in gold. His sleep was restless, and he tossed and turned until his eyes snapped open.

"What." He said flatly as he woke up in a starry blue landscape. He glanced around, trying to spot any other cats, but could not see any. The only thing to do was walk, which is what he started doing. The ground started to shake, large cracks growing in the ground. Bluepaw felt himself panic, scrabbling to try to find something to hold, before he was plunged into darkness.

"Beware the son with a pelt of black." A hollowed voice echoed in his ears. Bluepaw twisted and turned, lashing out vainly to try and stop himself from falling, until he jolted awake in his nest. His heart pounded in his chest, fur drenched in cold-sweat.

What. Was. That???

Bluepaw thought, the message tingling in his ears. He frowned, looking over at his mentor, who was waking up with the rising sun.

"What?" Her monotone voice floated towards him. Bluepaw clawed at his nest, suddenly feeling unsure.

"You know that...uh...thing?" He said. Lightleaf fixed him with a blank stare.

"Oh you know...the star thing!" Bluepaw rolled his eyes.

"StarClan." Lightleaf corrected.

"Ya, that. I think...I think they...? It? Someone? They talked to me." Lightleaf was instantly at his side, the most emotion he had ever seen on her face.

"What did they say?" She breathed.

"They told me...they told me to beware the son with a pelt of black." Bluepaw's tongue tingled as the words rolled off his tongue. Lightleaf drew back, staring at him. Bluepaw stared back, waiting for her to elaborate. But she didn't. It was like she was frozen in time.

"Uh...Lightleaf..? Hello??" He waved a paw in her face. She hissed, slamming his paw down, claws sinking into his paw.

"Don't you EVER make up such FOOLISH NONSENSE again!" She snarled in his face.

"Ow! Ow! H-hey that hurts-"

"SILENCE!" Lightleaf bellowed. For once, Bluepaw was actually afraid of her. Her claws pricked into his skin.

"Listen here, you little fuck." She snarled.

"You will NEVER, EVER, speak to StarClan! They would not waste their time communing with an outsider like you! You will never amount to anything, and when i'm gone you will still be nothing! Do you hear me? You are being trained out of necessity, not skill! You. Are. Worthless!"

Normally, Bluepaw would not care about the words of others. But his mentor was here, holding down his paw and snarling in his face. All he could do was flatten his ears and nod. Lightleaf stared at him for a few more moments before stepped off.

"I'm going to gather mallow. Stay here." She stomped from the den. Bluepaw took a moment to gather his bearings. He looked down at his front paw, which had small pinpricks of blood welling from it. As he stared at it, he felt something in his chest.

Before, he hadn't cared about this stupid clan or any cats other than his family. He had brushed off any advances of friendship, simply satisfied with doing the bare minimum until he could leave. But now...now Lightleaf had sparked something in him. He would show her. He would become the best healer StrikeClan had ever seen.

Stars be damned.
